Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 9th December)

Best Days: Beginners Wednesday morning, Friday morning

Recap

A solid SW swell Saturday but cleanest in protected spots, easing back from 3ft with a bit more south in the direction yesterday and with variable winds early. Today was cleaner but on the way out.

This week and weekend (Dec 10 - 15)

We've got a small new SW swell due to build through tomorrow and reach 1-2ft into the afternoon, tiny early. Unfortunately winds look average and onshore with a change moving through early morning, clean Wednesday but tiny and easing from 1-1.5ft or so. This will be ideal for beginners.

A small lift in weak mid-period W/SW swell is due later Thursday and more so Friday, produced by a fetch of W/SW winds moving in from the west over the coming days.

This won't have any major strength and we'll see only 1-2ft of swell later Thursday and Friday morning, onshore on the former and clean again Friday morning with a NW offshore.

Following this there's nothing significant on the cards besides a very inconsistent and westerly long-period swell on Monday, likely to 1-1.5ft. Have a check back Wednesday for any change to the outlook.
