The "I can't believe it's not politics" thread.
Like I said VL, tunnel vision.
Obviously nothing wrong with a few lies here and there. Sleeping dogs up and running sort of thing.
'MB, You can bring any comment back to what the white man did against the aboriginals. I love it!'
I'll 'have to assume that's' not another goofy lie on the run!
It’s clearly not a lie though, the evidence is clear for all to see
And its so deluxe that you 'love' the truth about 'what the white man' did against the aboriginals' so much footer!!! My pleasure!
So, considering all the recent talk of 'language', and the topic sickaz raised out of the goodness of his heart, re Indigenous Australian Language, and that we are in the, 'Australia - you're standing in it' thread, with all these probs constantly raised, what do you think of this 'Cultural Sensitivity Course... uppity Indigenous Lady... stuff... again...
Or juz move 'er 'orn ayyyeee mmmaaayyytee...
'Yeah , I'm aware of this Happyas$.
Well aware of the allocations of our tax dollars and who they support.
I actually said that to an indigenous lady that was presenting a course on cultural sensitivity that I attended after she'd laid it on too thickly that Whitey only cares for himself , not even his family, unlike her faultless people....very Upliftesque.
Of course our houses will not be appropriated in this Great Leap Forward .'
How about what 'the white man' is doing to the planet? How are you running with that one, now that you are up and running goof?
“And its so deluxe that you 'love' the truth about 'what the white man' did against the aboriginals' so much footer!!! My pleasure!”
Ha haa nice try Mickey, you’re better than that though
Haha... you said it... I sure am, picking on peoples kids and shite isn't my thing... in fact, its enough to make you sick, an' even chuck ya stubby even!!!
Seeing as you are running with the other thingy, that leaves this one? How are you running with this... footer.
'How about what 'the white man' is doing to the planet? How are you running with that one, now that you are up and running goof?'
'Running foot'... I like it, its up there with 'mustang zenny'!!!???
In a nutshell... again!!!
I think it’s terrible what WE the white men are doing to our planet. It’s a disgrace and I worry a lot about what kind of world my kids and my grandkids will grow up in.
You seen Attenborough’s new film? Bit of an eye opener hey
Oh and picking on people’s kids?! Whatever. Fuck you love a bit of drama don’t ya
Yeh, I posted here a while ago. But he gives hope, if we can just open the blinkers and listen to a different type of 'pioneers'.
Drama? You knew exactly what you were doing. If you want to have a go at me, no worries. But my kid? That went out of his way to help me make some vids to help total strangers on here. I thought it would be good for him to put himself out a bit. He's met heaps of surfers over the years though.
Maybe there is hope for us yet.
That is brilliant, thanks for sharing Lifty.
No problems fitzroy-21, yeh there's tons of hope, and its really happening.
no worries VL. I forgive you. good chat.
That gardens by the bay is pretty impressive was there last year, well worth checking out if you are in Singapore.
Was a few years since id been to Singapore and found another cool thing, that is a must to check do, in the supermarket you can get on tap beer from the deli type section, in a plastic cup but still, was a great experience having a beer while you do the shopping.
@fitzroy-21 & VL
On the Indo visa thing, a friend of mine from QLD got a 3 month Visa and arrived in Indo about two weeks ago, doesnt have any type of Indo connections, purely just an every day semi retired surfer over there to surf and relax, so it is doable.
@ Indo, yeah same deal, as I mentioned before, I have a couple of mates that went over about 4 - 6 weeks ago and are in no hurry to come home. Absolutely loving it and was relatively easy.
VL just has his head in his arse.
'Was a few years since id been to Singapore and found another cool thing, that is a must to check do, in the supermarket you can get on tap beer from the deli type section, in a plastic cup but still, was a great experience having a beer while you do the shopping.'
Coming from here, that must have been a shock! It will take a while, but they daren't cut out the 'essential' services just yet!!! Even covid will never do that! The bottle shops are open no matter what, in fact, the thing that keeps it runnng!
