Where is the proof that none of these ancient cultures lasted 60000 yrs ?

'True Crypto but the broad outline of the Out of Africa hypothesis is still supported by the evidence. Pure OOA suggested there was no interbreeding with non-sapiens populations but the degree of interbreeding seems to have been small. The main difficulties in human evolution are further back and relate to the increasing bushiness of the hominid family tree and the lack of evidence about the relationships between the increasing number of species that have been identified.'

I missed this blinder.

All the latest findings are showing a much, much more recent even, as well as long ago complexity than is presently 'scientifically' portrayed.

“When we look at the morphology of human bones over the last 300,000 years, we see a complex mix of archaic and modern features in different places and at different times,” said Prof. Chris Stringer, researcher at the London Natural History Museum and co-author on the study. “As with the material culture, we do see a continental-wide trend towards the modern human form, but different modern features appear in different places at different times, and some archaic features are present until remarkably recently.”

The genes concur. “It is difficult to reconcile the genetic patterns we see in living Africans, and in the DNA extracted from the bones of Africans who lived over the last 10,000 years, with there being one ancestral human population,” said Prof. Mark Thomas, geneticist at University College London and co-author on the study. “We see indications of reduced connectivity very deep in the past, some very old genetic lineages, and levels of overall diversity that a single population would struggle to maintain.”

Crypto, the quotes you provided refer to the evolution of H.sapiens in the period 300,000 to 200,000 years ago. OOA simply hypothesises, with considerable evidence, that this occurred completely within Africa so, apart from a low level of interbreeding between H.sapiens and Neanderthals, Denisovans and probably other archaic populations, H.sapiens evolved completely within Africa. This, as the quotes state, occurred by interbreeding between the various African populations of earlier species within the genus Homo.

CryptoKnight's picture

CryptoKnight commented Saturday, 20 Oct 2018 at 1:37pm

Yes blinder, but the very latest evidence shows that not all groups of Africans developed the same, not genetically, biologically, nor culturally, nor did they all interact to produce the sugar coated version of the on sale, one 'out of Africa', common descendant.

'Genuine' sugar coatings don't interest me at all, never have. Thankfully.

blindboy's picture
blindboy's picture
blindboy commented Saturday, 20 Oct 2018 at 2:56pm

Well yeh Crypto. Human genetic diversity is much greater within Africa than elsewhere so we know that the founder populations outside Africa did not contain the genetic diversity of the entire continent. Nothing sugar coated here just what the existing evidence, fairly strongly, suggests. Things might change as more evidence becomes available but probably not radically.

In considering genetic diversity and the fact that genes are not evenly distributed between population groups it is worth remembering that humans are not a genetically diverse species. There was a population bottleneck around 70,000 years ago so we are all much more closely related than appearances and cultural diversity might suggest.

CryptoKnight's picture
CryptoKnight's picture
CryptoKnight commented Saturday, 20 Oct 2018 at 3:41pm

Yes blinder, those 'bottlenecks' are the subject of much review.

'“Convergent evidence from these different fields stresses the importance of considering population structure in our models of human evolution,” says co-author Dr. Lounes Chikhi of the CNRS in Toulouse and Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência in Lisbon.“This complex history of population subdivision should thus lead us to question current models of ancient population size changes, and perhaps re-interpret some of the old bottlenecks as changes in connectivity,” he added.'

'In considering genetic diversity and the fact that genes are not evenly distributed between population groups it is worth remembering that humans are not a genetically diverse species.'

True. However also worth remembering that science has also proven beyond doubt that thoughts, behaviour, and environment effect gene expression.

The proven bloodbath and environmental destruction, an environment of thoughts and behaviour, that is enforced and enshrined in western culture, has a dramatically different effect on gene expression than the opposite, such as 80,000 years of Traditional Indigenous Australian Cultures. Which is dramatically obvious in the results. So we have, again,

'Any evidence that Australia was 'depleted' when the british, good 'ol 'fisherman of the cross' declared proven, factual, beyond refute, genocide and war war on Indigenous Australians? No, it was irrefutably proven to be teeming with abundance and home to over 600 hundred diverse Cultural groups. Not only Racist , but a dumb cunt racist.....impressive.

PS Too bad that in your calculations you’ve failed to involve the fact that I referred to earlier , that of at least 70000 years of the last 80000 was subsistence living for the Evil Westerners . Subsistence living demanding exactly the same adherence to respecting the environment as opposed to destroying it whether youre Black or white , British or Aboriginal. So I’m not sure how environmental destruction got inculcated into the Western DNA.

Wait a minute , you’re a Westerner Lifty , is environmental destruction and bloodbath violence a part of your DNA ?

