Excellent footage from the Eddie, including great drone views.
After a closeout set intro, the video goes back to the pre-contest surfing then the first heats, seeming to indicate there may be some order to the proceedings, yet much like the webcast, it soon loses direction.
Doesn't matter though, the footage is crystal clear and the filmers capture a large whack of the days best rides from both air and land.

I reckon he realised he’s not under it enough and wasn’t going to get over the hump. I don’t think he could of caught it. Deceiving footage I reckon.
He looks a lot further out than he needed to be to catch that wave.
I can’t imagine anyone out there that day would of pulled back due to fear.

Obviously iits impossible to grab rail and hang on at those speeds.
I would want some kind of handles on my big wave gun. Maybe an occy strap or something I could use to pull the board against my feet during the inevitable air drop or where they hit a tiny bit of chop and loose their balance.

That was awesome to watch. Best footage to come out yet. How's the wave behind RCJ when the beach commentator urges him to not kick out and ride it to shore. I'd love to hear what RCJ says about it. I know there are ppl that have been bagging Billy Kemper for his claim but he's one of the most humble blokes going around. What he's been through this year you can see its all pure emotion and him just letting it out. Great day for the bay.

Personally I'd find it hard to take anyone over the age of 12 seriously if they stick with the name Billy.
Awesome footage. Shows how wave choice was critical, and Shepardson knew the ones to go for and executed perfectly.
