I received a lot of abuse for saying that high income earners pay their way re taxes . An update .

American Thinker

Incredibly, in 2020, approximately 61% of Americans paid no federal income taxes, according to the Tax Policy Center.

Therefore, approximately 39% of Americans paid all federal income taxes.

They are rewarded for this staggering largess by being told they need to “pay their fair share.” Their “fair share,” one might logically surmise, would be around 39% of the federal income taxes paid, not 100%. The top 20% of income earners pay about 67% of federal taxes. “Progressive,” you know. They should be lauded as pillars of the community, as not only the most productive, but the most charitable folks in society. (Whether they wanted to be or not.) Instead, they are called “greedy” by the self-same people who receive the benefits of this mass income redistribution.

Literally stupefying.

If you make a lot more money than I do, have more wealth than I do, and you are made to give me a bunch of it, how is it that I could possibly get away with calling you greedy? Am I not the greedy -- or at least ungrateful -- one?

Then there are the top 1%, who alone pay nearly 40% of all federal income taxes. In a logical world, I’m sure they would love to pay “their fair share” of taxes. Instead, they are openly and arbitrarily shaken down. And reviled. Eat the rich.

In 2017, the top 1% of income earners in the U.S. paid more in taxes than the bottom 90% combined. That is an amazing factoid.

And now taxpayers are supposed to fund free stuff for those who are here illegally. And watch as crime skyrockets due to insane policies that favor criminals over the police.

Speaking of the police, many have left their jobs due to the constant attacks perpetrated against them, figuratively and literally, by the likes of Antifa and BLM and the ignorant, virtue-signaling charlatans in media, academia and Hollywood cheering those groups on.

And now, as we attempt to come out of a pandemic, truckers, pilots, teachers, healthcare workers, coaches, members of the military -- and others -- are being threatened with the loss of their jobs if they decline to receive an experimental gene therapy vaccine into their bodies. And “booster” shots after that, possibly forever.

With the ever increasing and completely illogical attacks on our society’s strong, productive and successful, the rest of us shouldn’t plan on being held aloft for much longer.

It is truly incredible that Atlas has not yet shrugged.

Dawn - I just checked and I think the article is right .

"Then there are the top 1%, who alone pay nearly 40% of all federal income taxes. In a logical world, I’m sure they would love to pay “their fair share” of taxes. Instead, they are openly and arbitrarily shaken down. And reviled. Eat the rich.

Checked here -https://www.federalbudgetinpictures.com/do-the-rich-pay-their-fair-share/

The site shows the top 1% paid 40% in 2018 .

"Top earners remain targets for tax increases, but the federal income tax system is already highly progressive. In 2018, the latest year with available data, the top 10 percent of income earners earned 48 percent of all income and paid 71 percent of all federal income taxes."

And the view that 1% pays the same tax as the bottom 90% is a factoid ie bullshit .

This doesn't account for all the mega wealthy that pay less than the 21% top rate .

Viclocal - I know you are intensely interested in who instigated the riot on the US Capitol . Seems like it could have been a Federal Agent .

Zerohedge

If Revolver News’s previous reporting points to a proactive role of the federal government in relation to the conspiracy cases against Oath Keepers and Proud Boys, the Ray Epps story that follows suggests a similar, yet more egregious, explicit, direct and immediate degree of federal involvement in the breach of the Capitol itself.

Here is a transcript of Thomas Massie’s exchange with the Attorney General, just in case you skipped past the video above.

Rep. Massie: As far as we can determine, the individual who was saying he’ll probably go to jail, he’ll probably be arrested, but they need to go into the Capitol the next day, is then directing people into the Capitol the next day, is then the next day directing people to the Capitol. And as far as we can find. You said this is one of the most sweeping in history. Have you seen that video, or those frames from that video?

AG Garland: So as I said at the outset, one of the norms of the Justice Department is to not comment on pending investigations, and particularly not to comment on particular scenes or particular individuals.