That cup of beer... was it only half full? Did ya get pizza with it, watch out who serves ya!!!
Actually Lifty, whilst I try and decipher what you are saying above, speaking of beer and assuming you are still in SA, I found it really interesting (and somewhat sad) that the SA chief medical officer (?) spent a lot of time explaining the importance of bottleshops being open as an "essential service" during the "lockdown" (that has now been shortened) during an interview the other day.
Yeh classic stuff. 'Essential'.
'They made us stay sober for a week'!!!!"
No, that'll never happen. We're not quite that 'advanced' yet.
I see the Australian Prime Minister who sent our troops including our SAS into Iraq and Afghanistan was on TV tonight expressing disappointment in the report into the illegal conduct of our SAS but not for sending them into the illegal (non UN sanctioned) conflict in the first place. Howard forever the warrior, no regrets there.
Michael Bourne, seems I touched a nerve. I didn’t want to explain it to you, but you kept on about it so I will address it.
Lifty, phoney advocate for the downtrodden, bona fide sycophant of his own self image, paragon of virtue signalling. The King of blacks car park is sans clothes. I knew my skepticism about you was warranted.
Admittedly my knowledge of indigenous culture is not comprehensive, I have never acted any differently though. That is why I enrolled in the course I linked you, to increase my understanding, starts March. My wife just finished it, she said it’s great. I’ll take any chance I get to learn more about a 60000+ year old culture. Seems you are already full bottle.
I am not ignorant though Mike, I have some Nyoongar and Bardi friends but we typically just go fishing and diving and enjoy each other’s company. Kick the footy, take the kids to the beach. Their heritage is not important in regards to why I like them and vice versa, we just get along which is plenty good enough for me. They would tell me to fuck off if I carried on like you.
Funny how you keep on about the ‘indigenous language’, my understanding is there are over 300 indigenous languages. You’re the expert though Mike. Also, until you told me I had no idea the word ‘language’ isn’t an indigenous word, apparently it’s English.
The reason I went into this racism rabbit hole is because you falsely imply racism in others and you use other people’s real suffering, loss, oppression and injustice for your own virtue signalling.
Calling out REAL racism is a civil duty IMO, don’t mistake this for what you do on here. If that’s what you were doing I would applaud you for it.
Indigenous people have voices and are incredibly generous in the way they share the knowledge of their people and the stories of their culture. They don’t need your loud, indignant, righteous white voice speaking on their behalf.
I'm guessing your bum is sore.
"And Andrew Hastie MP (then an SAS captain) then wanted to know if cutting people's hands off was permitted under Defence rules & regulations."
So.... Hows that glorification of war going, chaps?
In the immortal words of mustang zenny, sickaz, 'its all sickly sweet'... mmmaaayytee!!!
I looked at your course recommendation, and its great that you are increasing your awareness of Indigenous Australian Cultural issues.
As I pointed out to you, I studied Traditional and Contemporary Australian Indigenous Cultures in the most thorough format that was available at the time, three years full time, at two universities, some distant, some on campus. I got on the Deans Honour Roll several times, and earned other academic merit awards. There are advantages in doing that type of comprehensive ('full bottle' in your words) study, for all concerned. One of the main advantages, beneficial to all, that my most learned, Indigenous Australian Professors and lecturers placed a huge emphasis on, was to prove that I could satisfy the stringent, academic criteria that the universities demanded. So, needless to say, they were very pleased with my efforts. That is a huge topic in itself, as not everyone at the universities I studied at were happy that the Degree Course was available there, and openly opposed it, for various reasons, including some racist reasons. Racism was a large area of my study, so I am totally confident when I say that.
I had to prove beyond any doubt that I could and did comprehend, research and consider all the material for and against, when constructing an argument or answer to the examination questions posed. And then I had to present those answers and arguments in an acceptable academic format. Again, it was extremely important to the course providers that I not be seen as getting a soft, easy option. In fact, as I did electives outside the set course modules, I saw first hand that the opposite situation was the case.
