A good pulse of W/SW swell filled in yesterday with light variable winds across the Mornington Peninsula and morning offshores on the Surf Coast. This provided good waves across most spots before a fresh onshore change developed into the afternoon.

The swell and winds have just steadied out the last couple of days with morning offshores and clean conditions across most spots creating fun waves. Today a less favourable S'ly is blowing across Margs, while further north winds were lighter and more variable.
South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales Surf Forecast by Ben Matson (issued Wednesday 12th March)
Best Days: Thurs/Fri: quality trade swell. Sun/Mon: Solid E'ly swell but with varibale conditions (best up north on Saturday, and down south o Sunday). Mon: easing E'ly swell with generally good conditions.
Recap: Strong trade swell with excellent waves across the points in SE Qld/Northern NSW, and great beachies across the Mid North with lighter morning winds.

Best Days: Every morning over the coming period down South, with Thursday morning and Friday afternoon worth a look on the Mid Coast

Small clean waves were seen down South yesterday morning as we fell between swells under light offshores, but a change moved through during the day, writing off the surf into the afternoon. The Mid Coast saw tiny waves that lifted to a bumpy 1-1.5ft during the afternoon with the arrival of a new W/SW groundswell.

Some fun NE windswell was seen across the coast yesterday, but this has eased back today with the odd 2ft set still breaking at north-east swell magnets under light variable winds.
South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales Surf Forecast by Ben Matson (issued Monday 10th March)
Best Days: Most days: plenty of quality trade swell. Sat/Sun: strong building E'ly swell becoming large at exposed spots, but with difficult winds (most likely Sun). Mon: solid, easing E'ly swell but with improving conditions as a change works up the coast.
Best Days: Wednesday afternoon through Sunday morning

Saturday started off tiny but a small increase in long-range SW groundswell was seen during the afternoon but sea breezes created average conditions. Sunday offer better conditions with a small easing swell under N/NE winds favouring exposed locations around the South Arm.
Today we're back to a tiny 1ft under offshore winds.

The weekend didn't offer much in the way of decent surf, as a change Friday afternoon lingered into Saturday and Sunday in the South West, while further north more favourable SE winds were seen Sunday morning but with small amounts of swell.
Sydney, Hunter and Illawarra Surf Forecast by Ben Matson (issued Monday 10th March)
Best Days: Thursday and early Friday: chance for light variable winds under a trough of low pressure, along with a slowly building trade swell. SaturdayandSunday: Building E/NE swell - large by late Sunday - but with difficult winds. Monday: pumping, easing E'ly swell with moderate offshore winds.

Best Days: Wednesday on the Mid Coast, Thursday onwards down South

The South Coast offered fun peaky waves on Saturday with a building SW groundswell under NE winds which persisted into the afternoon ahead of late sea breezes. The Mid Coast offered fun peelers into the afternoon and evening before easing overnight after the swell peak.
