SE Qld will be relying on the fading leftovers of groundswell from TC Ola on Thursday, plus short range SE energy from the building ridge.
Bummer about Thursday's local winds, as we’re looking at a pretty strong southerly groundswell pushing through during the day.
On Friday, as a high pressure system migrates below the state, winds will tend light NE down south early morning.
This will certainly focus the best surf towards the exposed beaches of the Mornington Peninsula and Phillip Island.
For those non-travellers out there, ‘Ola’ is Spanish for ‘waves’, which has gotta mean something, right?
I’m not expecting much swell from TC Ola at this stage, mainly due to the short fetch length that has developed inside our swell window, and the position of TC Ola relative to the swell shadow offered by the Hunter curve.
Early indications are Saturday will be your only day to surf this weekend.
Thursday is probably your best chance at a surf this week.
