Cocaine Worth Nearly $2 Million Washes up at Jeffreys Bay

Stu Nettle picture
Stu Nettle (stunet)
Swellnet Dispatch

On Wednesday, cocaine with an estimated street value of R20 million (AUD $1.75 million) washed up at Supertubes, Jeffrey's Bay.

The consignment was found by passers-by while walking their dog on the beach around 5:30am.

Upon opening the package, local police found several compressed bricks of pure white cocaine, weighing 46kg. The bricks were contained in a thick black plastic bag sealed on top to prevent contact with water. This was then tied to an empty plastic container to keep it afloat.

Each brick had a picture of Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo on it. Gallardo, who is more commonly known as El Jefe de Jefes ('The Boss of Bosses'), is a convicted Mexican drug lord and ran the Guadalajara Cartel in the 1970s.

The suspected drugs were seized for forensic examination.

Online community publication St Francis Today says the local constabulary "have been working working around the clock – often without sleep – to solve this one."

Hi..like a couple of others here I don't find Cocaine-use or any other drug deemed 'illicit' to be an amusing subject although paradoxically a couple of the comments were cleverly amusing. Pot arrived in quantum around the early days of Farrelly and Twizzle, that's what 50 odd years ago...Some girls would give a blow-job out back of the Canopus room for a joint. Some decades later I indirectly employed some Kings Coss detectives in a large security force for a models' 'rave' party up off William Street..I was laqter much angered...and disappointed...to find some models were giving blowies to some of the detectives working for me in exchange for drugs supplied by those police .

Of the dozen or so mates I had down Nth Steyne or met more often at the Brighton all but one were dead owing to pot or heroin use by the time I was 23. Later 3 girls I knew who were suppliers were murdered, over drug money. With USA and Israel as two of the major hypocrites as profoundly involved with 'drug lords'...as publicly noted in Reagnas efforts to get rid of Carter for example and therecent 'president' of the USA being a cocaine and valium addiction the future isn't rosy. USA's CIA post WW11 devsed LSD and used it in 'experimental' assassinations and on unsuspecting convicts. With police and customs involvement 'one wonders'.

The bag found tethered to a flaot is a common method iof collection into the world's most prolici 'per-capita' user of Cocaine and perhaps ICE as well as grog....and for every ton of Cocaine or Kilo of Metha's chem's it was calculated (somehow) that 9 times that gets in and used...

Jailing people is a high risk way of 'enabling them to have a useful life afterwards'...but what else for dealers and manufacturers and financiers?...one way helicopter trip?...feed to sharks....public whipping?...whatever extreme solution is undertaken will see psychopathic or sociopathic reactivity as seen in the 'underworld' and the bikie gangs which are, unfortunately, known to be major crime syndicates yet allowed to exit,

I worked as voluntay for some 18 months at Odyssey House Minto...seeing more of the devastation to users and their families. None of it is amusing and none is cured by 'liberalising' drug use. On the other hand jail is harrdly a solution either...When freedom becomes licence morality becomes a casualty. The pain is excruciating of watching, so loved a son or daughter destroying themselves on what they think they need to stay alive. or 'feel good' The family often enough sent broke by the addfict's theft and emotionally broken by seeing their child sent to jail. 'Strong love' isn't much of a reknowned solution....it's a desperation move but users see every kindness as an effort to manipulate them... giving .more excuses for continuing same or more usage. 'Partying' today means 'cocaine-use tolerance'...another word signifying 'inocence lost'...

Getting back to the prompt...I worked a while as a specialist P-I...essentially major fraud, arson and explosives....but other 'specialist' matters also from time to time. Then I found my employer (ex detective) was a crook and, having made my plaint, walked-out. At that time for a lot or cash buying a 'share in the business' he/they were protecting the paedophile homosexual who invested in the business ...An intelligent man up top of Telstra, they 'sanitised' him, changed his appearance, fitted him with spectacles and so on... got rid of any photos he had with a child...even in the backround... and indoctinating and harangued his victims that they were at fault....they wre the criminals...just after money from this innocent man......they were young criminals who set him up....all nonsense, but it worked.

That was 1988-89...even then our own and ex-PD files held records of the 'employees' tossing sacks and boxes of drugs overboard 'mid ocean' when getting informed they were going be busteds ('transporting vessels to Australia or yachts bought for the job coming back on a run from China, Vanuatu, USA)....

Others when the Navy vessel or police were in sight...just scuttled or burned the vessel vessel...so much money is involved on the successful runs that sinking a $400,000-$800,000 vessel was insignificant...

You who are users of Cocaine and other illicit drugs finance in luxury these 'vermin'.sociopaths. One can make a similar accuation of the 'prescription drug' providrs, but there a GP is identified and responsible for his actions and today the drug manufacturerers have been 'canonised' owing to the Covid vaccines.

Some deliveries, like the packet in the photos, are later collected or washed up however those getting through find plenty of easy-conscience types, now days with encryption on mobiles willing to use any form of water vessel/vehicle to do the pick-up. The Australian market is so big that losses of $millions are just 'collateral damage'....The financiers are made made filthy rich by the worker-ants who 'must have' their drugs....or who bask in that b/s of 'recreational drug user'. None of it amuses me. To stop it one has to do a lot more than just 'make a dent'

All musical opinions to one side, they were a great bunch of blokes and unreal supporters of new local bands. Tony Jack Clancy Saturday, 18 Dec 2021 at 1:18pm

Hi...whilst there are claims made in mediaq that a thousand subs have been built by the'lords' aroundf 30-40 are detected each year ...again on media advice. One of the variant styles (like covid mutation is ssential to survive aand 'keep ahead') are "winged torpedo-like tubes" fixed to the underside of large ships....bit like the remora fish that attach themselves to sharks,

A decent sub might cost $100M ...covered in profit in a single trip. Some 'subs' are towed and then can be submerged by rermote control and another method is to drop-off packages as in the Swellnet photo as GPS-equipped cargo , hanging off a 'buoy', the GPS guiding the local couriers to the spot. for pickup, I've never come to terms with why ordinary people, in the main, want to pay out their hard earned, steal from family and others to keep in extraordinary luxury the people who use them
for income....ven down to so called (as they are not) 'rock bands, hip hoppers, rappers and other 'what not' ..why not use your money to improve your own life, not theirs...I suppose when commercial and even councils put on Christmas shows for adults and children at which female performers dress sexually enticingly....flashing the delectable bits of bod....to advertise themsaelves using a now ...or tradtionally 'christian' celebration which is geared to modesty....why not dress modestly?....I wonder if anyone who read it wasa surprised by this 18 December media report...how "totally 'F^%$&&^% ed are they???....I realise they are pomm's ...or claim that they are ...but even they surely have some modicum of common sense...yes...? ...what's that..??...."NO" ...oh...ok! ok! gotcha.

One gig we did was for a local bikie club in country South Oz.
A band mate opened his big mouth to someone in the club about my occupation, and during a break one of the head honchos took me aside and offered me a job as a drug cook.
The amount of money I would be paid was eye watering, way more than what I was earning at the time.

This made me real nervous - there was no way I was going to do this, but what would happen if I refused?
I regretfully declined the offer and luckily the guy was cool about it, offered me another beer, and nothing more was said.

Well Andy, I guess you have observed the failure of the current system.
The approach you advocate would have the following affects:
1. Remove millions of $ of income from criminals, (that engenders a strain cool factor in some impressionable youth)
2. Which would reduce / eliminate their financial resources used to corrupt police, the judiciary
3. Reduce the income of lawyers, the burden upon the courts, and the costs thereof
4. Enable the shrinking of the size of the police force (much less crime, not just users & suppliers, but the flow on violence, turf wars etc), and end a b.s. justification for the militarisation of the police force.
5. Decrease insurance premiums as your house is less likely to be burgled ( not as big a deal as it perhaps was)
6. Increase community safety, and the perception of safety.
7. End the road side RDT witch hunt that destroys pot users lives, often for historical use, not driving ability impairment .
8. Enable a “ harm minimisation “ approach. Imagine a shed in the industrial area staffed by a health care worker in a lab coat “ Mr Fiend, back so soon?” (Kids and the wider community would increasingly see the frequent customers of such places correctly as people needing help)
9. Recognise the correct relationship between citizens and government.
It is not up to government to grant us our freedoms, we are born with them. We have allowed government to become too controlling of our everyday lives, and step well outside of their remit, which is to facilitate our lives.
Big brother says, ATM, “whiskey OK, everything else, go to jail”
Yet Humans have looked for a buzz in all (most?) cultures, right through history. It is in us, well many of us.
Example: The pyramid builders workers towns centred around their pubs.
Law abiding tax paying adults should decide for themselves how they spend their time, and how, if at all, they take a buzz.
Big brother deciding for us what freedoms he will “allow” us is a very dangerous slippery slope.
What’s “not good for you”, and who decides?
Perhaps ban donuts, too sugary, yeah that sounds reasonable,
how about dangerous, non productive, non ecological activities,
(unfair imposition on the overloaded medical system, selfish ecological profile)…like motorsports, & well how about surfing?
The point is there are costs to both approaches.
Human and financial, but also costs to how we organise ourselves as a people. Who makes decisions, who we punish and how hard.
As the current system of oppression has clearly failed, destroying millions of lives, perhaps another approach is worth a look aka Portugal.
Please remember, coke, ice etc has been invented.
There is no putting the genie (devil?) back in the bottle.
Harm minimisation is not harm eradication.
For the record, I am a non user ( aside from a few beers) but like all of us in this community have seen the harm done, by the sh*t, and by the mans response.
I have also seen LT recreational, even habitual use go on for many decades without obvious repercussions (aside from $ /time wasted, possible LT health issues?)
One blokes opinion.
Cheers brothers

I had a visit by an 'ASIO' dude at a wharf one day . I had just unloaded and was cleaning down (fnorth coast nsw) .
He was asking around about ships or yachts dumping stuff over the side and if we'd seen any unusual floating 'bouys' . He had "I.D" and a couple of goons in the carpark and to this day I'm not sure if they were legit or not. I was given a card with a phone number but it was just a crimestoppers card and nothing from them (asio D's) themselves. Suss.??

As that floating Armada gets recycled through the system the doggy walkers are going to wake up one morning and think …

Great sound on that album, Tube Shooter. The Horse in good form.

Love the softer version of White Line on the Homegrown album released last year too.