'Admittedly my knowledge of indigenous culture is not comprehensive'
'That is why I enrolled in the course I linked you, to increase my understanding,' starts March'
'I am not ignorant though Mike, I have some Nyoongar and Bardi friends but we typically just go fishing and diving and enjoy each other’s company.'
You then attempt to expand on that, leading to me being told to 'fuck off'.
What you are expressing is that you have a lot to learn in the subject matter.
Suddenly however, that becomes,
'Funny how you keep on about the ‘indigenous language’, my understanding is there are over 300 indigenous languages. You’re the expert though Mike. Also, until you told me I had no idea the word ‘language’ isn’t an indigenous word, apparently it’s English.'
A very shallow attempt to reverse reality.
Like many words in the english language, language can be used as an umbrella like, and time saving term to encompass all languages. As you are interested, and as I've pointed out on here many times, there are indeed many Traditional Indigenous Australian Cultural groups, and if you take into account the different dialects, there about 1000 or more different ways of using speech, or language, in our terms.
Expanding on what I was talking about, in all of those different Traditional Indigenous Australian Cultural groups there is no word, or concept for time, as we know it. That is the case with many of their, and our Cultural ideologies. So, even our attempts at explaining and understanding Dreaming, (which encompasses many Dreamings) are flawed, brought to light by our twisting of Dreaming, into 'Dreamtime'.
In Traditional Indigenous Australian Cultures, Dreaming is the Oneness which includes and relates all. Including 'language'. Dreaming, Oneness, the common cause and being which made Indigenous Australian Cultures the most successful ever. So sickaz you can see the difficulty Indigenous Australians face when presenting modules like this, in the cousrse you will study, in these, contemporary 'times'.
Module 3 – Koori yeyi (Past to today)
In this third module, you will examine Noongar society pre-colonisation and learn about the key events (and rising tensions) that occurred following the arrival of the British settlers in 1826. Catastrophic segregation policies, land dispossession, and the attempted assimilation and genocide of Noongar culture and people will also be discussed. This module concludes by recognising the importance of reviving and celebrating culture today.
Module 4 – Ngalang moort koort (Family is our heart)
In this fourth module, you will learn about the heart of Noongar people’s lives - that of moort (family) and community. The kinship system, and the terms that identify who is who in the extended network that makes up Noongar families will be explored. This module will also illustrate ways in which family and communities ensure that culture and language are taught to younger generations.
The sites below will enlarge on what I've said.
As to the rest of your outburst. No not truthfull at all. I have friends too. I have also worked for many Indigenous Australian Organisations over decades, in three states. In many different roles, including caring, and mentoring. So my real, considerable experience is that I have been requested to speak out on Indigenous Australians behalf, including against racism, which I am qualified in assessing, and appreciated for doing so.
Only weeks ago I got asked to mentor a young guy, again. I've had some awesome results. Its so fucking hard. His life story is just one small, part. The whole mentoring scenario is so fucking hard. All that it encompasses. I haven't given an answer. I spoke to a friend not long ago who is in a difficult job. A kind of half way house for Indigenous Australian kids. Half way to fucking where, he said.
From what I've learned, there is blatant racism on this site, ever so sickly, sweetly explained away or beautifuly ignored. You know, just 'mistakes using language', just good 'ol boys, 'pointing out truths', just 'life experiencing', just 'googling', and so on. I've never seen you address any of it sickaz. Many Indigenous Australians oppose sickly, sweet silence.
From what I've seen of you on here, you choose silence.
Do you reckon Meyne rehearsed that or just let it all out?
Pretty powerful stuff.
Best to ask him.
I'll just take it as intended.
Here's a treat for those who like seeing conservative politicians getting bashed in comments sections, and those who like seeing the population ponzi get bashed in comments sections - all rolled into one.
