Titima Mange - The King of Kavieng
Nicholas Warhurst
Monday, 9 May 2011
Tags: Last month the fourth annual PNG surfing titles took place at Kavieng and local surfer, Titima Mange, took the open honours again. Since he won the juniors at PNG's first national titles in 2007, Titima has been a mainstay on the winners dais.
According to Nicholas Warhurst, who has travelled to Papua New Guinea three times and also took these photos, Titima "shreds in a total island style".

While We Were Sleeping
Peter Chrichton
Thursday, 5 May 2011
Tags: Way back in Easter...yeah, a whole two weeks ago...the East Coast was lumbering under a solid flat spell replete with persistent onshore winds. To make matters worse WA, SA and Vicco especially, were pumping during the five day break.
Rather than hit the highway south or west, Pete Crichton jetted to Fiji and scored Cloudbreak in all its thunderous glory.

Thursday, 5 May 2011
Tags: The second day of the Nike 6.0 Lowers Pro saw World Tour surfer Jadson Andre, young local talent Tanner Gudauskas, and up-and-comer Gabriel Medina, push performance barriers in the clean one-to-three foot waves at Lower Trestles to post the highest scores of the event.
Andre locked into a clean lefthander to unload the highest single wave score of the comp, a nearly-flawless 9.87 out of 10 with an impressive combination of powerful carves before pulling out his signature, frontside air-reverse to add to his 8.60 for the highest heat total of the event (18.47 out of 20).

Cape Solander - Home and Away

Thursday, 14 April 2011
Tags: It may have been the Maroubra fellas that broke it to the mainstream but it was Cronulla surfers that were the first to ride Cape Solander. They surfed it for four or five years, joined by a few bodyboarders, among them Cronulla legend, Steve Doney.
Later on, in the 1980's, a group of Cronulla bodyboarders began surfing it and gave it the name Cape Fear (or Deniro's).
