South Australian Forecast (issued Monday 7th April)

Best Days: Tuesday - Thursday at exposed spots down South, Saturday morning at exposed spots down South

Recap

Friday's swell backed off considerably into Saturday with peaky waves in protected locations across the South Coast under a morning E/NE'ly.

Sunday saw the arrival of a new long-range SW groundswell and winds were better and offshore from the N'th for a period creating good clean conditions across the South Coast before fresh S/SE sea breezes kicked in.

Yesterday's kick in groundswell is easing slowly today but the South Coast was great again with easing 3-4ft surf at Middleton, with bigger sets at Waits under N/NE winds, creating excellent conditions. The Mid remained tiny and in the 1ft range on the sets.

This week (Apr 7 - 11)

Unfortunately there's nothing major on the cards for this week with wave heights expected to slowly drop away through tomorrow and Wednesday. A small increase in long-range S/SW groundswell is on the cards for Thursday afternoon and Friday but this will just keep small 2ft to occasionally 3ft sets at Waits with smaller 2ft surf at Middleton.

Winds will be favourable nearly all week with morning offshores until Friday when a funkier W'ly breeze is due ahead of a weak S/SW change.

This weekend onwards (April 7th onwards)

The surf will remain small into the weekend with Saturday being the best day to surf at the exposed beaches on the South Coast with a light offshore N'ly.

Into next week we may see some better S/SW groundswell into the middle to end of the week but the models are divergent on the the developments of a low in the Tasman Sea and deepening surface trough towards WA. So we'll have to review the outlook again on Wednesday.
