South Australia's Algal Bloom Forces Relocation of Oz Junior Titles
South Australia's ongoing algal bloom claims another victim.
Over the weekend, Surfing Australia made the decision that the Australian Junior Titles would relocate from South Australia's Flerieu Peninsula, where they were due to be held, to Wollongong, where they were held last year.

There were many mitigating factors: the contest is still two months away, and the southern Flerieu is currently unaffected, however when they took into account the unpredictable nature of the bloom, Surfing Australia decided to telegraph the decision in early.
Locals are hoping it's more a postponement than a cancellation as Surfing Australia is considering rescheduling the event to 2026.
“While we are disappointed about the relocation of the 2025 Australian Junior Surfing Titles," said Hatif Rishad from Events SA, "we look forward to working with Surfing Australia to bring the event back to South Australia next year.”
Last year's Australian Junior Titles were held in Wollongong with the U18s won by local Sammy Lowe and Miila Coco Brown from Sydney's Northern Beaches.
The Australian Junior Titles will run from November 28 - December 5, anywhere betrween Stanwell Park and Port Kembla.
