Next week is looking subdued but with periods of mostly favourable winds. The gist of it is a band of blocking high pressure and a suppressed zonal storm track.
Broadly speaking the size trend will be steadily up Saturday, and then slowly down on Sunday.
Weak high pressure and slack winds in the Coral Sea are leading to a prolonged spell of tiny/flat surf which will extend over the weekend and into next week.
S’ly groundswell is currently being generated by a slow moving polar low on the far edge of the swell window well to the SW of Tasmania. Most of this swell is better aimed at the southern states and South Pacific targets but we will see some refraction into the East Coast of Tasmania

Model guidance suggests surf size will ease through Monday, but I feel that this is when we’ll see another round of swell push into the South Arm.
Friday’s front will have displayed a large, slow moving fetch behind it for a few days prior and that will have generated a strong swell that’s expected...
No great change to the short term outlook- a strong polar low flared up as it passes under WA and today with gales to severe gales well aimed at SW and southern WA.
The outlook for Thursday has improved a little. And the weekend is looking great, with quality waves both days.