Rep. Massie: I was hoping today to give you an opportunity to put to rest the concerns that people have that there were federal agents or assets of the federal government present on January 5 and January 6. Can you tell us, without talking about particular incidents or particular videos, how many agents or assets of the federal government were present on January 6, whether they agitated to go into the Capitol, and if any of them did?

AG Garland: So I’m not going to violate this norm of, uh, of, of, of, the rule of law.

[Looks down and away]

I’m not going to comment on an investigation that’s ongoing.

Big Tech controlling the Internet .

Authored by Glenn Greenwald via greenwald.substack.com,

It is completely unsurprising to learn, as Politico reported last Wednesday, that the major financial supporter of Facebook "whistleblower” Frances Haugen's sprawling P.R. and legal network coordinating her public campaign is the billionaire founder of EBay, Pierre Omidyar. The Haugen Show continues today as a consortium of carefully-cultivated news outlets (including those who have been most devoted to agitating for online censorship: the New York Times’ "tech” unit and NBC News's “disinformation” team) began publishing the trove of archives she took from Facebook under the self-important title "The Facebook Papers,” while the star herself has traveled to London to testify today to British lawmakers considering a bill to criminally punish tech companies that allow “foul content” or “extremism” — whatever that means — to be published.

This article might change your mind Connie ( ha ha ) .

Would Facebook and Twitter suppressed this news if it was Trump's son ? Read the article for much more .

Notably, it illustrates a partisan divide that now defines so much political debate and news coverage. Though much of the story was reported even-handedly and in-depth by some news outlets, including RealClearInvestigations, it was suppressed at crucial times by anti-Trump Democrats; left-leaning legacy media outlets relying on inaccurate or dishonest and probably partisan intelligence sources; and social media giants Facebook and Twitter.

The greatest consequence was the stifling of an October surprise of potentially historic proportions: Emails from Hunter Biden's abandoned laptop, suggesting an aspiring president mixed up in corrupt foreign dealings by his son, did not break through to wide public awareness during the 2020 presidential campaign, as polling indicated. To this day, the Wikipedia entry for Hunter Biden makes a single passing mention of "a laptop purportedly belonging to Biden."

The Hunter Biden story was suppressed in several ways:

It was suppressed during the first Trump impeachment in late 2019 and early 2020: Democratic House trial managers rejected Republican attempts to call witnesses who could shed light on Hunter and the former vice president's dealings in Ukraine. These included Eric Ciaramella, the "whistleblower" kept anonymous by Democrats and most media who worked on Ukraine policy for Biden when the Vice President was President Obama's "point man" for the country. The impeachment failed in the GOP-controlled Senate, but it nevertheless succeeded in shifting attention from Hunter and onto President Trump's alleged abuse of his office to blackmail Ukraine's leader to destroy his opponent Biden.

It was suppressed late in the 2020 campaign by intelligence sources leaking to compliant major media: When the New York Post last October published exclusives rebutting Joe Biden’s repeated statements that he knew nothing about his son’s business activities abroad, the Biden campaign and its media allies sought to discredit the news, notably quoting intelligence veterans who claimed the release of the Hunter Biden emails had "all the classic earmarks of a Russian intelligence operation."

It was also suppressed late in the campaign by social media. When the New York Post tweeted out the story, Twitter suspended the newspaper’s account, claiming it would not disseminate stories based on hacked materials — even though the Post’s story was not based on such information. And Facebook, in a departure from its moderation practices, admitted to curbing the reach of the Post story before it had been fact-checked at all.

It wasn't until after the election that the New York Post was vindicated: With the laptop in its possession for some time, the FBI revealed that Hunter Biden had long been under investigation, but the probe was kept quiet for fear of tilting the presidential campaign.

Now it is clear the Hunter Biden story is not going away. Revelations continue to emerge from hard drive of the laptop, first obtained by Trump lawyer Rudolph Giuliani. A new book on the Bidens by Ben Schreckinger of Politico, well received by major media, has verified some emails on the laptop. And ethical questions continue to be raised (as recently as last week) over anticipated high-priced sales of novice painter Hunter's abstract artwork to anonymous buyers.