And the thing about depletion of the environment when the British arrived ....of course Australia wasn’t depleted . But then again it wasn’t exactly the original lush rainforest state in which the Indonesian arrivals found it in , was it ?

But , that’s all good. Mankind’s journey is one of trial and error . No blame . No disrespect intended towards the Indonesian/ blackfellas. They didn’t know any better. And by the time the English got here they’d sorted their living in harmony shit out beautifully....only to see it fucked again.

Hopefully we as a nation can sort out shit out and treat the country with the respect it requires again . Let’s hope it doesn’t take 80000 years this time .

On cue, more racist bullshit.

'I’ve said many times that Indigenous Australians were treated abhorrently. They were lied to, killed , raped. Of course they were . No one denies this.'

Yet you babble and drivel about all the unbelievable 'millennia' of time these 'undeniable, british murderers and liars and rapists' as you describe them, had to develop a different style of thinking. Yet as you highlight, they simply couldn't, or didn't want to. And now you, 'just the poor peace lovin' son of a good 'ol 'fisherman of the cross', demand even more weapons? For the good of all. To this day... for the good of all. Even more weapons... 'that'll do it.... I fink... aaayyyeee... mmaaaayyytee!!!' In a nutshell. Again.

F... FFS, you racist idiot blowindo.

But, then, good, a faint glimmer (although soon extinguished), you finally admit Indigenous Australians had very, very, very successful ideologies and Cultural expressions, in fact the most unbroken, success producing style of thinking and politics in human history. 80,000 of as you now say,

'Australia was full of life with the first Australians living a sustainable lifestyle in harmony with the environment.

Of course . What kind of question is that ? Who is disputing that'

Yet you, blowindo, because of your beloved racism, still can't bear to face that environment, as you say, 'full of life with the first Australians living a sustainable lifestyle in harmony with the environment', of course, includes the more than 600 diverse Cultural groups of people. A fact that nearly kills you with your racist conditioning.

Despite you admitting,

'As for evidence of wars or being driven from their original home due to wars , there is no evidence'

Your racist, chosen world view blowindo, then makes it impossible for you to answer, or conceive the questions you relentlessly dodge, and smarmily drivel around.

'Of genuine interest, what have you got against say, what was outlined in the Uluru Statement from the Heart?

What are your objections to say, Australia becoming a Republic? And a subsequent change of national symbols: flag, anthem, day of celebration?

I know you're not much for reading, Blow in, but here you go:

https://redflag.org.au/node/5651'

All legitimate questions if you are truly interested in something better.'

And this:

'A new approach

Non-Indigenous Australians want to see Indigenous peoples “included” or “embraced” in the nation. But many don’t want to change their ways to accommodate Indigenous rights or difference. The flow is one way. We are taught that western civilisation is superior, and Indigenous difference is a deficit.

There is Indigenous leadership on these questions that is both visionary and practical. In 1987, Kevin Gilbert, a Wiradjuri man, produced a comprehensive critique of Australia’s claims to sovereignty, and the need to recognise the sovereignty of Indigenous peoples.

Irene Watson, a Tanganekald and Meintangk Boandik legal scholar and professor, points out that crises such as climate change are a call for a new relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigneous Australians and our environment. She shows how Indigenous moral and relational values provide a sound basis on which to build those new relationships.

Read more: Treaty debate will only strengthen Indigenous recognition process

Victoria Grieves, a Warraimaay historian, foresees a Republic of Australia based on the sovereignty of Aboriginal peoples. She says:

Australia could achieve absolute decolonisation and shared sovereignty and live up to the reputation we like to have, as a nation deeply concerned with human rights and social justice.

It is wrong-headed to think of “embracing” Indigenous peoples. Those with a western heritage must relinquish their arrogance, rewrite the distortions of their history, and place Indigenous interests at the forefront of social, economic and political concern.

We need to look beyond symbols to restitution: compensation, reparations and resource sharing. Indigenous peoples, through seeking a treaty, invite us to share in building an honourable future. Surely we can agree that Australia is worth it.'

All while you smarmily, cunningly, racistly revel in the situation that all this is taking place, because, bottom line, as you describe them, the british liars, rapists and thieves, still have a gun to Indigenous Australian's heads. Racist idiot. More guns you say?

Crypto you should really learn what racism is.

IMHO the only obvious racist around here is you, time after time you judge and generalise a whole group of people based on events of the past or on others of that races actions, kind of crazy.

It's no different to saying all Germans are evil because of Hitler and Nazi's

Seeing you judge a whole race based on history, you should actually be thanking my fathers Dutch ancestors after all they were the first Europeans to step foot on Australia and the left the indigenous people to be.

