If you must know i saw Brutus posts asking why i didn't address some of his points on the day the thread got locked, i had started a post on my lunch break (only working a few blocks from home), left it to go back to work, latter that day i finished the post, clicked return and the damn thread was already closed. (can totally understand why it was shut though)

I dont think Stu would appreciate us digging up the topic again, but i will give you a basic run down:

Different cultures, values, human rights, womens rights etc when isolated from each other don't all evolve at the same rate of change, the clear example of this can be seen in PNG which was also isolated from the outside world had colonisation to an extent but the country population is still 99.9% original inhabitants, culture & languages still practised, self governed, doesn't have the past mistreatment of indigenous people like we do (massacres, stolen generation, missions etc)

So its impossible to say all these issues in PNG are because of colonisation, intergenerational trauma, racism or any other one word lazy catch phrase.

Yet what is the situation like? (what is your explanation for the situation there?)

PNG has almost all the same problems seen in remote Indigenous communities, extremely high levels of violence, especially domestic and sexual based violence, one off the highest homicide rates in the world many other issues. (i believe its only suicide rates that are not crazy)

I don't believe it's the people as such but more about development of cultures that have been isolated from the world, and then you get aspects from the west like easy access to alcohol that fuels these things, and then for remote (Australian)indigenous communities you have the added effect ive already talked about with being thrust from having a clear purpose that being everyday survival and understanding the unknown and environment to being thrust into a state of social welfare boredom where purpose is taken and replaced with a dole cheque.

At least have a think about this, think about how different cultures evolve in regards to just simple things like, how they approach disputes, do they talk things out, or is violence used, who decides men or all the community, how do cultures traditional treat women or equality, how we partner up (arranged marriages, age differences etc)

There is so many different little factors, long ago we all started at the same point, but we are all evolving to another point much of that evolution only happening in the last 200 years especially the last 50 years or less, all our cultures now influence each other and change each others cultures, on a world scale we have for most of the world expected general standards and values, or they are coming closer together.

I didn't avoid Brutus questions because i couldn't or didnt want too answer them firstly the post he is referring too i actually had replied too just not all his points, i was also just trying to be tactful and trying to be respectful, seeing although i disagree with his narrative and follow a narrative closer to other indigenous people like Jacinta price, Anthony Dillion, Warren Mundine etc i respect that it's something close to his heart, the conversation between me and Brutus was going fine before others turned the thread into a shit storm,(that i played no part in) only reason i decided to give a reply(that never got posted due to thread being shut) was because he asked for a reply.