RCI's Hunter Biden Reader, a standing feature to be updated as needed, is arranged by the topic areas below, hyperlinking to reading in further detail. But for an overview of the central issues raised, here are five foundational articles:

ABC News’ 2019 interview, “Hunter Biden Defends Foreign Ventures but Concedes Political 'Mistake,'” in which he conceded that his private ventures have political implications for his father’s career.

Paul Sperry’s October 2020 article for RCI, “Joe Biden's Boosters Wrote Prodigal Son Hunter's Entire Resume,” which reported that virtually all the jobs in his adult life came courtesy of the former six-term senator’s donors, lobbyists and allies.

The New York Post’s exclusive from October 2020, “Emails Tie Biden, Son to Burisma Exec,” which was the first to mine information on the Hunter Biden laptop to challenge his father’s claim that he had nothing to do with his son’s foreign business ventures, including his lucrative service on the board of a Ukrainian gas company, Burisma.

Breitbart’s October 2020 article, “'Big Guy' in Email Was Joe Biden, Recipient Confirms,” on the claims by whistleblower CEO and Biden insider Tony Bobulinski that he personally witnessed Joe Biden discussing business deals with his son.

National Review’s September 2020 article “Hunter Biden's Deals With Russians, Chinese, Kazakhs Etc.,” which detailed a Senate report describing extensive business dealings that Hunter pursued with politically connected foreign nationals while his father was vice president.

Blackers - If you read the summary you would have seen the stories that were suppressed were by the NY Post , ABC News , a book that details a Senate Inquiry ,Breitbart’s . Details on his laptop , why his crappy artwork got shown by a gallery etc .

All these may be right wing . If this was about Trumps son and it came from Iran or the Klu Klux Klan would it have been suppressed and not reported in the mainstream media ?

A very simple question that doesn't need to be fact checked .

We all know the answer . They spent months endlessly reporting on a now proven falsehood - Russian collusion . Something the FBI knew was made up .

They would have LOVED any lap top that could even be remotely linked to Trump , any job Trump Jnr was given , any relationship with hookers or drugs . Imagine their reviews on the art work .

They would have had a field day for FOUR years . They tried to convince the people of the US for 4 years to get rid of him . So did the FBI , CIA , Big Tech and the swamp .

It worked in the end and now the people wish they had not listened to the BS and voted Biden in . Look at the polls .

Russian collusion is not a proven falsehood Hutchy, that's a flat out lie. They were unable to establish it, it was not proven incorrect, not at all. Many people were charged and indeed convicted related to this, despite the intensive efforts to obstruct the investigation - which also led to charges and convictions.

How about you take a look at the approval ratings - there's some good graphics from wikipedia actually:

There's Trumps approval ratings - roughly sitting around the low 40's on average.

Here' Joe Bidens - looks like an average around 50 to me thus far. Only the most recent portion gets as low as Trumps average.

I get that it's only a snap shot of this year, but interesting to see Bidens approval rating on a steady decline, actually seems its now at a new all time low of 42%

Indo, I think what's interesting about those approval ratings charts (there's loads more on the wikipedia page) is to note the general downwards trend overall, across many administrations over the years. I doubt many leaders are going to poll much over 50% for some time. I guess it's indicative of the level of division at this point in time.

Zerohedge

Democrats knowledge of wealth is like the old saying about pornography, they know it when they see it (or in Hunter Biden’s case, when they film it).

But unlike porn, they don’t know where it comes from. Also unlike porn, they know wealth has to be destroyed.

Because wealth is the thing that negates what they call equity. Egalitarianism wasn’t enough. Now we need equal outcomes where each player’s deficits are boosted to make results the same.

What better way to make the rich pay their “fair share” than by seizing the wealth they obviously must have stolen? And using that to even the playing field?

It’s notable that instead of going after the two-and-twenty of the carried interest set, the Democrats sought a mark-to-market tax on equities (a tax on unrealized gains). It was explained as a way to collect capital gains taxes earlier, in order to fund their hyperspend agenda. But it was really a way to collect estate taxes early, as it was structurally designed to force the sale of assets and to destroy wealth.

