Easing S/SE swell with W/SW tending SW winds tomorrow, persisting from the SW Friday with a new SW swell. Cleaner over the weekend but small to tiny.
Thursday is also expected to see a new, building long period S/SE swell all day, generated by an intense polar low that formed off the ice shelf over the weekend. But, the erratic swell source (possibly contaminated by Antartican ice floes) and enormous travel distance guarantees a couple of things: very inconsistent set waves, and low confidence for any notable surf.
Steadily easing S/SW swell tomorrow with strong offshores, easing ahead of sea breezes. Small groundswell pulses for the rest of the period but with average winds from Sunday.
Plenty of swell to end the week with winds favouring south facing beaches. We have a dormant weekend ahead, with better prospects on Monday and into next week.
Hot northwesterly breezes are likely to keep conditions clean on Thursday, before a gusty southerly buster rips up the coast generating a sizey, low quality windswell for Friday. Persistent southerlies are likely to limit options to open beaches over the better part of the weekend, improving slightly on Sunday. Monday and Tuesday are looking good for a fun southeasterly swell of a developing Tasman low.

Large N/NW groundswell for tomorrow morning, ahead of another slightly smaller pulse Tuesday night, easing ahead of an XL swell Friday.
