Here ya go Zenagain ;)
Given to me from a good friend JG (Burtons best board Engineer in Vermount USA)
I was thinking of you champ.
Every surfer should watch this, Jerry Lopez style.
Backhand bottom turn at 6.57s........Yeeeiwwwww;)
Our brains are too small at the moment to comprehend the reality of what's happening in our forests . We're only just waking up so to speak . The big problem is we think we know everything, we are specks of dust on a timeline and we know nothing .
Love it Welly. Been pretty busy since I've been back so only just watched it then.
You're right, that is the stuff I love. Don't really dig on the park love the big mountain powder stuff.
Coincidentally, any day from now my shiny new Never Summer Premier F1 should be arriving to my front door from the US. Directional 163, set back stance, rocker camber rocker and slight pin tail. I'm gonna fucking step it up this year Welly starting with Hokkaido in December. Timewise, not too far off from pulling some of my own similar lines. Getting cold here already. You've amped me now mate.
Yeah cool shit Zenmon, send me a photo of your new nude stick;) on this thread.
"@welly ... I see you have been to the temple and spoken to the master; great link you posted. Anything to do with Gerry Lopez is good, he perhaps my one and only surfing god ever. That thing about finding the smoothest line and making it look as easy as possible really resonates; well the current top 40 circus monkeys wouldn't understand something as simple as that, you would have to throw in a 540 or something surely."
Yeah Floyd, I have watched this vid about 6 times now, it really hit home for me, the smooth as lines nothing rad or extreme just going with the flow as Jerry Lopez stats.
I love how the Japanese guy explains things in simple harmony with nature, it is so true;)
So I had to grab Jerry's words and put them in my avatar, I think it is such a great statement, cause when you get to such a level there are even bigger and greater levels to expand in.
Can't stand meeting people who think they are the best at what they do and know everything, really I just laugh it off and laugh again;)
Yeah I really love this little vid and I know it will amp Zenmon up for sure, as it's not far around the corner:)
I've watched it a few times myself, its visually beautiful and the spoken word is profound.
Well said Floyd. :)
Remember when we first caught our first wave......? These words stick in my mind and are so profound, like you say Floyd.
"That first feeling you get, that sensation of the glide is something thats deep and tremendously fulfilling. Its avery feeling thing and if you don't move with it, life is gonna pass you by. "
check john peck out, think you might enjoy this ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VT-0OVETeHQ
.... and don't forget to go surfing
That's was cool shit.
Sharing the spiritual side;) Even on the waves.
The LSD, the combing of the beard, the free love of sharing waves and the timber infills to place the big board up in the roof :)
Yeah, he has adapted little snippets of this and that along the way. Those early days on the islands before hard drugs would have been some place.
@welly. check this link out
Jack's an interesting person. I've read a lot of Jack's books and find he puts an easier to understand western expression to Buddhist teachings than many Eastern authors do.
It's about the Zen.
I'm liking Jack already;)
I'm sure others have the Zen or the Jack to share :)
