Widely regarded as the most important junior surfing event in NSW, the Ocean & Earth NSW Junior Surfing Titles is set to go off with a bang.

Beginning next Wednesday, 28 July and running through to Sunday, 1 August the best juniors across the 10 Surfing NSW regions will congregate at the twin towns of Forster/Tuncurry on the NSW Mid North Coast.

The five day event will see 220 surfers battle it out across six divisions for prestigious titles and selection into the esteemed Australian Junior Surfing Titles.

Littered with current and former World and Australian Junior Champions, as well as top-rated ASP Australasian Pro Juniors, this year's event illustrates the abundance of world-class talent within NSW.

"You cannot downplay the importance and prestige of Ocean & Earth NSW Junior Surfing Titles," Surfing NSW CEO, Mark Windon stated.

"It is the gateway for our junior surfers to the Australian Junior Surfing Titles and ultimately the ISA World Junior Titles," he said.

Historically, NSW surfers have gone on to dominate the Australian and ISA World Junior Titles highlighting the incredible depths of talent in the state, with two of last years champions now world junior champions.

"Last year Matt Banting (Port Macquarie, NSW) and Tyler Wright (Lennox Head, NSW), after surfing in this event went on to dominate the Australian and World Titles - this speaks volumes for the level of junior talent here in NSW," Windon continued.

"The Ocean & Earth NSW Junior State Titles is a great stepping stone to the careers of any budding professional surfer, we are pleased to associated with the development of such world-class talent."

Led by the likes of Banting, former Australian, and reigning NSW, champion Cooper Chapman (North Narrabeen, NSW), Oscar Scanes (Old Bar, NSW), Damo Norman (Casuarina, NSW), Jake Sylvester (Bar Beach, NSW) and Connor O'Leary (Cronulla, NSW), the blue-ribbon, under 18 boys event is stacked with the future of Australia's professional stars.

The Under 18 Girls division also features an amazing line-up with Ellie-Jean Coffey (Crescent Head, NSW), local girl Kate Raines (Forster, NSW) and Codie Klein (Kingscliff, NSW) among those expected to shine.

Competing in the highly sought after Under 16 Boys division will be reigning NSW champion Michael Wright (Lennox Head, NSW), Soli Bailey (Suffolk Park, NSW) and Jack Germain (Port Germain, NSW).

While in the Under 16 Girls it will be Kirsten Ogden (Suffolk Park, NSW) and Veronica Charles (Cronulla, NSW) who will be looking to continue their recent excellent form.