Most aren't pulling their punches - Aussies first.
there really is some weirdass shit going down in oz atm. an oz passport used to be the gold standard of travelling documents, where you knew if you encountered troubles overseas, you'd more than likely get good quality help of some sort.
over the last ten years or so, it seems developments have shown that this is no longer the case, and oz citizens are pretty much on their own in precarious or challenging situations whilst overseas. corona virus has only exacerbated this, and confirmed that oz citizens are indeed pretty much on their own when caught out overseas
to rub salt in the wound, it would appear governments of all persuasions cannot pander enough to the international student / skilled worker permanent residency buying scam, and facillitate their every need and more. they bend over backwards to cater for every whim of this particular cohort, whilst austrailian citizens are the ones constantly getting bent over in the process
I've had the pleasure of talking to quite a few nationalities over the past few weeks, and they literally cannot believe when I tell them australians cannot return home due to a waiting list in the tens of thousands that means many are, and have been, waiting for periods of 6- 12 months just to get a look in at a slot
I know for a fact india chartered flights to get their citizens home in this pandemic, and I had a russian guy literally laughing in my face in disbelief as I told him of the situation, as he informed me russia had also chartered flights to get their citizens home
seriously oz wtf is going on when you are getting shamed by india and russia?
modern oz has to currently be the oddest place on earth, full of contradictions and ridiculousness that are making us a laughing stock of the un(der)-developed world...
just bloody bizarro
even more bizarre is australians just sitting back and letting it all unfold... or maybe not...
R U OK, Comalco boy?
sypkan has worked it out...
2020 reverse migration is estimated at 72,000 & the first since 1916/17.
Strand more jobseekers o/s + top up on pizza boys is the affordable option.
2020 pop 0.2% + 1.7 babies / woman.
2021 pop 0.4% + 1.59 babies / woman
2022 projected pop down 600,000
2030 projected pop down 1m or $117b GDP (1.62 babies / Woman)
2040 projected pop down 1,4m or 4% down.
What is not mentioned...
50% of covid infected males carry virus in their testes.
50% of "long covid" sufferers (10%) are ultra fit woman aged 20-40 yrs / old
Prime Covid infertility will lead to record miscarriages & abortions.
Now factor in covid Pop displacement & restrictions. eg (Infertility hot spots.)
That's a record unheard amount of infertility for those seeking to raise a family.
The uprooting of single women, young men even families will be the new norm.
With fake Rapid Tests corrupting Election quarantine, Air-bridges & Sports-bet.
One must assume positive negative Sperm Tests will bankrupt & infect women.
This will get worse before our Govt's wake up.
Do any here think Govt can or will fund something it knows nothing about?
How long for a Vaccine now how to deal with reproductive Covid? (Shh!)
Let's not talk about the birds and the bees & the covid.
Half patients have 25% sperm count & it's way impacted in untold odd ways.
Very few tests to show how any number of ways it corrupts the fetus or New Born.
The advice is to get tested beforehand...Fertility Clinics are the new Gold Mines.
This in itself will price young couples out of raising a family.
tbb swears none of this info was factored into projected population shortfalls.
Costello's Baby Bonus *StarShot** Troops won't be enough to rally the Nation.
Have to rig up positive negative Airport Hot Camps for Pizza Boys.
Sure! Be even better to hide that from the record unemployed shooting stars.
tbb has shared that Govt's are 3-6months behind revealing basic Covid pitfalls.
Not even touched on long covid cases of non work & constant care.
It seems Covid is with us for the long haul.
Here’s a couple of neoliberal witches for your Monday morning.....enjoy !
you should've put one of facto's (many) profile pics up and made it three
I was expecting a really bad LNP bashing article, but the article makes the government/ Scomo look good (view being priority for Aussies returning home)
And Berejiklian doesn't look bad for the people that she cares about NSW voters as is focussing on NSW economy.
I didn't take the article in a negative way.
Indo - it’s a puff piece.
Scomo and Gladys are both pushing for the human importation Ponzi to restart. Gladys is doing Scotty’s dirty work cause it happens to align with her own.
If Galdys gave a rat fuck about the people of NSW she wouldn’t be talking about bringing in hundreds of thousands ( millions ? ) of exploitable and desperate visa slaves to compete with NSW workers for jobs whilst the true unemployment rate sits above 10 percent. Much higher in places.
