Doctor breaks wrist, original casualty loses leg then has an arrest, is kept alive by artificial means, stays in coma for days, recovers to consider re-visiting the river that almost killed him...

Haha, yes it’s great she’s okay but why oh why leave the shelter of your campervan in winter to wander aimlessly. Driving into there she must have known it’s a long way to anywhere.
Geez she made some very bad decisions and most fortunately didn't perish, that's coming from somebody who grew up on a farm out that way in the 60's.
It looked like she had driven into sheer bush dead end going up a rock.... Clueless backpackers ....

I always have this nagging doubt these days when there is a miracle survival story involving a young man / woman of ‘influencer’ age, appearance and circumstance.
The exposure and push these people get is significant.
That said. It’s certainly not always the case and I’m glad she’s been found unscathed.
You are not alone etarip, I have a nagging doubt about any story.
Anyone got any scoop on the Wooli / Solitary Islands story? Seems a looooooong way to get dragged in a current. Surely there would have been better options to paddle back to the mainland?

Ah, still - good news story that the young fella was found. Hope he gets the help he needs.
It’s actually amazing how many people are trying to learn to surf at super dangerous reefs that are way out of their league. Looks fun from the beach but they become a danger to themselves and to those that are capable. I’ve been getting extremely frustrated and annoyed ( plus fucking angry ) with those that want to surf 1-2 ft waves when its 4-5 ft sets and they just bob around in the impact zone paddling into your line every time a set comes .
