Make the most of the current swell, though there is another good one for the weekend but with less favourable winds.

Massive surf from the Moreton Bay Islands across the Gold Coast and down through Northern NSW will continue until the cyclone crossing, with much smaller surf on the Sunshine Coast and into temperate NSW. It’s been an epic event with a gnarly exclamation point expected as Alfred makes landfall.
The end of the week should be fun inside the gulf with the South Coast magnets being the pick on the weekend.
The end of the week isn't great with better options for the weekend.
Good swell later this week and into the middle of next week with building SE trade-swell for the Maldives.
With the storm now south of Fraser (K'gari) we’ll see most of the swell blocked by that Island.
The surf will be small to tiny with a few southerly, onshore days in the mix.
Alfred is expected to move SE today, generating mod to large swells down the NSW coast (it’s already solid in the sub-tropics!) and reaching all the way down to Tasmania.
Tomorrow will be windy with building levels of swell while Wednesday looks the pick, though with strong, tricky offshore winds. Another good swell is due Sunday but with wind.
TC Alfred (982hPa) is currently about 465 km east north-east of Brisbane and moving SE at 7kts holding intensity as a Cat 2 system continuing to generate pumping cyclone surf.
