Thanks for you support Supa,

I didn't really make my point well, it wasn't about the money (I know nursing is way underpaid for the stuff that we do) but really about the fact that the executives who run the hospitals, DHHS and the government never thought...

"Hey, how will we staff the hospital when, we take all these agency and bank nurses out of the hospital system and put them in COVID clinics".

I expect there'll always be inconsistencies and contradictions in the rollout of lockdown/isolation procedues as it was all so sudden and without foresight. But jeez, you'd hope basic measures were in place for extenuating circumstances, and death of a family member has got to be top of the list.

So we'll wear masks, suffer an economic shakeup, postpone travel, all temporary and reconcilable, but to lump grieving families into the same basket is some kind of Stasi bullshit. Fuck that.

You know, in retrospect, as much as my situation hurt at the time, I've kinda come to terms with it. But this poor bloke above who has done everything in his power to ensure he is not a grave threat to society just so he can spend a few precious last moments with his dad burns me. FFS, irrespective of compassion, where is the common sense? Whatever happened to humanity?

And that poor girl last year that had to wear full HAZMAT gear and be under guard to spend 1 HOUR only with her dying relative. What kind of society do we live in?

Btw, I was under exactly the same circumstances as the man above. Secured all the necessary documentation which was no mean feat in itself, but had to fly into Sydney. NSW Health granted me an exemption under compassionate grounds. And I have to say, every step of the way, the people I dealt with were awesome, even QLD health. I was stymied at the last minute by Jeanette Young. I stand by what I said above, I hope she one day finds herself in the same circumstance. But, sadly I know she won't. Those type of people are above the normal population.

There was also the case recently of a new born baby delivered by emergency cesarean. Being prem, the baby was placed in IC, and they refused to let the mother see the baby despite the hospital taking all the necessary precautions. It should be noted also that the mother had been vaccinated well prior to arriving in Australia.

Do they have any ides of what they are doing?

Personally I've had a gutful of all these lockdowns etc. Sure it's a nasty bug for some but we are going to have to learn to live with it. You cannot simply shut everything down when one ore two people come down with it.

Stop trying to wrap people in cotton wool: get the vaccines rolled out through the whole community and get on with life.

A good article, by Matt Taibi. An academic gets in the way of the cultural revolution's mob, and loses his career. He bounces back by presenting his expertise to the web, but lives under a sword of Damocles of censorship afterward:

"This is a significant moment in the history of American media. If a show with the audience that Weinstein and Heying have can be put out of business this easily, it means that independent media going forward will either have to operate outside the major Internet platforms, or give up its traditional role as a challenger of mainstream narratives. "

Also some good stuff on Bret & his wife's training in biology and how they use their expertise today.

Good read i very occasionally watch the odd Dark Horse video's of his, but to be honest i feel a tad uncomfortable at times with some of the narratives that seems kind of conspiracy theory like.

But hey maybe ive also been kind of brainwashed by MSM narrative on some things, i do even remember believing at one point that it wasn't possible that Covid had leaked from the lab as had read articles saying this.

On some things it's honestly so hard to know what to believe these days, and i have so much mixed feelings about censorship by social media etc, on one hand i get it that some views can be dangerous like Anti vaxers but on the other hand i see people being silenced and demonised especially conservatives just because of difference of opinion.

Have to agree indo , It’s not easy with so much mixed information and trying to work out what to believe . I find myself constantly questioning myself on various issues about vaccinations, treatments and the whole pig pharma thing . There has been a few about faces on various issues and It would be nice to believe 100% that big tech , pig pharma health institutions and governments are all trying there best to do the right thing by people but when large volumes of money are involved I’m just a bit sceptical of their motives around decisions that effect us all . It would be nice to see a few medical ICU doctors with a bit more say during this pandemic. Fauci has way to much power for 1 man .

I have a nut case conspiracy mate that keeps going on about masks, this is some one who has worked using the laws of psychics all his life.

1. Keeps saying they filter O2.

2. They don't work or are dangerous because... pick a number of reasons that all generalise missing the fact that either the type is not fit for purpose, not worn correctly or not handled correctly (hygiene).