Katharine Murphy sums up the Wentworth elect nicely

"It is a repudiation. A repudiation of a chaotic period in government characterised by self-obsession and self-harm. A repudiation of the party’s lurch to the right, and the hollowing out of the sensible centre.

A repudiation of amoral plots, schemes, coups, and seat-of-the-pants bullshit – a howl of frustration from voters, from the most well-heeled to the couch surfers, about the endless weasel words from their disconnected, half-deranged politicians – a group with scant respect for facts and evidence, intermittent competence and no plan in evidence to address the problems the country faces.

20 October 2018 is a clarion repudiation of Punch and Judy politics, of a sideshow signifying nothing, conducted at taxpayer expense. The good people of Wentworth have stood up as a job lot, grabbed politics-as-usual by the lapels, leaned into its smug face, and screamed get stuffed you absolute morons."

He referred to Morrison as the "relief teacher" adding everyone knows he doesn't know his shit, he isn't going be around for long and so therefore everyone is mucking up.

You know @Indo if you weren't on here constantly baiting people you would have little to say and ironically apart from the rare comment you make about Indonesia I find most of what you have to say to be half baked, ill-informed generalisations, something you like accusing others of. You clearly need to get out more, but not to the Dandy market as we all remember how you were tempted there.

@Guy

I admit at times with Crypto it could be described as a little bit of baiting but 90% of the time i also try to have a civil dissusion with him while there is literally pages of abuse/name calling directed at me (and others) just in this thread, even on my Dutch ethnicity, not to mention although i might bait him a little like i did recently with the traditional fishing rights thing and taking of turtle and dugong i tied it in with the conversation and topic running unlike Crypto who blatantly tries to bait me with non relevant old post like Bitcoin or some odd thought i had while bored waiting for the missus people watching and even goes as far as digging through pages and pages of old post to cut and paste things I've said and then re post the same thing half a dozen times when i don't take the bait.

To be honest it's more annoying than anything having my post misrepresnted rather than actually anything ive said.

While we are being all honest no offence but i just find your comments plain boring straight out of the Guardian all you ever want to talk about is politics and how terrible the government is, but hey we each have our favourite topics and views at least you generally do it in a civil manner and don't repeat post and post crappy videos every second post and generally play the ball and not the man.

As for baiting others, maybe the odd one here and there but it's more just to stir up an interesting conversation or a bit of banter.

BTW. On the traditional fishing thing, although it had the bonus of stirring up crypto, the main aim was just to have an interesting conversation as it is an interesting little topic, I'm still really curious where the Greens party would stand on the issue.

PS. If you think the cut snake thing was baiting him or what I'm about to say, thats not the aim, i just honestly think the guy is a looney/crazy/lost the plot/few screws loose whatever and must have some serious issues, just the pent up rage and bitterness the guy has for others is just weird especially for people he doesn't know, its like he really wants me and Blowin to be something other than we are and our views...in all honestly if he really has this rage and passion for these topics and needs to get it all out, he should find some real redneck racist on social media or some crazy right wing forum or something to attack and abuse...instead of painting us as something we are not.

Too cute @Indo, I don't see Crypto ripping strips off too many others here so I think you know exactly what you are doing. A jab here a nudge there, trumped up little "interesting" discussions, pretty transparent really, so the question is why bother? You really need to get out more, perhaps a surf or two.

Crypto, I think I know what you are saying about gene expression, so I will run it by you. When you say "gene expression" what I think you are referring to are environmentally induced epigenetics changes which modify gene expression and can be inherited. Your hypothesis then is that the epigenetic changes that have occurred in indigenous people have tended to make them peaceful and caring of the natural environment, while the epigenetics changes in European populations have had the opposite effects.

If this is what you are thinking then it is a reasonable hypothesis given what we know but I am not aware of any genetic evidence that it has actually occurred. Certainly the behaviour of the different populations is circumstantial evidence but there are other possible reasons for that including the cultural impact of the Abrahamic religions which have preached that Earth was created explicitly for the benefit of humans.

So last night it was the "biggest swing in by election history" and 24 hours later it's still swinging in the breeze, and too close to call.

Even Antony Green appeared to be surprised by the size of the bounce back towards Sharma.

I guess while most of the candidates were on the street campaigning, the Libs were busy, very busy, with the business of helping the members of the electorate fill in their postal votes.

Quietly glad we have the AEC to 'double check' the counts and preference flows.

