South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales Surf Forecast by Ben Matson (issued Friday 4th April)
Best Days: Sat: small peaky waves early morning, mainly in SE Qld and Far Northern NSW. Sun: fun waves with a S'ly change and an inconsistent E'ly swell. Late Mon/Tues/Wed: building SE swell (peaking Tues PM) with great winds for the points.
A small reinforcing W/SW swell kept good 1-2ft waves hitting Clifton yesterday, but today was the day to go surfing with the arrival of a strong and powerful W/SW groundswell under light offshores. This swell peaked across Clifton at 3-4ft, while more exposed locations were much bigger.

A mix of medium sized S/SW and W/SW groundswell filled in yesterday to a clean 1-2ft across the Mid Coast and a larger 4ft at Middleton and 4-5ft at Waits but conditions were poor around Victor with fresh S/SE winds.

The swell increased further during yesterday across both coasts, with the Torquay region performing the best with an early W'ly breeze and 3ft+ of swell before fresh S/SW winds kicked in.
Today a much larger and stronger SW groundswell has filled in to 4-5ft on the Surf Coast and 8ft on the Mornington Peninsula, but conditions are still poor with fresh S/SE winds.
Nias, Mentawai, South Sumatra forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Thursday April 3rd)
Best Days: Friday, Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
This week and weekend (Apr 3 - 6)
Tomorrow is still looking to be the pick of the period around the Ments with the arrival of an inconsistent but good S/SW groundswell across Western Indonesia.
Thanks very much for posting the Tassie Forecasts again.
I realise we have a small population so the website hits from us are low, however the ratio of surfers/general population in Hobart is very high.
The East Coast is really difficult to forecast from the models and charts as we are often affected by the westerly pattern down here.
Even a 3 line summary can help plenty.
Thanks again guys.
South Australian Forecast (issued Monday 7th April)
Best Days: Tuesday - Thursday at exposed spots down South, Saturday morning at exposed spots down South
Recap
Friday's swell backed off considerably into Saturday with peaky waves in protected locations across the South Coast under a morning E/NE'ly.
