Watch: Teahupoo // July 28th, 2025
Kyron Rathbone's Tahiti visit hasn't been all fun and games. Yeah, he's been splashing the paint around and playing king of the kids, but three days back the waves got serious and levity was pushed aside for something a bit more stern.
Teahupoo has been paddled bigger but the sharp west angle made every wave a vicious bowl, the severity contrasted by clear skies and translucent water.
The usual suspects tag-teamed the sets: Eimeo with expected grit, Gilbert displaying Mason Ho-level improv skills - check the booger drop in at 2:20 - but the honours went to Matahi Drollet for yet another wave that stretched the bounds of possibility.
Stay tuned for an early forecast to the upcoming Tahiti Pro.

drollet's wave is unbelievable. that wonky high line over the foamball is just so extreme on such a sucky west bowl. one for the ages, for sure (up there with nathan florence's ridiculous one from years ago)
Weightless over foamballs is so fn sick.
a thousand per cent agree it's rad as hell
I was also impressed with Eimeo's last wave; paddling backwards up the face, yet still going.
Yep. That was insane!!
Tahiti FC looks off the hook. FT will be shitting himself the poor bugga.
Where's Fillipe...
IS Drollet in the comp as a wild card?
Nope. No Matahi, no Gabe.
How the hell is Matahi Drollet not in this comp?
And Eimeo?
They should be wild carded straight in.
What a sick edit. Loved the vibes. Those fellas are nuts.
