New Victoria restrictions

Just watched the press release from Dan Andrews and I really feel for how victorians are going to once again pay for others stupidity. Not sure how they are going to police the 1 hour exercise policy but a trip down the coast for a surf could be costly. I understand these new restrictions are mainly Melbourne suburbs and I’m very grateful for where I live NSW Qld border. When we were in shutdown there was no time limit for our exercise thank god as a 3 hour surf kept me sane after losing my job.

I was thinking about you yesterday as I raped your whiting stocks. Your flathead remained unthreatened though ....didn’t catch one. I was courteous enough to plow a few extra channels through the sand banks around there as I smashed into them with my prop. The river isn’t my natural habitat ....give me the open ocean.

Just had a look at Kempsey it's still dirt cheap, I'm always tempted to grab one of those $100,000+ plus houses as an investment property the rents should pretty much covers the repayments but i can imagine the whole tenant and getting rent and repairs etc would be a nightmare.

Hey Stok/Dx3 twins :)

You have got some pretty good ideas of a coastal move. I love that stretch along the bay Mt Martha way, have driven it a few times. Close to Diggers Club too! MP out to the Island is great too.

We were always doing the coastal shift, Sunny coast QLD to G-town, then from suburbs to coastal Perth, to coastal & hinterland Midwest, to work sending us all over Australia (paid well and got to check out most coasts and develop favourite spots!) Our current location is not far from town so you don't have to do the repeated drive Lorne-Geelong (killer with teenagers work + friends + sport + L-plates). I too don't mind the cold, just wait till your kids are threading snowboards through the Snow Gums (unique! N Hemi just has straight pines to deal with) and you'll be smiling a mile wide. Changing weather provides an absorbing canvas to keep looking at - I've done the 'Groundhog Day' weather up in Karratha and really missed clouds. Blowin, were you the guy with the tent on the salt lakes when Karratha was booming in 2006-7? Accomodation was so tight, people were staying in shipping containers in the industrial area and one worker just pitched a tent on the salt flats... Nice setup too, well done on the locales & lifestyle :) That last link, I'd be looking a bit further south.

Freeride I hear your gal on the more remote move... There are gems...

Some wild times in Sea Ripple. Nothing like being startled awake at 2AM on a Tuesday morning by the Maori living next door who is trying to pile drive a hooker’s head through the wall between you as he takes her from behind. And when he drunkenly threatens to stab you when you mention it to him at the lunch line a few days later.

My wife hasn’t seen her balinese family for 2 years , are we selfish for wanting to see family ? We are willing to pay for quarantine and have booked and paid for return tickets with Jetstar in May 2021 returning mid July $1500 return for 3 of us and a shit load of luggage , I’m 59 and not at all concerned about getting covid , I’m fit and healthy and follow a good diet . Where we are going is extremely remote and more people are sick with malnutrition than covid which to many balinese is nothing but a sneeze. I don’t actually believe Jetstar will fly come May 2021 but by their rules they have our money so if flights don’t go they have to put us on next available flight at no extra cost. . If the government is allowing foreigners in then Australians should be allowed to travel . I contracted para typhoid on my first trip to Bali in 1980 , I know what it’s like to be told you are dying by a doctor, I also believe what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. I won’t allow anyone to have me living in fear . And if ever I needed assistance overseas I wouldn’t be contacting the Australian government , their track record for helping Australians overseas sux big time , I have expats and locals that I can rely on.

Yes i know thats why ive never done it, don't know why but i like Kempsey but its got a pretty average reputation and then where the cheap houses (south & west areas) have the worst reputations, crime, break ins, ice, pretty rough al round for a regional coastal town.

I've never heard anything good about Kempsey. I lived in Port Macquarie ten years ago. A guy I studied with bought in Kempsey and moved with his family there because it was cheap. He killed himself last year, leaving behind a daughter. Not saying the move to K dump was a cause but...

On a happier note, the best bananas and avocados I've ever had are grown by a guy named Will right near Grassy Head.

