We’ve got a slow moving high sitting east of Tasmania and a trough of low pressure off the North Coast directing an onshore flow across most of the Eastern Seaboard tending N’ly off Southern NSW to Tasmania.
Protected spots will offer the best waves tomorrow with a localised swell, better as it eases into the end of the week and weekend.
We’ve got a slow moving high sitting east of Tasmania and a trough of low pressure off the North Coast directing an onshore flow across most of the Eastern Seaboard and generating plenty of local swell.
Winds will favour the South Coast into the end of the week ahead of an onshore weekend, slightly better inside the gulf.
Not a great change through the rest of the week with the trough devolving into a trough line and sitting on the coast and a new trough of low pressure forming on the weekend. We’ll see some new short range S swell from that source, improving in quality as the trough forms a low and moves away from the coast.
Make the most of the coming days when conditions improve ahead of a mostly onshore weekend (besides Sunday morning).
Not much in the way of swell generating wind in the Coral Sea short term so expect tiny/flat conditions for most of the week. Eventually the high pressure cell builds a tradewind fetch in the Coral Sea, likely by Fri, with surf building to rideable levels on Sat and likely extending into Sun.
We’ll see the trough bring S’ly winds and swell as it moves up the NSW Coast through the first half of this week. That will mostly obscure some traces of long period S swell pushing up the Tasman, generated by a large polar low.