The wealth tax failed this time because its mechanics were too dumb. That’s what you get when you let Sen. B.S. (obsessed with millionaires and billionaires) and noted Native American Sen. Elizabeth Warren write tax policy.

People asked:

What happens when the market declines? Does the government cut everyone a check?

How is something non-fungible like a piece of real estate valued? Works of art?

What if someone only has one non-financial asset that makes them wealthy?

Do they have to sell it to pay the tax? Take out loans?

This time they couldn’t answer any of those questions. But the details don’t matter, the target does.

Funny that one of the most technologically advanced countries in the world STILL can't count votes properly !!!

"Election watchers are already anticipating calls for a recount in the Garden State. Unlike some places, New Jersey does not have any minimum requirements or guidelines for an automatic recount. A candidate or group of at least 10 voters can petition a Superior Court judge for a recount up to 17 days after the election.

The race has also already been plagued by counting issues that led to vote tallies being doubled in one county and election workers accidentally locking machines in others."

As Stalin said it doesn't matter who the people vote for , what matters is who counts them .

I also wonder why people are against needing to have ID to vote . It probably doesn't make a big difference in Oz but we all know we need ID to do almost everything . Open a bank account , sit an exam - the list is endless . It would make the job of electoral workers easier .

What are the negatives other than having to take your wallet when voting ?

Biden, Harris, Obama + all the other Democrat elite heavily campaigned in Virginia and they all still failed. If you look at the data, Youngkin made huge gains in suburbian, northern suburbs of the state which are parts of the Washington DC metro area and consistently democratic. If you look at for example Loudoun County which is the area around Washington's airport, it has 15%+ benchmark for the Democrats. However, Youngkin managed to gain 5% (still didn't win it - 55 vs 45)and collect a whole heap of additional votes. He actually didn't make some enormous gains in rural, more traditional Republican areas.

It looks like Democrats also lost the house overnight (it was 50-50 yesterday) with an indication that Republican seats might close at 52 (loss of 7 seats for the Democrats). These big swings are not a coincidence and cannot be dumbed down to 'primitivism of the voting body'. Republicans ran a superior campaign and won fair and square.

The office of Special Counsel John Durham has confirmed that Igor Danchenko, a key source for British ex-spy Christopher Steele, has been arrested. This is the third arrest by Durham who is moving toward the prosecution stage of his investigation into the origins of the Russian collusion scandal. Durham is variously described as either painfully methodical or positively glacial as a prosecutor. But he is widely credited with being a dogged and absolutely apolitical prosecutor. Danchenko’s arrest is a seismic development and confirmed Durham is far from done with his investigation.

Washington was recently rocked by the indictment of Michael Sussman, former counsel for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee, for his alleged role in spreading a false Russia conspiracy theory.

Connie - It makes we wonder how the Republicans won the unwinnable election .

The US people must have not been listening to the MSM who called it a 96% shoe in .

Maybe the LNP know something that you don't ie what the majority of people really want ?

Surely Pascoe is right this time ?

Even a broken watch is right occasionally .

Would seem the adage about 'underestimating the American public' has assumed a political angle. No election lost by dragging the debate to the sewer.

good vid supafreak

nothing new... it's all been said before... and it ain't rocket science...

but geez some crew just don't get it

from the vid...

two biggest events...

rich got richer, poor got poorer... with the democrats at the helm...

pandemic, democrats doing it again...

stop thinking you know best!

...and maybe back off on the constant... the all consuming... the peurile... unjustified judgements and condescendation...

inside dude said it, current trajectory dems are heading for political wilderness...

sorry to say it... but...

'the left' have just totally lost touch with the people, its the same here in oz...

once again, nothing new there, no rocket science...

(though it seems large swathes of 'the left' are yet to accept this assessment...)

it seems they can't... almost a decade or more into a 'feels' that started way before trump... and they are yet to get it...

too far gone?

irredeemable?

never thought that before... but geez... what does it take?

Buffalo looked like they were going to get a genuine left wing candidate up for mayor - a nurse, grass roots activist, running on both an economic redistribution and socially progressive platform - until the formidable cashed up Dems machine kicked into gear. As far as India Walton goes, it sounds like money for public schools and affordable housing played well, but that the funds would come from 'defunding' the police, less so.

Can't let a nurse in Roker, they might do something 'progressive', like care for their community...

what's gotta be the biggest political own goal in long long time bites again...

seriously, if the left of politics just had big sit down reality check, and eliminared about 4 or 5 things from their platform, full black listed issues, never to be mentioned again, the right of politics wouldn't stand a chance...

this applies the world over

but ya can't tell em...

anything!

anything at all...

Lol. I should’ve known you’d be balls deep in The Bloody Attack On Democracy on January 6!!!!!!!!!!

The most obvious pisstake in modern political history*, an event so stage managed that it may as well of occurred in a studio, yet it’s red meat to the block headed Anti Trump diehards who’ve had to go hungry since the Russia Russia Russia fantasy had to be quietly walked back.

The people who think the “Capital Insurrection” wasn’t a secret service / DNC production , the ones who believe that a few hundred selfie-taking punters strolling through the building after being corralled by agent provocateurs and then ushered in by a strategically depleted skeleton crew security was a coup attempt, are the type who also believe that ET the Extraterrestrial was a documentary about a real boy’s love for a stranded alien.

*Was actually worse than the “ Trump is a Russian agent “ pantomime. Hard to believe but true.

I love the blow by blow micro breakdown...

such meticulous detail

that somehow... mysteriously... still missed the detail that the rioters were well away at the capitol building whilst trump was still speaking elsewhere...

a minor oversight I guess...

fucking hilarious

I'd love to see such a blow by blow breakdown of some of those other riots...

minor details overlooked or not

The whole thing is theatre from go to whoa. The only reason that some clown out there would take it seriously is because there’s a billion dollar media and political movement crafting the theatre. When BB reads the Washington Post telling the fantasy he believes it as gospel because if he starts questioning the integrity of the Washington Post that might open up a Pandora’s box of unpleasantness which he does not want to contemplate.

It’s particularly telling how effective the propaganda campaign is when you consider that Blindboy has a history of believing the US to be a cynical, manipulative place where any low down scheme and huge lie is just another strategy to enforce the will of the establishment. It wasn’t so long ago that someone like BB KNEW that the US was rotten to the core, who knew that the US would stop at nothing to subjugate and oppress a nation in order to control it and have their way.

Now that the US is doing it to its own people instead of Iraq or some South American nation, people like BB have completely abandoned their beliefs and now side with the US establishment and swallow any ridiculous notion they are fed.

It’s bizarre to watch.

He’s gone from “God fuck Amerika” to “ The US government acts with unquestionable integrity”. And to think…..all it took to launder the evil deeds of the US establishment in the eyes of the mugs like BB was to say “Orange man bad cause he said grab-pussy” and the rest of the war mongering human filth is now unimpeachable in their behaviour.

It’s the exact same crew behind the scenes who invaded Iraq, who want to assassinate Assange, who want to destroy Syria …..yet BB is on THEIR side! Against the American people themselves no less. BB has been told by the same US propaganda war machine responsible for the “Weapons of mass destruction” that over 100 million US citizens are irredeemable racists who are planning to destroy democracy……and he believes them!

How can you fix that kind of stupid?

yep, most interesting to watch if nothing else...

it really is quite bizarre

I still have a little faith he doesn't actually believe the bullshit, and is just balls deep in the propaganda war...

but with the mindless doubling down on the mindless double downs...

I'm thinking that's no longer the case

Interesting piece over at Beachgrit today. Just think ….the people quoted in the article are those who opposed Trump the most wholeheartedly. They are the US establishment. They didn’t wantbTrump and so they launched a war against him.

……And BB sided with them!

It goes to show the power of propaganda.
