Yeah sypkan, I went to a GP before a4 months indo trip back in 2002 and he prescribed maliquin , when he looked at how long I was going for he suggested I don’t take it for that period of time because the damage to my liver and kidneys would be worse than malaria , instead he told me if I got malaria to drop 10 tablets and that would fight the effects until I could get hospital treatment, I went down to lakey peak and was sure to cover up dusk and dawn , 8 locals died from malaria in the 6 weeks I was there. I’ve had para typhoid back in 1980 and in took 9 months to get back to fighting weight and feeling fully recovered , I was 5 weeks with no treatment and a very sick puppy, flinders medical center saved my arse and I’m eternally grateful even though I had to sign a waver for a new treatment after what they tried wasn’t working. And yes I was vaccinated for typhoid before leaving Australia but doctors told me it was only about 45% effective , again this was 1980
