Scotty has done a backflip on the Indian flight ban.

Flights will resume with passengers quarantining [drum roll] at Howard Springs ..... FFS what a complete train wreck

Okay so in other words you admit it's fake news and just trying to join dots.

Because the travel ban is still in place, hence no back flip, but will be re-looked at weekly but likely to stay in place to at least the 15th May.

And Howard springs, it's already being used for quarantine including for people from India who arrive in NT, so off course will continue to do so when ban is lifted for India, but very hard to see them transporting people from other international arrivals point to Howard Springs.

No info on last night's news and 730 Report it was clearly stated, Scotty's Immigration Minister no less. The ban will be lifted on the 15th to coincide with the Howard Springs expansion which will accept Australian citizens returning from India exclusively. Like every other thing Scotty does its being stage managed to ensure it doesn't look like he has no faith in the hotel quarantine system (which he doesn't) because, you know, the alternative is Morrison accepting his constitutional quarantine responsibilities and running Howard Springs like facilities in every state.

Argh so now you're changing your tune from "scotty has done a back flip on the India ban", to admitting it's staying in place to the 15th May so no back flip at all.

The other news on Howard Springs expansion is old news and was planned long before the India ban.

This article is from the 19th April and even at that point he said:

" Last month, Prime Minister Scott Morrison also announced the Howard Springs facility would expand to accept 2,000 returned Australians a fortnight, up from 850."

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-04-19/nt-covid-cases-recorded-howard-sp...

So the dots you are trying to connect aren't even there.

The hotel quarantine system isn't perfect but considering how fast it had to happen the system has been very successful. (only one major screw up, lets not talk about that one)

100% in an ideal world ever state would have Howard spring facilities, but the real problem in Australia is we have high levels of bureaucracy & over regulation which means something that should happen within weeks to months max, could end up taking a year or more, not to mention a guarantee of cost blow outs etc

Thats one thing you have to respect with China them building that hospital for Covid patients within weeks was crazy, in Australia they couldn't even get a site approve in that amount of time.

Really?are u dreaming?are u serious?

Imagine if Slowmo's remote quarantine had been done properly and we didn't have CBD hotel chaos resulting in mass lock down,QR check in,ruining peoples incomes and not to mention failure to take care of our most vulnerable, the elderly in rest homes!

Please don't mention how difficult the logistic would be for remote quarantine when orchestrating major metro centers into lock down's have been regularly enforced.

Imagine?.................socouldabeendonewaybettabruddha!

If Scomo had done quarantine properly we’d still be looking at annual 200K permanent and 500K “ temporary “ population growth courtesy of his Big Australia Ponzi.

Thank Christ for Scomo’s incompetence as it’s the only thing handicapping his corrosive immorality regarding Australia’s future.

There have been suggestions for other quarantine sites but the LNP consistently play politics with the issue to make them harder to get up and running.

The suggestion here was to use an existing empty, high quality setup and the LNP ran out pure bullshit to prevent it from happening. Nothing to do with over regulation

There a THOUSANDS of massive ocean cruise liners sitting dormant that could be utilized in a similar way to how the USA used a navy hospital ship off New York during the peak. These luxury ships all have excellent medical facilities. They can be anchored in EG Port Phillip Bay, Botany Bay, Moreton Bay, Gulf of St Vincent, Inside Garden island near Fremantle. That has them close enough to capital cities for emergencies and workers, but also totally quarrantined from society,.
Cruise liner companies are going broke. I'm sure they would fall over eachother for a gov' lease contract to at least break even and have cash flow.
You know it makes sense.

I havent read or heard about this and i have zero interest in reading about it.

But basically it's similar to the other topic of X politicians being gifted jobs.

Quite simply if it's legal then it is what it is and just part of politics and business and if legal id assume it's not the first time it's happened or limited to the LNP.

Where is Andrew Robb when you need him haha.

While he was LNP Minister for Trade and Investment, Robb approved Chinese company Shandong Landbridge Group to lease Port Darwin for 99 years. As soon as he left politics, Robb was hired by Shandong Landbridge on a $880,000 per year salary. In 2019, Robb left the position, shortly before a new foreign-interference law took effect.

If you look into the art of lying there are usually "tells" to a liar.
A liar will often divert their eyes, or close them in a long blink, or too many small blinks. They will touch their face or hair or even more subtle gestures that reveal they are lying.
A liar will often mispronounce or garble words, there is a slight disconnect in their expression and thought because they are ahead of themselves constructing the next lie. That lie or it's wording "leaks" into the sentence they are speaking, so a word normally expressed easily becomes garbled with a word from the lie. Watch Morrison speak. He does it every time.

Ha ha yeah right...i am not talking about his stutter, if you go back and watch the footage from when he is younger you can see a huge difference, it's just life, we won't live for ever old age will catch up with most of us.

But Adam could also be correct and that the need to BS more which he clearly does is enhancing things.

Yeah yeah Trump was also a liar, but i guess he had it down pat, so doesn't affect his speech so much.

Would love to see the breakdown of stats for each state in how many days their quarantine system has been operating since Covid, Vic's has been paused at times so safe to assume it's operated the lease amount of time.

Would also love to see the stats on how many return travellers each state has taken, assume NSW is leading. (both these two factors increase risk)

Would also love to see the comparison of how each state has dealt with leaks, how many days total have they needed to go into lockdown? (is Vic still one of the longest lockdown in the world?)

Safe to assume Vic is way ahead, NSW has also been much smarter in just locking down areas needed.

Pretty clear who's doing better out of Vic & NSW in these stats, not even close.

Here’s the RBA speaking the truth on how mass immigration pushes down wages. There’s been people on here over the years who despised this fact and refused to accept it. They and their falsehoods, lies and spin can go and get fckd.

“The effects on labour supply have been observed mainly in some labour supply shortages in the industries that typically employ a larger share of migrants…

Given the current domestic availability of labour, strengthening labour demand as the economy transitions from recovery to expansion is likely able to be met from within the domestic population in the near term.

However, a sustained period of economic recovery could lead to wages pressures emerging more quickly if new labour supply remains constrained, particularly and foremost in areas of domestic skills shortages…

The longer border restrictions remain in place… the more likely that localised labour shortages could translate into some wage pressures as the economy continues to strengthen.“

Companion pieces in respect to Australian house prices :

“A fairy tale of Sydney

A friend of the wife has a relative who is a bricklayer ……just bought a 4 million dollar house

How can you do this ?

Trade up over 3 or 4 houses in the last 7 or 8 years and at each step give the NSW government a big chunk of dosh as stamp duty and ride the equity tiger

End result is you end up with one house marginally better than the one you started with ….but still just a house
…and what about the wealth effect. ?…..your house is still only worth marginally more or less than the one a few streets away

So what am I missing ?”

Plus

“Nigel Tufnel : The numbers all go to eleven. Look, right across the board, eleven, eleven, eleven and…

Marty DiBergi : Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?

Nigel Tufnel : Exactly.

Marty DiBergi : Does that mean it’s louder? Is it any louder?

Nigel Tufnel : Well, it’s one louder, isn’t it? It’s not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be playing at ten. You’re on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you’re on ten on your guitar. Where can you go from there? Where?

Marty DiBergi : I don’t know.

Nigel Tufnel : Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?

Marty DiBergi : Put it up to eleven.

Nigel Tufnel : Eleven. Exactly. One louder.

Marty DiBergi : Why don’t you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?

Nigel Tufnel : [pause] These go to eleven.”
