Don’t ya just hate those MSM outlets?

I hold no affection for Joe. I have a deep and unbending antipathy toward Donnie. And what he represents. Wilful Ignorance, Conscious and Shameless Kleptocracy, a man truly without honour or a sense of service.

they're not the dung beetle...

they're just indoctrinated, hubric to the point of being sociopathic and pathological, and wayward...

they need to identify their issues before they can repair

"...The people in charge stopped being adults, which meant they stopped upholding the values and standards of those who came before and they rationalized this abandonment by telling themselves that the Tik-Tokification of American discourse was harmless or forward-looking or a good way to “engage” Gen Z. They forgot that it was their job not to engage with the young but to teach them.

They were confused, and, in their confusion, they failed to distinguish between influencers — otherwise known as popular people with short shelf lives — and leaders, who were willing to harness and even sacrifice their popularity in the service of something bigger than themselves. Everyone in the land of this new, horizontal, non-elite elite, was a brand now, and they spoke the same stupid, happy lingo of the H.R. Department —  relentlessly upbeat, irony-averse, disingenuous, parochial. They thought the worst thing in the world was to offend. They said amazing a lot.

They were disconnected from the gravity of the moment, because, like all adolescents, they hadn’t yet come into possession of themselves. They were silly and trite and self-important. They were conduits for social-media personalities. They thought bubble-gum phenoms like Benny Drama were clever.

It’s worth noting that the White House released that Benny Drama video — which was meant to encourage all of us to get our vaccinations — weeks after the State Department warned that Kabul was on the brink of falling to the Taliban and exactly one week before all those Afghans crammed themselves into the wheel well and climbed onto the wing of that C-17,  hoping that, somehow, when they opened their eyes, they would be in America.

Our elites’ dereliction of duty, their forgetting — about who they were supposed to be and, just as important, what America was supposed to be — is mostly to blame for the ocean of inanity that has engulfed us. The multiplying stupidities. The mythologies we promulgate online unironically or strategically. The preeners. The pronoun displayers. The opportunists. Michael Moore with his mindless Instagram post about everyone having their own Taliban.

A genuine elite would know enough, be strong enough, to say: enough. To say: no. To say: that is nonsense.

A genuine elite would care little about how many followers it had. It would be steeped in its many responsibilities — to those who had come before and those who were yet to be born — and that sense of responsibility would be reflected in its nourishing and cultivation of the institutions of American life. It would ensure that those institutions remained tethered to their heritage while open to new voices. An ever-expanding, renewing worldview. Like America itself.

Instead, we are governed by weaklings whose weakness has enabled all species of moral relativism. The identitarian left can no longer distinguish between its political foes and those who are truly evil. It cannot see that the “toxic masculinity” it decries extended the lifespans of Afghan women and shielded them from their would-be rapists and enabled their daughters to go to school. The identitarian right wonders aloud why America should absorb the Afghan interpreters who helped us prosecute a 20-year-war in their country. It cannot see that admitting these refugees is a matter not of immigration policy, but of honor and integrity and preserving these values that, it claims, are central to the American character. Both camps have been permanently alienated from their home. Both are incapable of charting a way forward, because they have forgotten, among all the many other things, where we are going. Our ignominious departure from Hamid Karzai International was presaged years ago by their ignorance and cravenness..."

To this date, the TGA has not received any application to register Ivermectin for the treatment of COVID-19, the spokesperson said.
“The TGA cannot compel a company to make an application or approve a medicine in the absence of an application,” the spokesperson told The Feed.

Doctors are able to prescribe existing medicines off-label based on their own clinical judgement, according to the spokesperson.

“It is not illegal but is subject to the clinical discretion of the prescriber with consideration of the potential risks and benefits in the setting of informed consent.”

Maybe but it's being used fairly often now as an excuse and guys are getting housed in female prisons by claiming they're 'trans'. In California it's becone a real problem.

In New York people can be fined $250,000 for 'misgendering' someone.

Some people think human's aren't a sexually dimorphic species while at the same time expressing being offended for being referred to with the 'wrong' pronoun.

My nephew is at an acting school in LA. He and his class mates shot a short film for school. Each performer and crew included their 'preferred pronouns' in the credits.

nuts alright Patrick

a friend recently wanted to volunteer with the Melbourne International Film Festival. Got past the initial phase and invited to attend an 'interview', a group thing where I guess those in charge (she described as probably late 20s hipster [or wannabe] types) were vetting the volunteer's potential. Firstly the guy in her group circle described himself as a 'part-time ADHD sufferer'. She's very rational, so immediately questioned that - what do you mean? that's not something you can turn on or off is it? That was met with deadly silence and death stares from most in the group. Then it was time for introductions, and everyone was asked to include their preferred pronoun. She didnt mention it in her introduction, but was then questioned, to which she replied 'well, I'm a girl, so obviously she'. Again the death stares. By this stage she says she was clearly on the outer, but cheerily carried on as is her character.
A week later and decision day. Surprise, surprise, she didnt get the gig, despite no doubt in my mind she would have been a brilliant and charming volunteer to guide punters around and provide insightful thoughts/comments on the films

Udo -Recent footage shows that Surf Ranch train now has a fair size Solar setup on it .

I checked the article out and am very impressed .

More than a fair size it looks huge for a rural town like Onslow . A great investment ( would not come cheap ) and it does not matter that they so many other social needs that need funding . Looks fantastic with all the units in very nice rows . So organised ! Master planners .

Battery storage has come so far in the last few years and is already producing incredible results .

After a perfect sunny day the batteries are able to power the town for 80 minutes ( not at dinner time ) .

Who cares if it needs a backup ? Kill them as they don't matter .

Yes I am being sarcastic .

I actually think solar power is good udo . Just not a solution for peak load power .

In places like Onslow it is a great solution for power during the the day and anywhere where the sun shines and it is hot . Huge application for wavepools ( as you point out ) as well as air-conditioning during the day .

Have read that the technology is improving in leaps and bounds to enable use in lower levels of sunshine
and temps . Germany is doing incredible work in this area .

The technology of battery storage though , will take decades imo to make even a dint in the need for power when the sun does not shine and for peak loads . The use of all the hard to find and expensive metals ( nickel , cobalt , palladium ( also called unobtainium ) and other " rare earth minerals " work against this technology being a long term solution . In the medium/long-term humans will have invented a brand new energy source I believe and hope . Something incredible like possibly harnessing energy from Dark Matter .

Fascinating video / slideshow supa. A couple of old close family friends went through Afghanistan in the early 70s, on the overland route from Europe to Australia. They said it was totally safe - but the ‘sophistication’ of Kabul was a huge contrast to the rest of the country. I think it still is.

Kandahar is central Pashtunistan. It was the Taliban capital form 1994 onwards. Kabul is something entirely different.
