Did u i just see the Nationals lost Orange?? Mudgee?? Holeeeey moley.

good point @TH.. anyone getting Independents they like? or losing them because Dutton drove the voters screaming to Labor or Greens?

I picture him as the kinda guy that will park his car at the highest hill nearest to his home and tune his cb radio into the police channel and listen to all the incoming and outgoing calls...kinda feel a part of it. Team player!
Or maybe build model military aeroplanes. I could respect that. He'll already have his cushy corporate job lined up with one of his lobbyist mates. Just like ScoMo.
Haha true @TH. Part of the deal really isn't it.

He has a few Child Care centres to look after, he will be busy enough.

Look for the Meidastouch video of this .

Zero accountability.
Fair question: did the MAGA association impact the Liberal brand going into this election? Her response shows contempt for voters.
She's gotta be dumber than she looks if she cries foul over the media getting a photo of her Facebook as she claimed.
How naive.
And of course it hd a negative effect on the Liberal brand.
Totally toxic.

And of course it had a negative effect on the Liberal brand, especially combined with her "slip of the tongue" when she talked about "make Australia great again".
Totally toxic.

A result such as this will likely see the LNP cast into the political wilderness for the next six years. They really have no hope of recovering any credibility whatsoever in regard to implementing any positive policy initiatives: their campaign was notable for its overwhelming negativity and policy reversals.
On a more optimistic note, could this massive rejection of the LNP see the end of their “war on woke”. Their attacks on “the left” and the values they hold strongly have become tedious and tiresome and the result may indicate the population in general have had enough.

@basesix
My electorate, Wentworth, is an independent seat and my MP is Allegra Spender. I like her, she works for the local community. She is very much against massive property developers coming in and knocking down the old art deco buildings to put up high rises. She also advocates for retaining the public housing in the area and not selling it off to developers.

Geez i don't ever remember an election being wrapped up before the end of Saturday night footy!

Dutton is up. Let’s hope he (doesn’t) fall off the stage and break his neck.

I hope so mate.

Pretty gracious speech from Spud actually.

She's a keeper TH!

Never thought I'd say this, but Trump is low key the MVP tonight haha!

It is a good speech by Dutton, very nice touch regarding Ali France.

Fair call @AndyM.
Shame he couldn't be a real human when it counted.
Probably would have won.

yeh. nice guy. I'd vote for him.

AndyM wrote:It is a good speech by Dutton, very nice touch regarding Ali France.
Agree...
Little slip though with describing his working relationship with Littleproud as partners in crime .
Freudian slip...

Nah I’m not going there
Good riddance
Horrid individual

Geez whipping....
Good night.

Yep, I'm out too.
See you all in the live chat tomorrow.

@SR Well he’s a bit messed up so his hot v my hot may differ. My hot has to include a personality and some sense of humility.

Scores level in the foosball.

All tied up at the G. 71-71. Carn Catters!!

Classy and timely acknowledgement of traditional owners Penny Wong!

Was thinking that today.
I wonder if they'll mention it on the broadcast tomoz or too topical for the vanilla woz.
They say they want to be more real to the core.....here's your first opp

Sypco must have had an early night....

I'm not a Dutton fan but that was a gracious concession speech. Good on him for doing the right thing.

Still waiting for @ Indo and @ Optis
Concession speeches.
Albo should be thanking Trump in his victory.
speech

gsco, too
there's only ever one thing that can make a thing a thing with him.
silver bullet reductionism.. I reckon this would be the wrong thing..

Cats up by 2 goals as Albo hits a homer!

Was hoping for
"This is a fraud on the Australian public. This is an embarrassment to our country. We were getting ready to win this election. Frankly, we did win this election."

Dutton’s speech fine in some respects but was lacking in any sense of accountability. “We are not what they (the ALP) say we are.”. Handed his arse on ab platter and it’s not his fault in any way. It was good that he conceded early.

This could be world record territory. Prime minister to finish his victory speech before the bloody footy has finished!

Exactly how i read it @blackers. Well picked up.

So far no Greens, One Nation or TOP have been elected.

The greatest player in history Dangerfield is bringing the Cats home, and completely ruining Indos life right now. hehe

Craig McCrae concession shortly. Carna Cas!

btw cheers for the 20percent HECS cut Albo. Much appreciated.

Wow, no Liberals in Tas and none in suburban Adelaide either.
Might as well put this up in the politics subforum, to spare the front page. It's 18 months away or so, but here we go.
This is how Dutton wins:
