Watch: Nate Behl // Tube Hog
Not a pro surfer, not a free surfer, Nate Behl made a name for himself as a surf guide in the Mentawais. He'd make impromptu cameos in various edits simply by virtue of being on the biggest and heaviest sets. He may not have been the star, but you can't leave performances like that on the cutting room floor.
Though he calls Florida home, Nate has been on the road the last few years, bouncing between Indo and Hawaii. The result is a swag of great waves, about four minutes worth, all of it getting barrelled. Here it is, topped and tailed, with a fitting title to boot.
PS: I'm calling the wave at 0:38 arguably the heaviest Kandui wave I've seen.

Love seeing relatively underground guys like this... the standard of surfing to me is mindboggling, they're making Kandui look easy but you look closer they getting bounced, bucked, slowing down, speeding up, its overhead, he's backside, it just kees throwing for ever.... thrilled with my own modest surfing life but would also give my left nut to have reached that standard and know what that feels like - thanks all, great clip

NDC, I'm with you about how good it would be be, though I'd decline giving up a nugget for the privilege. I reckon the real question is how the fark those guys keep putting themselves in such hairy situations knowing what could happen.
That session with Ando on his 5ft something hypto kryto was also right up there for the heaviest waves i've seen at that joint

Fuck they really had to wrangle couple of those waves and others clean as , nice to here the band playing that track put a lot of effort into the lyrics!!!!
