Albo bustin out the medicare card like it's kryptonite to Trump and the US
yeahhhh Albo!!

wow! gonna be some rankled curmudgeons withering to ground,
waiting, biding their time.. if you see one, give them a hug.

Geez been a good week to be an Australian. Robbo and Izzy win Bells, Bombers win Thursday night footy, Sally and Steph making heats today at Burleigh, personally been scoring incredible waves all week, Albo and Labor blitz the election....Liberals get demoralised and Spud loses his seat....and Catters beat the bloody Magpies for the cherry on top(it was alot closer than the election! Heartstopper) Magic May, 2025.

Which means the footy finished just before Albos victory speech. Again, a nailbiter.

Dutton can kiss a million hairy beanbags.
The little Albosleezy made a pretty good speech. A bloody good speech.
I hope his second term kicks some goals.

It was literally a one minute gap.

Was an epic speech by one of Australias greatest leaders. Bravo!!
You could tell alot of it was crafted to be replayed on the world stage in relation to the US.

At least Dutton isn’t planning an insurrection on Parliament House.

And Dutton is still wondering if he should scrunch or fold his toilet paper

What are you talking about. ?
One carton too many.

ALP pick up 7 seats at least in QLD. Ya kidding me??

"Was an epic speech by one of Australia's greatest liars".
FTFY.

He’ll be wondering why Gina will no longer take his calls.

jesus, imagine that.. so much arduous crossings of lawn..

While Duttons speech may have appeared fantastic on the surface, it to me was a 'your problem now, i'm saving face, see ya later' speech. Rat to the end.

I'm not up with the kid text talk.
Fuck the footy yappers?

He's right though. The snaggle toothed liar has now to fund his lies.

The best bit will be the "we was robbed" narrative tomorrow. Both from the LibNats and the Pies.

Getting too cold down there now.

well, you see @jef, @thermalben had pointed out that there are no Lib wins in tassie or adelaide. I know Lib voters in both places, and imagined them being disappointed. Then I imagined the more vehemently anti-Labor people, and I gave some thought to that; when someone wins, people are happy.. but others are disappointed.
I have a list of words (probably accumulated during the Voice campaign) that sum up a certain person and mindset. I chose two of these words to represent disgruntled LNP voters: 'rankled' and 'curmudgeon'. I combined these two words and added the idea of giving these people a hug to be a bit disparaging towards their worries and concerns.. to suggest they can be a bit hysterical and maybe they are being sooks sometimes, i.e. they might need a hug to buoy their spirits.
(the rule holds true, explaining makes things way funnier and better..)
heavens to murgatroyd @azza61.. exit, stage right..

@southern is on to it, well done,
I don’t have to take the disgruntlement. !

southernraw wrote:Any thoughts on what Spud might do with his time now he's unemployed?
I picture him as the kinda guy that will park his car at the highest hill nearest to his home and tune his cb radio into the police channel and listen to all the incoming and outgoing calls...kinda feel a part of it. Team player!
Or maybe build model military aeroplanes. I could respect that.
Nah, he will follow a very long line of pollies to gravy train jobs in mining or minerals either directly or indirectly in one of those lobby groups … services rendered to Gina and all that ….
Haha … and the Cats got up

Well done! @ basesix

Always happy to bear a bit of the load Jeffrey. You do a very good job and i always appreciate your conviction. Oh, and you haven't been wrong so far re. Trump. Funny that eh! hehe.
Thanks.

I think Dutton might be in trouble now,
He definitely won’t qualify for Job Search.

Don’t you mean to face the wind?
No wonder you had to be rescued!

haha, face the wind? you backward fellow, you..

There is going to be a lot of analysis of this election loss. If the LNP are serious they will have a deep internal look at a failed campaign
strategy, of which there is lot to unpack.
One piece of advice from someone who doesn’t know a lot, (Elections in Australia are won by gaining the middle ground.( Howard. & Hawke knew this better than most). The LNP have to ignore the Sky after dark narrative and not engage in the culture wars, The Australian electorate generally look forward not back and will embrace centralised policy positions, and ffs, don’t roll policy out on the run you knew there was a election coming in April/May.

Don’t get how anyone gets the least bit fired up over all of this guff. Let alone gets all giddy and cheer squaddy. LNP/ALP. Elbow/Spud. Teals. Whoever. Who gives a fuck. It all adds up to the same status quo Australia. Fine if that’s your thing. Perfectly reasonable stance. Just don’t understand all of the waving of the scarves and all of the schoolgirly schadenfreud over the whole bloody circus. A vote for one is the same as a vote for the other. Apart from a few fringe issues I guess, that don’t much matter in the big picture. Culcha warrior stuff, if you like. I mean, by all means, call me Poida, but one can only conclude that this is what is turning all of the gold jacket toting Joffas all a tizzy. It’s the culcha, stupid. We’re from Elbow land, yellow and black!
The Opposition leader’s concession speech was surprising though. Not cos he was nice. Always laugh when the loser gets praised for their ‘gracious’ concession speech. Why didn’t you show such grace before? You might have won. Kim Beazley’s concession speech was gracious and powerful. He said some stuff. Why didn’t you try that before big fella - saying some stuff? You mighta won.
No. It’s just that I remember Mr. Dutton as the virile incarnation of a hard cnt front rower from Queensland, a don’t you be fuckin’ with me drug squad bovver boy. Having not followed the campaign at all, I found his transformation into cool girl brat boy fallen out of a coconut tree bumpin’ that in the neon lime green context of all that came before him, quite confronting.

What’s it to you , at least I don’t live in the Northern suburbs of Hobart.
I definitely won’t be taking advice from a self confessed lid flip !
Might as well put this up in the politics subforum, to spare the front page. It's 18 months away or so, but here we go.
This is how Dutton wins:
