We've got a delay in the change in winds due this afternoon, shifted to midday tomorrow. There are plenty of surfing options for the coming week.
Strong trades through the central and northern Coral Sea over the weekend will gradually extend south by late Sunday, nosing just far enough into SE Qld’s eastern swell window to allow for a minor increase in short range E/NE energy.
Bit of a slow weekend ahead, with easing southerly swells for Saturday becoming very small into Sunday.
A weak N/NE windswell will stop the coast going flat but next weekend looks more promising for surf.

Into the medium term and a series of deep lows and fronts amassed in the Southern Ocean look to send some small, long period refracted S swell to Tas towards the end of next week. No great size is expected due to the swell direction, so expect some 2ft days to bring in the first days of Spring.
