True that views. I hear Ringmaster plans to lock down Steps / Boobs, and Gary G is just going to do roving patrols on the other breaks. You don't want to know what punishment he's handing out to surfers breaching lockdown.
So it's just not "avoid Winki", it's avoid farken everywhere.

Bar the security guy shagging a person in quarantine.

Yes 100000%

You can deny this effect, but it doesn't change the fact that the protest sent a clear message to others not to give a fuck.

info-dreaming. I could find 1000 + social media posts from Liberal Party MPs bitching and moaning about lockdowns being too harsh in Victoria and demanding all borders be re-opened. And when a journalists asked Scomo if the anti lock down protests should go ahead he said “it’s a free country”. Funny how you seem to think the BLM protest (which Dan Andrews said shouldn't go ahead) is the only thing that sent the message to relax social distancing.
That social media output by your beloved conservative representatives, and Scomo’s “its a free country had no impact at all? Yes I'm being sarcastic. And now the fuckwit PM has gone to the football. No mask. No distancing. What a wanker.

End of the day you can call the PM a wanker or others state leaders wankers, but the only state and leader that has fucked up with egg on their face and hundreds of new cases of Covid 19 each day and a City in Lockdown is Victoria.

The clear problem is instead of taking an Australian wide approach and following other states Dan has tried to do things differently pointless harsher lockdowns, not taking the same approach to return travellers and using private quarantine security etc

If he had just stuck to the same approach as other states and if an outbreak had happened, it would be very hard to place any blame on him but as it is he is the only state leader to completely fuck up.

Other states can go back to a much more normal lifestyle because they have been more successful in controlling the spread of Covid19 and ironically with much more moderate measures.

Harsher restrictions were clearly pointless, if anything it has quite possibly created a bigger rebound effect once we saw 10K people on the streets, one minute Dans telling us we cant go fishing alone as the risk is too high next week he is allowing 10K people out on the streets together.

"one minute Dans telling us we cant go fishing alone as the risk is too high next week he is allowing 10K people out on the streets together."
What the fuck was Dan supposed to do? The protests were going ahead no matter what. They went ahead all around the country, and in NSW the government tried to outlaw the Sydney BLM protest and were overturned by the courts. People would have shown up anyway and the cops don't have the resources to seperate many thousands of people unless they went to water canons, clubs, and tear gas.
Andrews didn't want people to attend the rally and he said so many times. He didn't encourage the protestors at all, and the BLM protest didn't lead to an outbreak because the protestors wore masks and practiced good hygiene. You're holding Andrews to an impossible standard. When there is an inevitable outbreak in NSW you won't blame the covidiots or Gladys, it will be the BLM protestors up there too.
Meanwhile, a functioning covid safe app would be really fucking handy right now, but I won't expect to hear you criticise the LNP for overseeing that massive fuckup. I suppose the Ruby Princess wasn't the state and federal government's fault either according to you.
And on another point, do you think Scotty from Marketing sent a bad message the other night going to the footy sans mask and sans social distancing? He told Australia he was going on holiday with Jen and the girls and he hoped they understood. What a clown.

For sure there has been leakage from quarantine, reasons currently under investigation, but Indo rather than wild broad brush generalisations can you be specific as possible to how Dan Andrews got it wrong.

