While all of this is going on, Tropical Cyclone Cook will have crossed New Caledonia, reentered the lower Coral Sea under a SW track but then recurved to the SE, towards New Zealand. This cyclone looks really impressive with surface winds upwards of 85kts, however there are several limiting factors that will impact surf size for us.
A new SW swell should build through tomorrow with offshore winds through the morning, smaller Wednesday with a small window of light winds. S/SW swell will fill in for Thursday through the weekend with varying conditions.

Best Days: Thurs/Fri: solid swells from the SE plus a smaller NE swell Thurs, with offshore winds. Sat/Sun: rebuilding S'ly swells, plus a small long range E'ly swell. Mainly favourable winds. Mon: rapidly easing SE swell with a slowly easing E'ly swell, and offshore winds.
Average conditions tomorrow, with plenty of swell and favourable winds from Wednesday across both coasts.
Onshore winds with plenty of swell tomorrow, improving Wednesday and best Thursday as the surf eases. More swell for the weekend as winds improve again after a late week onshore change.
We’re still looking at a couple of tropical cyclones in the South Pacific over the forecast period.
Easter outlook is UNREAL regardless with good winds and a solid mix of S/SE swells plus a couple of E/NE swells from these cyclones and their surrounding features.
Saturday morning looks good down south.
The rest of next week looks busy with a steady progression of Southern Ocean storms generating back to back moderate SW groundswells for the region.
This front will clear to the east on Sunday leaving the region with light E/SE winds ahead of a weak afternoon sea breeze. As such we’re looking at an excellent day of sizeable waves across the region with fantastic conditions.
