This week and weekend (Dec 1 - 7)

Our new E/NE swell event for the weekend is still on track, as is the N/NE windswell in the mix Sunday.

A broad Tasman Low moving tracking slowly east-southeast across the Tasman Sea has generated a great fetch of strong E/NE winds through our eastern swell window from yesterday, through today.

We'll continue to see E/NE winds aimed at us through tomorrow morning before the low weakens into the afternoon and evening.

We should see a fun and prolonged E/NE swell event, building to 2-3ft through tomorrow, holding Sunday and then easing from the 2ft range Monday.

Winds tomorrow look great with a W/NW offshore through the morning, freshening from the N/NW into the afternoon.

Come Sunday a burst of strong to near gale-force N/NE winds off our coast in our swell window early in the morning will kick up a spike in N/NE windswell to an easy 3ft, if not for the odd bigger one.

Winds at dawn will still be strong from the N/NW but a W'ly change will move in shortly after dawn. With this the N/NE windswell will drop rapidly into the afternoon.

Monday will be clean with gusty W/NW winds and the easing E/NE swell.

Through the rest of next week there's nothing significant at all on the cards until later in the week when we may see a fun N/NE windswell event. More on this Monday and have a great weekend!