Time will tell.

indoblown I think you are an arrogant, smarmy, racist wanker. This below is an absolute classic example of exactly that. You can't even comprehend that maybe the woman you felt like stalking, 'watching' as you put it, might have felt very uncomfortable with some fucked up, weird cunt scoping her out, all because you felt like some fucking weirdo 'experience', and couldn't give a fuck what you are directly doing to others. Believe it or not, some people like just going to markets to buy things and spend time with their partners. Like the guy you racially stereotyped as, 'her little middle eastern guy following her around', while 'she wore the pants'. You are a fuckwit at best. As if they would want to talk to you, knowing that's what you were thinking. Or would you smugly bullshit like you do on here and act all caring and bullshit.

You are so self centered and arrogant, so smug and stupid, that you honestly think that people actually think,

'Hey, lets go to the market, a weirdo might smack into me, and see what you do honey, seeing as you are a 'little middle eastern guy following me around, while I wear the pants'... hey, at least he said we aren't like those dressed in black oppressors...'

You fucking dickhead. kkk 101.

'BTW. i saw a women at the market in Dandenong the other day with a burqua or maybe it was a Niqab it was kind of in-between couldn't see her face though, i was waiting for my missus so did a bit of people watching with her, to be honest she didn't look oppressed like the full black robe ones I've seen in Indonesia that look like servants of the men, actually looked the opposite in this case she had her little middle eastern guy following her around and from the body language she looked like she was wearing the pants so to speak.

It was quite crowded and was thinking maybe i will accidentally go bump into her and say sorry etc and see if she will interact with me and see the reaction of her husband, but by that time my missus had finished.'

Weird, thoughtless, arrogant, fucking racist shit. Absolutely, arrogantly stupid.

Your grasp of what did and is happening to Indigenous Australians is even worse. You can't even bear the thought of them being on equal footing to us, or even bear to think that adopting and sharing some their Cultural ideologies might be beneficial in addressing some of our obvious failings. One in particular being supposedly 'advance Australia fair'. If a school kid got the shit kicked out of them and their siblings, and all their possessions flogged, and the teachers said,

'Well, yes, bad luck, that's theirs now, so just get over it. If you behave properly, they might sometimes let you play with some of things. And don't think about or try getting them back, don't even think you can share them equally, because if you do you will find yourself in a lot of serious trouble. You need to get better at fighting, but don't you dare retaliate, and you aren't really any goody two shoes you know... so its for the best. Move on now, its the 'fair thing to do.'

We would think its unbelievably unfair and wouldn't stand for it. And in a supposed advanced, fair, civilized country, it is. Yet, in the case of Indigenous Australians we perpetuate and enforce it.

Its beyond your grasp indoblown, you arrogant, smarmy, racist wanker.

Yes blinder, that's pretty much it. Its very far reaching. A double edged sword also, as far as what's happened to Indigenous Australians. A snowball effect as far as western history goes. We were supposedly meant to use our 'advancements' to work less, have less stress, and yet, whole nations live under the very real, constant stress of total planetary destruction, even at the push of a button. Kids, and more and more people stress ever more daily about what will become of them, as competition for results and jobs intensifies relentlessly. 'Stuck cunts' are integral to the 'system'. Just a glimpse.

https://www.abc.net.au/news/science/2017-04-21/what-does-epigenetics-mea...

'Professor Yehuda studies the impact of traumatic experiences on war veterans, survivors of the Holocaust, of the September 11 attacks and their children.

She's found that children born after the war to Holocaust survivors with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) were more likely to develop PTSD or depression themselves, compared to other Jewish adults.

These children also shared epigenetic markers with their parents on a gene that made them more reactive to stress.'

We showed that increased paternal stress hormone changed the epigenome of the sperm, and changed the offspring'

Traditional Indigenous Australian Cultural ideology, and so unconscious conditioning, in effect, brain washing, as all cultural ideologies do, when really studied, demonstrates a relentlessly reinforced constant belonging, a constant connectivity, an equality, an importance, for every citizen, at every level. With literally everything, and everyone in the environment. Reciprocity, sharing, with a greatly reduced need to conquer, to fear, free of so much relentless stress that is the hallmark of western ideology. It is truly ingenious in its scope. The results speak for themselves. As do the results of the genocidal holocaust the british unleashed.

So, again.

'Of genuine interest, what have you got against say, what was outlined in the Uluru Statement from the Heart?

What are your objections to say, Australia becoming a Republic? And a subsequent change of national symbols: flag, anthem, day of celebration?

With all that potted Irish stuff you mentioned before, I'd assumed you'd be all for a Republic? The Irish Catholics in particular were still copping it hard at the start of the last century here in Australia, even post-war.

And the Irish during the early days of the NSW colony?

https://redflag.org.au/node/5651'
