Interesting stuff

Yes that’s Adelaide Hills stuff that I think is crap. I’m not a believer by the way. Just a wondering mind. I wonder?

seeds wrote:I agree totally but it makes you wonder what they are describing. Rational people as you or I.
BTW you quoted the Conservative above not me.
Seeds. My apologies, typo. Good to chat. I’d never use one of his quotes for any topic. i agree it does make you wonder as the folk didn’t sound like they were akin to those in the movie, Deliverance. Thylacine had a very rounded pronounced muscular rump/tail, very powerful animal, coupled with very strong upper leg muscle’s especially at the rear. Their jaw dislocation point is somewhat further back than normal and i don’t t see any of those features on show in that footage. But, thanks for the story. Maybe is it true, i just don’t know.

It’s a sad state of affairs Syppo. I gotta say I think my sons are rising above it all at 17 and 19 years of age.
17 year old appears to be impervious to negativity and my 19 year old son has been troubled by it for years with mental health has realised after 10 months of working at his apprenticeship that he doesn’t need to look at his socials. Recently up at Agnes for 2 weeks working and could not get a hold of him. Finally told me fuck the phone I’m looking at nature when I’m not working. Good boy.

I can't remember the last time I heard any good news come out of western Sydney. Another reason not to go there. $1 million for a 3 bedroom apartment in Parramatta. Why would you?

I love Western Sydney, a lot of good stuff is happening there.

flollo wrote:I love Western Sydney, a lot of good stuff is happening there.
Example?

I did a stint there when young for work, every single aspect sucked except one thing, the girls so many girls of all ethnicities and i found being a surfer from elsewhere and not a born and breed westie made me a novelty to them which i didn't mind and made the most of :D

Ms Rinehart's $15 million lifeline over the next four years — to a sport that is in around $7 million debt — is in a holding pattern as the Diamonds team support First Nations squad member Donnell Wallam who expressed an objection to wearing a uniform with the Hancock logo on it.
It is not hard to understand why she found it objectionable.
Wallam's parents would have been young adults in 1984 when Lang Hancock, founder of Hancock Prospecting and father of Gina, suggested a plan that would kill off troublesome Indigenous people.
"Those that have been assimilated into society and are earning a good living, and earning wages amongst the civilised areas, that have been accepted into society and accept society and can handle society, I'd leave them well alone," Lang Hancock said.
"The ones who are no good to themselves and can't accept things, the half-castes — and this is where most of the trouble comes — I would dope the water up so that they were sterile and would breed themselves out in future, and that would solve the problem." https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-10-18/pressure-building-for-diamonds-ne...

Stumbled across this article. The same could be written for Australia.
“Canada is a lucky country. We create wealth by digging holes into the ground and selling what comes out, or by letting well-educated young people into our country. We are shielded by great oceans, and we have no intractable enemies on our borders. Such easy prosperity and safety have blinded us to the fact that they came in large part through luck and inheritance, and not the intrinsic wisdom of our rulers and people. If we do not up our national game, we might as well not bother playing.“

This was on ABC radio today and they were saying how all levels have gone down except spelling, and they are acting confused on why this is, and im thinking okay they are going to tell us the obvious any minute and they never did???
Is it just me or isn't it obvious why?
Spell check is on PC's and phones we are always getting taught the correct spelling, you type in how you think the word is spelt and you either get it right or spellcheck says no its wrong and corrects it, you see it and your learn the correct spelling, next time you spell it correctly or eventually or if its not instantly changed and comes up wrong you go okay i know what it is now or you click on it and find out.
It basically teaches you to spell, hence why spelling would have improved.
On the flip side the down grade in writing skills and punctation you would expect would be explained by kids reading less books where things are constructed in a proper manner, opposed to kids reading crap online, social media etc that teaches you bad habits.
Honestly I'm still a terrible speller, still terrible at grammar and sentence construction the whole lot, but scarily since the internet I've still improved more than i did at school, and i now see mistake in others writing which makes me feel good knowing there is those worse than me.

When I was at uni only a few years ago, it blew me away that so many young people could barely construct a sentence.
It seemed like every third person was semi-literate.

Wot a lode of rubbish

No chance. As it is the Commonwealth Bureau of Meteorology, shouldn’t it be called the CBom?

Ha, our new logo says BOM but don't call us that! Weird.

And now it shall forever be known in Australia as BOM

Sad when a world class surfer can’t get backed but If you’re not marketable, you’re no value to the brand.
He needs to get sponsored by Bunnings

Thats a really good sponsor for Cal.
Stoked for him.

$40. Holy Crap! For a run of the mill white ceramic mug!
You can get a Yeti for that. And at least the Yeti won't spill and keeps whatever drink you want in it hot/cold for hours.

C'mon fellas, it's not cheap being a hipster.
Those 80 series cruisers, mid length twins and hats with that certain "devil may care" attitude don't buy themselves.
Not to mention weekends away at Plomer.

Swellness Summit started today...

Big UFC card tomorrow.
So what are people thinking?
Oliveira v Makhachev
O’Malley v Yan
Sterling v Dillashaw
Predictions?

Oliveira is the favourite although I think it will be a brave man to discount Makhachev considering the mental and physical fortitude of people from that region.
I think Yan could well walk through O’Malley but O’Malley has great footwork and fast hands. Plus a big reach advantage. Could see Yan getting inside to use those leg trips he likes.
The last fight I’m a bit more ambivalent about but I can’t say I’m a fan of Sterling.

My prediction is none of the local establishments will be screening it. As usual. I like a brew and a fight card. Cabs and especially Uber won’t return me to my boring arse town from anywhere that is screening it because of the distance. No shit I want to take over the lease on my local.

So multiple establishments don’t screen it? Must be quite a small town or a very non-cooperative demographic :)

5am in AEDT though, I think.
That may be the reason.

Okay didn’t realise that but no different. Demographic but also alcoholic abusive micro managing publican that sits at end of bar from early arvo until closing scaring his staff and any potential decent punters from staying there or coming back. Makes most of his money from bottle shop and has plenty of money from elsewhere so doesn’t give a rats.

Yep. It’s in Abu Dhabi … early start.
Charles vs Islam is a high level fight, skill level of these two is impressive…

This will be more interesting than a fishing shirt. I’m intrigued.

What do you reckon FR, you’re usually interested in these things?

AndyM wrote:Big UFC card tomorrow.

Islam for the win by submission or ground and pound.
I hope Yan beats some sense into O'Malley either that or beats him senseless.
Barracking for Dillashaw but don't care much either way.

@andym
I can’t split charles v islam… has the potential be a technical masterpiece I reckon tho.
Charles says ko first round and khabib says islam will run thru charles ;)
I think it’ll b a proper dog fight. Charles’ experience and ability off the back is huge - and anything close to khabib is just plain scary…
Decision.
Petr will destroy shaun

What channel do you guys subscribe to? Is it an on going affair or pay for view?

seeds wrote:What channel do you guys subscribe to? Is it an on going affair or pay for view?
Foxtel for prelims. I don't do PPV. I'll check results / highlights and wait for replays.

Prelims as the fights before? Or do you mean you can watch non title fights on fox for free?

seeds wrote:Prelims as the fights before? Or do you mean you can watch non title fights on fox for free?
Both. I have a foxtel box which I think is old technology now. I can record, so usually do. I don't think you can record on the Telstra version of foxtel, so if you're considering it be careful which way you go.

Just remember, unless you join in and pay the bucks, you won't get closer to your "own true nature", you'll remain a hollow shell, possibly a self-deceptive fraud.
How cool is wellness, how cool is advertising?? :)