Another ABF fail...
https://www.skynews.com.au/details/_6201915289001

"We don't give a fuck who comes to Australia!"
"Don't care if they have Covid!"
"Don't give a Shit where they're from!"
"Couldn't care less if it's one or one hundred thousand!"
"Couldn't give a fuck what their Names are!"
"Don't give a Fuck about the Safebet app!"
"ABF will again spread the virus thru Mbne International Airport.(Burp!)
"We hired Trump's Limo to tour NSW/Vic's Hot Spots"

That's some super manly spreading by Trump's ABF.
Shades of Scomo's Hot Boxes.

25 March PM was runnin' Hot Hotels before States even Signed off.
Dodgy Hawaii 5'0 > Swissotel (Brendon swears Zero cases) > 5 [+] go hospital?
Private Bouncers on every floor, Guests saw Cops just once & never any posh ADF)
All this ABF/ADF/AFP/ Cops on every door Blue Light Shockjock Security...(All Lies!)
2 weeks later PM spreads 121 (30%) positives thru Buses & Oz Airports.

How good are Hot Hotels...sets up his Nat' Spreading Scheme to wipe out Oz cities.
Day 1 of his National Hot Hotel Scheme & NSW let 33 spreaders roam Oz CBD's.

PM insists, if Positive Hot Hotel cases can walk, they can spread thru our Cities
Inquiry corruptly paints this as a Vic thing (liars!) 100% Scomo' Oz wide it was!
NSW Hot Hotels turnstyle kept spinning & twirling again with today's gift! (Hi Vic!)
Add on the ABF 1000's Cruise cases + 350 Diseased Hotel Evacuation / xxx ADF.

[Factcheck] None escaped Vic Quarantine unlike NSW renowned open door Policy.

How is Dan on trial for PM's endless - NSW / ABF / ADF Mbne Airport Hotel fails?
Govt never secured o/s arrivals from Mbne Airport to Hot Hotels as ever promised.

Inquiry only has to ask why the PM lied & pulled ADF from Mbne Airport..(Finished)
An honest inquiry starts the from the PM's scheme then Day 1 Arrival gate > Hotel.
That's the only way people will respect the result...This inquiry is a gutless sham!

Mbne never had any fleeing VIP Chinese in need of Sydney Penthouse Privacy.
ADF's #1 job was to secret Scomo's VIP crims into Top Level Quarantine... Durr!
The first 6 buses AFP Presidential Motorcade from Airport to Hot Penthouses.
This was to ensure their privacy & keep media at bay...(No! Not bullshit!)
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-03-29/first-airport-passengers-face-man...
Oh golly gee! Why didn't Vic have cool ADF! (Well! You need PM's VIP Mobsters!)
Why would the PM hire ADF to waste time on standard Vic plebs! (Coz he said so?)

So now our PM burst Victoria's bubble all over again...
Dan has sent out an Alert for Australia to find Wally's Hot 17.
PM's Hot Hotel / Aged care fail, Dan again takes the blame & mops up Scomo virus!
All we know is history will repeat & Dan will be fronting Vic Bubble Inquiry...
Scomo is already fitting him up...he's been framed, tarred & feathered...once again!

Dan:"No half baked Hot Boxes! No Gran's Meth dip! No popping Bubble Wrap!"
Inquiry: "How do you expect us to believe that...just tell us The Truth...The Truth!"
Dan : " I dunno wot more you want...maybe...Poo Bum Shit Wee!"
Inquiry: "Well, at least now, our Premier is starting to talk some sense!"

OMG...save yourselves Victoria! (Gold Coast Bulletin Jury don't suit you!)