I'd like you to also try to convince me I'm wrong in saying had Morrison closed the boarders a month earlier with strict quarantine our economy and life would never had to have been closed down at all. The conservatives in Australia can't stand the fact that Victoria is in Labors hands. It drives them nuts. The jewel in the crown and the bloody socialists have it. So much public cash to rort and they can't get their hands on any of it. Andrews is spending up big time and if it was theirs, well, the rivers of gold would be endless. Just look at how much the 'mates' all made the last time they had it. Matthew Guy at Fishermans Bend created a couple of billion with just the stroke of a pen. That's just one of many opportunities for rorting they are missing out on. Plus, Andrews is popular, and competent and that shits them more than anything. So the game is on, "Get Dan" is the cry, and all the ducks are lined up. Costello at Nine, Stokes at Seven, The Murdochs, the knobbled ABC are all on the case. No government in the world has been perfect in their handling of a very difficult situation, but here's a short list of major government fuckups in Australia.
1. Victorian Government hiring untrained security guards for quarantine hotels.
2. Other state governments hiring untrained security guards for quarantine hotels.
3. Over-reliance of Melbourne as the point of re-entry of International travellers
4. Failure to shut national borders in February or January
5. The Covid Safe app failure
6. Ruby Princess / Sydney Airport fiascos
7. Federal government putting enormous pressure on states to re-open borders and supporting HC Challenge to open the state borders.
8. Failure to extend job-seeker forcing casual workers to work in dangerous places so they have enough money to not starve
9. Failure of all governments to get social distancing messaging out in multiple languages.
10. Bringing in 2500 US troops into Northern Territory.

It's so predictable that Murdoch, the LNP, and keyboard warriors like Indo Dreaming only focus on fuckup 1 whiled completely ignoring fuckups 2-10.

Excuses excuses say what you like but the spike in numbers has only happened in Victoria and aligned perfectly with protest (incubation period).

If a spike now happened in an other state it would be very hard to link them to the same protest date.

No matter the government be it federal or state there will always be fuck ups that is part of life, but what really matters at the end of the day are how big these fuck ups are and what the result of the fuck ups are.

On a world scale Australia has done extremely well, on a national level every state bar Victoria has done extremely well, most states are under Labor so anyone saying this is about Labor or Liberal is barking up the wrong tree.

This is about one leader that took a slightly different approach than other state leaders and is now paying for it.

BTW. In regard to the BLM protest and allowing them to go ahead, and the classic line from people like you, "so why didnt other states see a spike"

I saw good metaphor for this along the lines of "not everyone that drives home drunk crashes their car"

Im sure with what we know now if we could turn back time we would close borders, but thats the beauty of hindsight.

But at the time we did not know things would be this bad this is a very unique situation, and we were getting very mixed messages from the WHO.

We didn't act slowly compared to other countries and have done really well on a world scale.

What countries closed their borders and have totally prevented entry of Covid-19?

Maybe some tiny little islands countries with little international visitors?...

If it wasn't for the current second wave in Victoria, we would all still be real positive and expect aiming for a September AFL grand final at the MCG with spectators.

Indo

In the context of this discussion you are using hindsight as an excuse to hide the glacial slow government reaction to a world pandemic those seriousness ought to have been evident to a blind nit in January - February. Countries like South Korea, which had suffered greatly with SARs understood this and went very hard very early.

A strong leader would have been more proactive and closing down our boarders before the virus coming here. Do you remember the loops Morrison and his government were going through about trying to get foreign students back into the country even before we closed our boarders? No Indo, Morrison fucked up big time early but to his credit he and the government(s) - state and federal response since has been pretty good,

But that's not to say Scotty isn't playing politics - backing Palmer's court challenge, pressure on Qld but not SA, WA nor Tasmania to reopen boarders and of course the #getdan approach of the last month with the constant carping from useless pisshands like Tim Smith.

Of course, in a sense all of the above is now history given our health care system is in good shape its what our PM and his government do to get us out of this shit show that he will really be remember for especially when it comes to the economy.

So is it going to be more trickle down clap trap economics from the ideologues or meaningful taxation reform to (1) kick start the economy and (2) start repaying the soon to be $1 trillion debt the country faces? ........ mmmm, I was just fondly remembering when our deficit was so small Abbott called it a debt and deficit disaster. Gee, he had the good manners to only double it during his time as PM.

Ha ha you know its pretty obvious you are just trying to take the conversation away from Daniel Andrews and try to shift it to blaming Scomo for not acting fast enough.

Just went and had a look and pretty much every developed country hit the borders closing switch around the same time as us as did many developing countries

https://www.nytimes.com/article/coronavirus-travel-restrictions.html

So to say we were slow is kind of weird we closed borders before many countries only really Europe that closed borders earlier by a few days as were affected earlier.

Obviously not a decision you take lightly, huge decision, crazy to play blame games saying we were slow, if you are going to say that, say the world didnt react and close borders fast enough.

And then enter the WHO to the discussion.

That is Bullshit of the highest order Indo.
Let's not forget that Smoko was going to the footy on the weekend Dan Andrews pulled the trigger on lockdown in March. Andrews went harder and earlier than any other state or federal government.
So given this fact, and given the fact that every state had a BLM protest, and given the fact other state governments used private security at quarantine hotels, what exactly was Dan Andrews' "slightly different approach" that we are now paying for?
I will wait, because the way I see it, Victoria has had the toughest rules in the country, and haven't the LNP sooked about them, and tried to weaken them big time.

combo of bad luck, stupid behaviour of guards, lack of oversight, and people ignoring the rules.
I'd also say the other states, especially NSW, not having an outbreak is extremely good luck. Their social distancing has been woeful, and plane passengers from Melbourne just walking out of the airport, is really inviting an outbreak up there.

Two problem areas

1. Those in Quarantine, yes other states did at times use private security, but they were overseen by police and even soldiers and private security given proper training unlike in Victoria where private security even caught and spread the virus.

Those with fevers in other states like NSW are also taken to a different hotel managed by NSW Health.

In other states everything is also overseen by department of health, but not in Victoria it was just overseen by department of jobs precincts and regions and we even had security guards shagging those in Quarantine.

Basically Victoria quarantine system wasn't run to the same standard as other states.

Thats not bad luck, that bad management.

2. Community transmission, every state ran the risk of an outbreak allowing protest to happen, and every state ran the risk of mixed messages, but the fuck this shit effect in Victoria was stronger because one minute we are told if we go fishing or play golf we are risking transmission and will be fined, the next minute its cool to hit the streets with 10K people.

Yeah Dan said no, yeah right with other things he said strongly if you break the rules you will be fined, but wth protest, oh please dont go, wink wink.

Melb and Sydney with highest population and protest numbers were always the highest risk area, so should have been dealt with most seriously.

Maybe there is some bad luck involved maybe the climate doesn't help.

But still a fark up by Dan

No doubt hotel security could have been handled better by the State Government, but the security company, the individual guards, and sick people in quarantine are also to blame. You're blaming just 1 person which is standard fare in the get Dan campaign.
Meanwhile, the massive fuckup that is the non-functioning covid safe app is pretty much all the federal government's fault. They signed off on a useless app and brought it online with either zero testing or zero care.
Ruby Princess. All the government's fault.
Sydney Airport debacles (x2) are all the government's fault.
It's also hard to punt blame onto others when the federal government jumps into bed with Clive Palmer to have all the nation's borders reopened.
Your inability to even acknowledge seriously Liberal Party fuckups just sums up how one eyed you are.
According to you, the BLM protests meant Victorians (and nobody from the other states) relaxed social distancing and it's all Dan's fault. When Scomo goes to the footy without a mask and doesn't social distance, what the fuck does that signal to the country?

Now, they've cancelled the flights.
Vic number plates everywhere.
Half of fucking Victoria must be up here and you can't blame them.

word on the street is it is just a matter of time until something kicks off up here but maybe it's pure luck it hasn't, or maybe the virus has mutated to be less contagious or less lethal.
Could be hundred of young people up here who think they have a cold but have Covid.

Have to laugh when I hear commentary that the media has whipped up a climate of fear and hysteria.
I do a bread delivery in the Tweed-Ballina area. All cafes packed, business is up 20-30% from pre-covid times. Never been busier. Couldn't fit the bread in the van etcetc.
I certainly see no fear in the general public.

A 90 year old and a 70 year old have died in this "second wave". Thats hardly knee trembling news.

The only fear I see is online from the conspiracy nut jobs who never tire of peddling fear and disinformation, whilst without a shred of irony or self-awareness accusing the society they live in of whipping up fear to control the population.

Ironically they sign off on these missives, Peace, or love.

'It is hard to escape the conclusion that for all the tough talk and rousing speeches the people in charge simply failed to do their jobs and the people on the ground simply didn’t give a f*ck.

And this brings us to the most perplexing question of all. All the people in those housing commission flats, all the people in those lockdown suburbs of north and west Melbourne who are being blamed for the latest virus outbreak, they are pure Labor heartland. They are working-class battlers, migrant families fighting for a better life and people on welfare just struggling to get by.

They are like the people I grew up with. They shouldn’t just be voting for Labor leaders, they should be branch-stacking for them with unbridled enthusiasm. And yet these are apparently the people to whom the message of an apparently adored Labor leader is just not getting through.

It’s a funny thing. I’ve been whacked by Dan’s Handbag Hit Squad for daring to suggest that kids deserve school and workers deserve jobs but now that I think about it I can’t recall any group of people who were a whiter shade of beige. As one hilarious but unpublishable clip doing the rounds on social media shows, the brothers of Broadmeadows don’t seem to be on side.

Maybe there really is a language barrier that is hampering the government’s messaging to these communities but I doubt it’s Arabic or Sudanese. It is the government not speaking the language of commonsense – of naming and shaming uncontaminated schools while the virus ran rampant through a meatworks, of police herding fishermen off a pier while allowing thousands to gather in the streets, of blaming families and workers for not doing the right thing while their own staff were making equally idiotic mistakes.

Now the whole country will suffer while Victorians go into Lockdown Mark II. The road to hell might be paved with good intentions but it is almost always sealed with hypocrisy."

These are Federal GP Medicare with Vic Health merely as default door knockers.

Scomo controls / funds Vic - Kits, GP-Labs, Locations...gives Vic Health copies of Results.
Scomo is even picking up Vic Hot Hotels tab & ring ins...all his doing. All can see this! Yes!
Qld pay own & NSW soon to pay more...crew can also see this!
21 June AHPPC (Fed Govt) Bossed Vic Govt to commence Hot Spot Lockdowns.

Crew can all agree that more Testing = Higher Cases / Fear / Panic > Vic Labor ruin.
Scomo controls Test [Postcodes] > [Spread] > [Case No's] to puppet Vic Premier.
Turn on Lib TV or Read Lib News to see "Labor's" Covid 19 numbers keep rising.

Scomo is 100% running the numbers game in Victoria. (Vic Labor have no say!)
As said! Vic Health can only do what AHPPC tell them & what Scomo wants.

Fed Govt pay ($50 - Fed's choice Public Test)> ($100- US mates GP Private Test)
Ends 30th September...PM has not confirmed $100 Test extensions past then.
Again you see. Feds are calling all the shots & Timeline of cases ...(Not Vics!)
PM decides if tests run down & where & what pace or can ramp or double down.

PM: Oz /State Hospitals must all refuse (Non Symptom Testing) Frontline Safety!

These outsourced Fed / US-dna - Medicare units run all Community Tests
https://www.hotdoc.com.au/medical-centres/australia/victoria?purpose=res...

Vic Premier : Goal is to test 50% of residents in Hot Spots (Says: Cases will rise!)
Original (Fed Govt) Vic Hot Spot Blitz was 100,000 Tests x 14 days
PM: Vic Blitz Testing (100,000 Tests x 10 days) = (Private Labs mostly = $10m)

Maximum Victoria Pathology is 20,000 Tests/Day + (Army returns interstate tests)
Test results range from 15mins to 10 days ( That's what's been reported?)

Tower Block Blitz + (All Vic 'Test results' are shown) not daily swab testing! Ok!

