Postponed // Unfortunately with the current world wide and local pandemic surrounding COVID-19 we've had to postpone the Board Sell/Swap event until further notice. We'll keep you updated.

With the Board Swap event just over a week away I thought I'd provide a few more details about how the day runs and also throw open the donation line for the Lifeline Classic surfing event.

All donations can be made here.

This year, we've moved back to Freshwater to allow for easier pick up and drop off of boards on Undercliff Rd. We'll be set up at Freshwater Reserve, on the grass between restaurants Pilu and Shaka, adjacent to Undercliff Rd and Moore Rd.

Easy board drop off and collect via Undercliff Rd.

The event will run from 9am - 1pm on Sunday the 22nd of March and currently the weather is shaping up nicely.

How does it work?

Sellers should arrive on the day around 8:30am to allow us to sticker up the board with an ID and your asking price, as well as grabbing contact details. This will allow us to set up the boards before kick off. However, if you can't make it that early that's fine, you can come anytime up until midday to drop off boards for sale.

All boards up to $200 will see $20 going to Lifeline, with boards over $200 seeing 10% of the selling price donated.

Cash is king, though we'll have limited EFTPOS facilities.

If you're hanging around we'll try and pass the cash from sales on straight away, unless it's sold by EFTPOS (we'll then grab your bank details).

Sellers should come back at 12:30pm to collect their unsold boards or cash.

Marty from Saltbush Cafe will be running a breakfast BBQ through the morning with all sales going to Lifeline.

Sanctum Surf have also kindly donated the single fin Stinger shown below, with it raffled off on the day. Dimensions are 6’10- 20 5/8. - 3 1/8, coming in at a whopping 46.5lt.

It's a great social and community event with nearly 100 boards on sale each of the last two years, ranging from near new hi-performance shortboards to vintage and collectables.

We're not interested in trashed boards, keep them for council cleanup.

Any further questions? Fire them off below but otherwise I'll see you Sunday week.

Let's see if swellnet crew can flip that Prob? into a (Hassle free event).

*Guidelines prohibit (Non Static) Crowd of 500 over 2hrs + (Essential Exemptions).
https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/alerts/Pages/coronavirus-faqs.aspx

1. Lifeline Mental Health Education (Fundraiser) Lifeline #1 NGO Corona Hotline
Isolation > Anxiety > Suicide is frontline in Corona (Health/Education is exempt!)
swellnet will assuredly follow Lifeline's Corona Virus directive to assist on the day.
https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/individuals/subjects/affected-coron...

2. 'Swapping' germs is slightly less icky than transferring them or palming them off.
Alternate: Board > Trade, Exchange, Barter or good ol' Switcheroo/nie.

3. Nature of board 'swap' has swellnet on watch from word go...Precaution is King!
Entry Gloves (vs) kicking over handy herb potions or stepping on sock glove puppets.

4.Event can split into 2 smaller separate exhibits linked by a walk.
Exhibits should be spaced no closer than 4m between boards = (1.5m person/radius)
No dual matey rail grabs, just strictly looking down yer nose at people.

5. A boardwalk should disband a crowd of 500 + over 2hrs.

6. National Guard is not yer enemy...
If Good Citizen's 3rd eye glimpses 501 in a blink, then yer good cause turns sour!

Crew bow to swellnet's compassion towards nation's most troubled souls.
All here know that precautionary measures count for everything in troubled times.

No harm in sharing Current Charitable Corona way of life.

Some good tips there TBB.

As the event is open air and at one time there's not likely to be more than 50 it should be fine.

Though will might have antiseptic on call.