"talking about bringing in hundreds of thousands ( millions ? ) of exploitable and desperate visa slaves to compete with NSW workers for jobs whilst the true unemployment rate sits above 10 percent."
This comment perfectly represents the idiot blue collar conservative.
Does blowin ever blame the government for not creating enough jobs? No. Does he ever point the finger at bosses who underpay staff and exploit workers? Of course not. He knows who to blame. It's the immigrants. It's ALWAYS the immigrants.
Blaming some poor international student getting fucked over by some desperate 7/11 franchisee is victim bashing in the extreme. Pointing the finger at backpackers / overseas students / new Australians pouring coffees for fuck all an hour is pathetic.
I fucking despise the middle class who blame people on the lowest rung on the economic ladder. White trash whingers are just useful idiots for wage thieves and worker exploiters.
"angry online, smiley in the brine"
VL you both said the same thing. People here rort the system. Immigrants get taken advantage of and Australia sees the further casualisation of jobs and gig economics.
No he didn't VL. he clearly blamed both scomo and gladys in that comment.
bonza. That's your interpretation and you're welcome to it. I see blowin's comment as just another post in a very very long line of anti-immigrant commentary. It goes back many many years.
A few months ago blowin was demanding South Korean's be rounded up for deportation because they were takin' our agriculture jerbs.
Foreign workers get ridiculously exploited by good old salt of the earth Aussie farmers. They can't find enough Aussie pickers because the reputation for exploitation is well deserved. Does blowin get on his high horse and point the finger at the shameful labor practices on Aussie farms? Fuck no, he's too busy trying to round up the Asians.
just like your saw my earlier comment as based on "absolute falsehoods"? or lumping it with the "racists and the tin foil hat mob talk absolute shit with zero response. It's called, putting the nutters and scumbags back in their box.”
Sorry Vic, I didn't read it the way you're interpreting it either.
I'd suggest you have another look.
With respect Zen, I'm seeing blowin's comment through the prism of his very long and nauseating history of immigrant bashing.
He clearly despises immigrants and Australian governments who don't share his anti-immigrant agenda.
and there lies your problem...
you see every comment through a prism of miserable assumptions solely designed to shut down every conversation and inflate your own ego through virtue signalling
not intending to be mean, its not your fault you've been brainwashed....
but if you are going to claim to be smart and stuff, at least display enough brains to cover your tracks, like facto....
same with being a guardianista grammar nazi, at least be competent enough to call others out, like facto...
otherwise you just look like a bit of an idiot
facto still looks like a bit of an idiot, but that's more about xi fucking up his little corona inspired chess game...
and the dems being more corrupted than their arch nemesis master if corruption
Suggest you just read the words VL .
Light through a prism breaks up into its component colours - red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet .This is known as dispersion.
There has been reported exploitation of all types of workers , not just immigrants which is deplorable.
"Suggest you just read the words..."
"facto still looks like a bit of an idiot, but that's more about xi fucking up his little corona inspired chess game...
and the dems being more corrupted than their arch nemesis master if corruption"
Any 3rd party want to try and explain this gobbledygook?
oh come on facto, I talked you up a bit beforehand
it was a bit of a 'sandwich' if you will...
and it really isn't your fault that 'the left's' positions, 'the left's' assumptions on a global scale have proven to be rather pathetic, and somewhat preposterous...
acceptance is key mate, you'll get there
Again, any 3rd party out there wanna lend a hand?
The ABC playing its role of controlled opposition to perfection. Here is an example of the mask slipping enough when necessary to promote it’s neoliberal mandate . Taxpayer funded broadcaster playing propaganda for the human importation Ponzi used in this instance to specifically destroy labour costs. Just cause the ABC plays woke dont ever asssume it’s on the side of the Australian people.
I thought you were working your way through it
oh well, I can't help you here, ...a 3rd party won't help much either... we'll talk later...