June 25-716K *26-736K *27-758K*28-776K*29-792K *30-809K

July*1-830K *2-850K *3-880 *4-906.5K *5-928.1K *6-952K *7-979K *8-1.008m *9-1.030m *10- 1.068m *11-1.095m *12-1.1254m

Total Vic 409,400 Tests in 18 days = $40,940,000

Scomo has a pedal to speed up cases + a panic button to elevate Vic fear factor.
tbb is not saying he's evil, just to recognise he 100% bosses his own hot mess.
Premier is just the stooge that mops up Fed Govt AHPPC Covid -19 testing.

Find where Vic Health made a call independent of Fed Govt? (Never permitted!)

Note: Qld took the lead early & paid + run own Lab test kits/no test > fine or accom.
PM still stacks his mate's Corona Labs but Qld Govt can't risk taking the bait.
Otherwise! Scomo would be puppeteering Qld Labor Election Campaign by now?
Just don't ask, how Qld Govt figured that out all by themselves! Smart arse State?

Sure! Vic crew are wise to that, yet invited the beast... now Scomo's plaything.
Vic now has to bypass their Premier & appeal to Scomo's better nature. Like Wot !

This Map represents Fed Labor Seats.

This Map represents pure evil Scomo's outcast Hot Spots (Work of the devil)
https://www.themandarin.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Victoria-activ...

Not a skerrick of difference is there now? Crew can now see why Vic premier looks the fool...
Covd is Lib's Political football. Labor big wigs will cringe to see these Vic maps side by side.
Premier got played big time! Nothing comes for free, not from Scomo's hand...
Vic Labor are seeing red, they are!

PM: Mandatory for Hot Spot Vic Labor Voters to surrender DNA for Lib Upgrades.
PM has Labor voters paint targets on themselves if they refuse Darkside reveals.

"I do, your confirmation bias is tuned to 11.

The BLM protests led to zero cases. They led to zero cases in Vic, Qld, NSW, and every other state.

Vic got caught out by other slips. Your analysis that BLM protests led to a social slippage has zero points of reference or proof. You are a total cipher, a complete pawn in the game of Murdoch and Facebook, you display no analytical or critical faculties, in spite of overwhelming evidence contradicting your position.

But please carry on."

Are you really that ignorant and naive?????

FFS you and Viclocal might have gone, cool no worries 10K people out on the streets, but myself and millions of Victoria were like what the fuck???

We had been told for weeks that extremely low risk activities like, fishing alone, camping with family, playing golf etc we cant do because we are risking everyones safety and if we do these things we risk heavy fines.

One minute fishing alone is a high risk activity the next minute 10K people are out on the streets virtue signalling and not one fine????

Complete joke, complete mockery of all the restrictions, it pissed people off and a lot of us said you watch i bet in a week or two, we wont be surprised if infections rise and just like clockwork bang it happened and muppets like you still deny the connection.

People either went fuck this, why should i make sacrifices when others can do as they wish, or just went okay, well it must be safe now no need to worry, the message sent was very loud and very clear.

A couple of people with Covid were linked to the protest, but that's the ones we know about the ones that have been tested, how many cases have gone unreported?

Many people don't even get symptoms many people with mild symptoms might not have got tested, some with mild symptoms might have chosen to self isolate and see how they went rather than be one of the fools linked to the protest.

Complete mess and completely preventable. (just like quarantine mess)

Only reason the protesters were not told they would be fined is the subject matter, any other topic even a global warming protest and it would have been nipped in the budd quick smart...organisers should have been treated with jail time if they went ahead.

Same deal with people like you, only reason you wont accept the link is the subject matter of the protest.

Au contraire mon knucklehead, this article goes directly to your point but oddly the attached public comments would suggest your assertion is pure bullshit.

GS, mon knucklehead-in-the-sand, please choose a more reputable source as 'proof' of your ignorance - The Age public comments could not be any more biased towards Labor if they tried. To blinkered people like you, BLM is so, so important that the deaths of hundreds/thousands is just an unfortunate by-product. Like the dickhead who organised the ER rally despite being told the risk, you can't see the wood for the trees.

You know that ECL / High Pressure under Tasmania weather pattern that's been creating shit surf conditions in Victoria? Well I blame Dan Andrews for that too.
