OK blokes. One Nation is absolutely pro coal. They can't get enough of it, but they also claim we need to massively reduce immigration because of environmental concerns.
Like said, fair weather environmentalists.

You still haven't quantified it in any way, shape or form.

How many people?

I'm not saying there are none, but you haven't justified basically calling people who question immigration, fake environmentalists and closet racists.

You're dribbling shit again.

How about Dick Smith? He ran the "depopulate to protect the environment" line, and he had plenty of people clapping and cheering him a few years ago. Even after he jumped into bed with Pauline Hanson and became pro-coal.
I'm not saying that everyone who wants to protect the environment by reducing immigration is a racist. Not at all. But there are people who happily jump from environmental defender to right wing populism pretty bloody often.

How many people?
Wow AndyM do you want me to poll the nation and get back to you on that?
Here's another example of an anti-immigration "environmentalist". Remember the Liberal MP in Western Sydney who banged on about refugees filling up hospitals and freeways? She was arguing for reduced immigration to reduce traffic congestion, while being part of Abbott's anti-environment government. She won a seat in parliament with her faux pro-environmental / anti immigrant agenda.

AndyM's picture
AndyM's picture
AndyM Saturday, 28 Nov 2020 at 8:38pm

Yeah if you're going to say something pretty egregious like those who question levels of immigration are racist, you'd better back it up.

And that's a very poor example above.

Complaining about crowded hospitals and roads isn't an environmental platform.

Also AndyM. Most right wing populist parties across the western world oppose any action on climate change.

It was a while back but i dont think Dick smiths views where all about the environment, while that might have been part of it, i think it was more about quality of life and not destroying what we love about this country and just wanting the issue on the table and for us to just think about what kind of country we want do we want to be like an overcrowded Asian country or like USA etc, which is the same way i take Blowins view, what i read from him is more a fear of losing the Australia that he loves.

I also dont remember Dick smith being pro coal? (maybe he was? i will have to google and see what he said)

But yeah he seemed to only get support from One Nation for his concern about unsustainable population growth, not his fault, im sure if the Greens had taken him under their wing with the issue he would have gone there too.

BTW Dick has been very pro nuclear in the past though as has Bill gates but thats just because nuclear is really the smartest energy source out there, so much energy for so little, but yeah the cost thing is an issue...anyway lets not get into a discussion about nuclear.

I personally look up to both of them, i just find them really balanced i dont think you can label either right or left wing, to me they are very central in their views.

Maybe I'm naive but for super rich business men, i think they also have their hearts in the right place, i have a lot of respect for both.

BTW. I think you can also care about the environment or different environmental issues, and still understand the importance or reality of countries still needing coal as we transition to renewables or just not be over the top on every environmental issue, actually understanding that its all about take and give and all about balance.

Thats the frustration i find with some groups or people, just the unrealistic anti anything view, mining of any kind, dams, gas, whatever..

Vic Local's picture

Not sure how we missed ABC Q&A
Trump ~ Lost Popular Vote + Impeached + Lost Re-election .
Q : So how many times has that happened before?
A : https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-11-24/trump-joins-one-term-us-president...

Trump : Will never ever concede nor does he have to. ( No precedent )
There is talk of Trump contesting this election everyday forever until we all die!

Trump: Will forbid Biden entry to the White House unless he answers fraud claims.
So now Joe must answer 3 riddles to enter the Kingdom...(This is the new Quest!)
https://www.news.com.au/world/north-america/us-politics/donald-trumps-fi...

Law : Trump can't refuse Biden entry as much as Biden can't evict Trump.(Maybe!)

This article goes further than most, but it doesn't address Emergency security rule.
Trump has been reserved with Emergency powers...he can press stop anytime!
https://www.livescience.com/what-if-president-rejects-election-results.html

Noon Jan 20 / 2021~ Biden's Secret Service evicts Trump/s secret Service.
Assumes Emergency President's Secret Service are under command of New Prez.
When did the President call off Emergency & can the new Prez override that?

Now that's starting to look more like a South American coup than Good Ol' USA.
This will likely play out, as Trump said he'll be there on the day & he means it!

Imagine ordering the Military to remove an Emergency President from office!
You'd wanna do that right before you step anywhere near more of his booby traps.
Trump will ham up his coup D'etat to play out during 'His National Emergency.'
New President Biden may have unknowingly committed a crime against the State.

Reason tbb says that...each time Dems are asked of this the answer is more stupid!
Come the day & Dems won't be any wiser...Republicans are given a freebie.

Keep saying it...Biden has gotta catch up & look at least half as stupid as Trump.
Biden must know exactly what to do before D day....World sees he hasn't a clue!
Nor does the Last Dem' president, they look stupid & weak! Trump feeds off it!