I gave up the debate and started agreeing saying isn't weird how all those brain surgeons keep using masks ever day they need to stop.

I find it most interesting and hilarious that masks have become such a nutty dividing line in politics, and one for labelling crew 'conspiracy theorists'...

(especially considering crew on here try and write me off as a rwnj, and conspiracy theorists, just for the things I post...)

the rw anti mask nutters are all... freedom fighter / anti big gov. control / we don't need masks... (and a little bit racist tbh...) about not wearing masks

the conspiracy anti mask nutters are all... its a mind control mechanism / rights smashing trojan horse / the virus ain't real / ccp manipulations / I'm a health nut, screw the rest of you... about not wearing masks, and are distributed all across the right / left divide...

and then there's the anti mask rwnj conspiracy nutter combo... who are particularly fervent and funny, ...and often totally contradictory...

to be fair to physics man, there is a plethora of research that supports his claims, ...ffs the WHO and faucci were even citing it for a while there...

but common bloody sense - to anyone without an agenda - says covering your mouth would lessen the spread (fuck it's common decency when you cough....). ...and it also says, breathing through a mask reduces catching the big chunky droplets that could carry a larger 'viral load'... even if the mask is 'loose fitting' and 'not fit for purpose'...

yeh, air borne transmission is now a problem ...now! ...but common sense tells me a shitty loose mask is even better than no mask at all in this situation, ....hence me wearing one on a plane against the WHO advice at the time...

and to be fair to physics man again... how can one not think there's dodgyness going on?

...when the whole industrial media entertainment complex has been in on some masiive misinformation pushes of the highest order... all whilst fervently censoring the so called 'misinformation'...

err, ok...

I think a lot of our current problems are a sign of the times as much as a result of the virus...

those that once found it easy to control 'the narrative', and once loved social media, and all the 'empowerment' it brought to politics initially, are now struggling to control the narrative, and the same social media, has now empowered a whole heap of new 'minority voices'...

and they don't like what they see

the result... a very very reactionary (once uncharacteristic) tendency to overly censor and control everything ...absolutely everything!

which tends to make one look a bit of a fool when new information comes to light

especially when 'follow the science' has lead us down some totally dubious dead end roads of late...

if you are sick you isolate, you cover your mouth, you keep your distance, same as it ever was... it ain't bloody rocket science...

the problem is, the contemporary tendency to make everything rocket science...

with a legion of over educated, niche specialist, hand picked (compliant), ocd 'experts'...

and an unhealthy obsession on 'narrative', which has many questionable deep root causes...

Ah Indo, nothing to worry about there. These days we are almost bound to either be brainwashed by the MSM narrative, or the non-MSM narrative. I’m sure the non-MSM narrative might consider themselves free thinkers (or as Supafreak’s cartoon suggests, “analysts”), and I’m ok with whatever they want to call themselves, but the idea that they have somehow freed themselves of a narrative is just as naive.

Even the term ‘MSM narrative’ is a misnomer, as though there is one particular story out there. Presumably Faux News isn’t part of the MSM, although how that could be true defies rational consideration. Sort of like Alan Jones railing against ‘teh elites’. A non-sequitur.

There is no single MSM narrative. Nearly all of those organisations are corporations and their purpose is to make money, not bring you a dispassionate list of news items according to importance. Truth? That was jettisoned long ago.

So what is more likely is that everyone consumes “news” in the wrong way, not realising how curated it is. That equally applies to non-MSM news sources, but here too the scepticism reflex is abandoned.

That’s what I find disturbing. It seems we are all in one of two camps, either highly sceptical of any MSM news, but completely gullible muggins on anything from non-traditional outlets, or vice versa. Sypkans item putting up a Faux News diatribe from some clown called Watters that barely scratched the realms of reality, as somehow being revelatory was either laughable or disturbing, I’m not sure which.

Noam Chomsky’s ‘Manufacturing Consent’ videos from the 80s still apply. Getting real news is a thousand times more difficult than then, but the ideas are still relevant.

Read Jane Mayer’s ‘Dark Money’ to see how the MSM narrative was being engineered by arch-capitalists for their own ends since the 70s.

Personally, I believe nothing. Every conviction is a prison.
