Reckon Mick coaching Ethan even for just one year may be a good thing, personally think he is in the the top three surfers in the world ( Gabe , JJF, EE ) not in that order IMO ,might just need that bit of MF hardcore never say die.

Having Mick Fanning coach Ethan for even just one year could be a game changer. Mick's experience and mentality could give Ethan the edge he needs to refine his skills and mindset, especially with that "never say die" attitude Mick is known for. With Ethan already considered one of the top surfers, a bit of Mick's hardcore approach might push him even further. It's exciting to think about how that coaching dynamic could elevate Ethan's performance on the world stage.

The latest footage i saw of EE at pumping Winki and Bells looks like he's trying to smooth out the double triple pump bottom turns. It still creeps in on the smaller waves but the bigger stuff was pure rail to rail turns, not a pump to be seen and it seemed to result in much more of the wave face being destroyed in the carve as opposed to the usual top half from EE. Maybe Micko has been guiding some of that.

Not much of an aerialist but definitely one of the most pleasing to the eye styles out there.

Last vid I saw was EE killing it at Haliewa. Very impressive surfing.

Yeh, I noticed the pump is still there (as it is in every high perf thruster surfer unless the wave is at the complete perfect speed) but he’s more subtle on the hands and body language which improves the aesthetic.
