It's all carpark banter for the first three minutes, but the vision after that is worth your while.

Still shots show Portugal's Cave to be a perfect Euro slab, but the video footage belies something else. An irregular bottom makes for an unpredicatble pitch with some waves requiring a low traverse across the steps and boils, while the bigger sets clamp and need a high line run. Then there are those that simply can't be ridden, requiring an ejector seat dismount.

There’s the vid of Slater and Seabass surfing that wave.

Seabass walking back up afterwards, “I survived. Holy Crap! That’s one of the gnarliest waves I’ve ever seen.”

Getting washed up on those very sharp rocks is not worth it in my opinion.
