The synoptic charts are about as complex as they can get.
So, the weekend’s forecast has been scaled up a little since Monday's notes were issued. More in the Forecaster Notes.
A gradual increase in NE and E/NE swell through this period with generally poor winds until later in the weekend.
An inconsistent and flukey swell for tomorrow with good winds for exposed breaks, tiny to flat until later Sunday.
Easing surf with great conditions across the South West tomorrow morning, large through the weekend but with average winds.
Strong to gale-force damaging winds forecast for the region as a deep and powerful low develops to our east, aimed squarely at the South Coast.
Very dynamic setup developing with a tricky low generating a south-east windswell though with what looks to be favourable conditions. Good groundswells in the mix as well through the period.
Plenty of swell to come this period for all locations with strong North Pacific storms and a typhoon swell.
Lots of wind and swell developing mid-late week and holding through the weekend but not improving until late week.
