The E'ly breeze is freshening so conditions are deteriorating across the coast this afternoon. No shortage of swell at all - sets are 3-4ft - but quality isn't great.

Winds backed right off and some clean conditions early.Swell has dropped and has east in it's direction.Tides beginning to fill though surfs a bit uneven and not quite lining up at most beaches.Few out off the middle of Newcastle Beach and check Flatrock towards high.South Bar and Dixon not closing out as much.Water temp 17.4C.Waverider buoy 1.76m at 13 secs from 136 degrees.

2019-09-19 05:53:00: peaky 4-5ft ESE, Light NE, cool and cloudy 4/10

Dawn Report: Light NE winds are a big improvement on the last few days, but it's raining and pretty hard to find enthusiasm out there this morning. The open beaches are seeing 3-5ft sets at exposed spots, but it's nothing special. However, the next few days don't look much better so perhaps take what you see in front of you right now. Tune in to the updated photo report around 8am.