How will the Dems handle foreign coups if they keep tripping over their own.
This is getting too painful to watch our ally sinking without a trace.

Trump sets another new precedent daily...'we'll just get 10,000 more lawyers'.
Each new day becomes more apparent that the Dems are even more dumbstruck.
Get with the program & get ahead of Trump or he will steal your election!
Who here thinks he can't! Read the sign > [ State of Emergency President Trump ]

PS: tbb will give the Dems a free leg up...

Well, ya know how experts say Trump needs to swing heaps of votes to win.
It was never about winning in court...focus on those foreign voting machines.

eg: Here's a copy of tomorrows Fake News...
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8995409/Former-head-U-S-electio...
The sacking of Homeland Security "Cyber Security"...
Revenge Fake Vote Porn Orgy !

Trump is screaming to the world that US security was under attack during election.
Emergency President Trump must enact Sanctions (12 Sept 2018 /15 May 2019)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_national_emergencies_in_the_United...
This will save USA from the Venezuelan Cyber Attacks that corrupted the Election.
Just to be on the safe side he sacked a nice Guy & will now isolate Machine Votes.
All see that when the Chavez Corruption is weeded out...Trump miraculously wins!
Democrats won't even say thanks to Trump for saving America & the election.

Block The God Damn Emergency Sanctions before Trump flicks the switch!
LIKE RIGHT FUCKING NOW! ... 'd be a good time!
(Biden : "You really think so...")
Yes! We're your Allies!" FFS...just pass the Light Sabre...can't even spell the fucker!
"Err! Yer holding it back to front tbb!".
Yeah! ..you'd like to think so, but nothing really matters anymore, does it!

This is pretty obvious but i will say it anyway.

VL might not be a Greens voter, but his mindset is the exact reason why the Greens never took the opportunity to support Dick Smith with his views/concerns on Australia's future population, there would be a huge chunk of Greens voters that would think exactly like VL linking any real discussion on the issue directly to being anti immigrant or even racist.

Surely at some stage it's going to be something they will have to focus on, which will be funny The Greens and One Nation both agreeing on reducing immigration. (Horse shoe effect at work?)

Speaking of quotes and such, here's some classics from just the other day. File them in the #ThereIsAlwaysAComment dossier. And the Sunday funnies.

The following was after the Shortenism pile on...

First, Sepp:

"I find this fascinating, I have a confession, I've been following some conspiracy groups on fb because I just want to know what the hell they are on about... its been disappointing, they're so all over the shop you cannot find any overarching 'belief'. in fact the infighting is hilarious... and frustrating, one guys rambling about 'the china virus', someone else is blaming cartels, and then someone pipes in about the virus being a hoax and you're all fools and 'sheeple'."

Oh, the irony.

Again.

Hah! You've been following "conspiracy groups on fb" you say, Sepp? No shit?! We couldn't tell!

Reckon much has surreptitiously seeped in??

And why go to FB anyway? Surely, what you seek is right here!

"One guys rambling about 'the china virus', someone else is blaming cartels, and then someone pipes in about the virus being a hoax and you're all fools and 'sheeple'"

Huzzah! Blowie covers all bases!

Consolidate, brother!

Speaking of the ol' freedom warrior, of course he would then pipe up with this gem (metaphorical/literal fish-killing baton in clenched fist):

"I don’t care what people think , say or do as long as it’s not directly threatening someone’s safety and I’d rather everyone felt free to speak their minds irrespective of how foolish or astute they felt others would see it."

Of course he would pipe up, because he's not talking about Shorty, he's really talking about, and trying to defend, himself!

Duh!

Shortenism getting paid out?! He at least said:

"We're all in a room full of mirrors ei lads"

Then again, he also said:

"Blowin for Pres!!"

Surely one Trumpy was more than enough!

Anyway, "I think the world has got far too many genuine problems to worry about than this stuff."

Yes'm Blowie. Testify, brother. Apart from your laundry list as unwittingly outlined by Seppy above, we've got Trumpy's "seditious traitors" to concern our time with at the mo.

Meanwhile, it's a quick dip before the Iron Mike/Roy Jones Jr show.

Not really on topic, but seeing Madonna was mentioned.

I always think of this lyric when i see her name, from Painters & Dockers Nude School.

"Jenny thinks she's Madonna, but Penthouse changed all that
She ain't that hairy, her legs aren't that fat "

Pretty harsh lyrics.

I remember the pics though, as a grommet i was disappointed they were only black & white and OMG she did have a lot of hair even for that era...not that there is anything wrong with hairy women if thats your thing (or hairy men if thats your thing)

PS. I remember stealing the edition of Playboy with Wendy Botha nude too from the news agent as a grommet, i never really stole much, i still remember it like it was yesterday, the rush the stoke, the disappointment.
