We’ve got a series of strong new W’ly tending W/SW swells, originating from a weather system I’ve been discussing since last Monday;
Moving into the start of the weekend, the surf will ease slightly off the back of today’s large pulse.
Most of these winds are aimed away from the Surf Coast, but the sheer strength will override the directional deficiencies and should allow for a healthy spread back into Bass Strait.
Small conditions oer the coming week. A touch of easterly trade swell for southeast QLD and southerly energy for northen NSW. Light winds early each day preceding a northeasterly seabreeze.
South facing beaches will be your friend this weekend with all other swell windows remaining fairly quiet. Early sessions are the go under light winds. Northeasterly breezes increasing each afternoon.
Building swell in the coming days, becoming large on Friday and Monday. Perth and Mandurah the only workable options in terms of wind in the early morning of Thursday and Friday.
Friday’s new swell is much different, however the bulk of its energy will only favour the South Coast.
Points and back beaches are in for a fun, workable weekend of surf in the 2-3ft range. Mornings will be the go preceding afternoon seabreezes.
No major change to the forecast notes issued Monday. The swell period charts are still showing two swell fronts for the coming days; one through this afternoon and another early Friday.