I really hope this doesn’t happen as victorians have been through a lot this year but if another cluster forms and we see a repeat of the meatworks episode does Victoria go straight back into lockdown ? With csiro releasing a report that the virus can now stay active on certain surfaces for up to 28 days it seems everyone really needs to stay focused. For Victoria to go into shut down again l can see a lot of people losing their minds and who knows what will happen. Some say when a vaccine becomes available it will all change but that is wishful thinking. I believe the government needs to do more on protecting those that are vulnerable to how covid will affect them and let the healthy get on with it while still practicing basic social distancing rules

That's all well and good super freak, but avoiding a third wave in Vic or a second wave in NSW will take serious discipline. We know how small mistakes, have huge consequences very quickly when people get complacent.
We simply can't have a situation when 25% of people go out in public while waiting for their test results. We can't have people working multiple jobs in high risk industries, we can't have sick people not getting tested, we can't have kids holding huge indoor parties. And we should never tolerate politicians and media scum deliberately undermining the message of the CHO.
Over the next three months, we will get to see the human and economic tragedy this virus causes in Europe and the USA. It's a very big warning to staying diligent.
Oh and blowin, the rise in deaths inevitably follows the rise in new daily cases. Everyone knows that except for people with shit for brains.

Wow that's a big difference.

Why the high death rate with first wave and then low death rate with second wave?, even though the second wave of cases is higher in numbers.

I know over time we would learn and treatment improve somewhat, but that's a huge difference.

Pity we don't have a graph showing those who had to go on ventilators etc.

IMHO it's kind off harder for Australia now due to our low cases, we have no choice but to try to control things and go into lockdowns, just the political fall out not too will ensure this.

While other countries with big numbers can now take a more relaxed middle of the road approach.

Not saying we didn't do the right thing, but yeah.

The economic tragedy has not been caused by the few hundred passings of octogenarian diabetics in Australia it’s been caused by the complete shuttering of the economy.

Dan Andrews knew the Victorian economy was FUCKED the minute the mass immigration / edumigration Ponzi was disrupted and so he elected to arbitrarily shut the community down amd lock, people in their houses without scientific evidence to support his unmandated decision .

This gave him an excuse for the destruction of the Victorian economy and the excuse to seek CHINESE money to rebuild it .

Goofy ....Victorians travel and add to crowds everywhere.

A loose approximation would be that for every fifty Victorians visiting each state there would be a single reciprocal traveller visiting Victoria.

50 Victorians in NSW = 1 NSWelshman in Victoria.

I’d say even less for QLD and WA. Let’s face it , if Victoria wasn’t between SA , NSW , WA , QLD and Tassie .....no one would go there.

If Vic was where WA is it would receive about 5 travelling surfers per year.

Don’t let the old surf media “ Annual Bells run “ bullshit fool you ....no one gives a fuck about your cold , slopey brown water close outs . If we are being honest there’s probably better waves in Ulladulla alone than the whole of Victoria...why go there ?

I agree not to much reason to travel to Vic other than to tick it off the list and most of the waves are pretty fat and even the hollow ones are generally pretty short & heavy, not much in-between like the east coast.

But having also lived in QLD & NSW for quite a few years, Victoria kills it for consistency it's pretty rare for it to ever get un-surfable and if it is its generally from too much wind my local beach maybe gets dead flat a few days a year and even when small rarely stays under 2ft for long, while on the east coast especially the Goldie and even worse the Sunny coast, you can go weeks sometimes without it getting above 2ft and even weeks without a proper offshore that really cleans things up.

Everywhere has it pro's and cons though, I always found when im down here in Vic I really miss those east coast little wedgey type waves and off course those sand bottom points and warm water, but when I've been up there for a while i miss those long straight lines of groundswell Vic gets and i sometimes miss the changes of the seasons,

Blowin's picture
Blowin's picture
Blowin Sunday, 18 Oct 2020 at 8:54pm

Don’t get me wrong , I reckon the East coast is over hyped too. There’s spots that rival anywhere ( except Indo ) but they are mostly ultra crowded. It’s the windows of opportunity and the day to day convenience and blissful existence which gets you by .

I remember years ago when a Bali based French mate told me he’d lived on the Northern beaches of Sydney and had a great time but claimed it was a shift place to be a surfer and I’d been aghast at his refusal to swallow the accepted surf media paradigm .

After thinking about it for a while I realised he was onto it and I’ve never argued otherwise since.

East coast is predominantly low period drivel. To quote Mick “ Crocodile “ Dundee - “ You can live on it but it tastes like shit .”

Indo first , second and third .

Daylight fourth.

Victoria......I can’t count that high .
