Australia - you're standing in it

"Her truth" is a bogus saying, but works when getting around having your comment deleted.
Exactly hiccups, it’s contested, 2 sides/ versions of events, sypkan is just being his usual poncey self

there's only one of us being poncey...
and that's whether you are even aware of what you did...
yet...
such is the insidious nature of the modern narrative

that's not bad - some agreeable things and points out some facts of our dependency, I just wish he'd gone off on the rant where we put back silver into the coins, you know, give them some real intrinsic value:

"Round 50c coins are still legal tender, but they are rarely used as means of payment. As of 4 April 2023, the bullion value of a round 50c coin was about AU$12.66."
lmao theres the depreciation of the value of the currency right there
Oh Brittany . . .
Some Fibs being Exposed
credibility lacking
That's the best self assessment you have ever come up with RK.
That was almost an Edward Norton Moment by Brittany..
they are not holding back now.
I do feel a bit of sympathy for her whilst watching this, must be terrible for her parents to watch
you have to feel for the poor girl...
all this being dragged out in the public domain
once again, lisa wilinson and tea towel head have a lot to answer to...
all that 'coaching', ...you have to wonder what wilkinson's main motivating factor was...

I'd have a bob each way.

Not a lot of people speaking up for her now. Many supporters and believers have many questions or are staying quiet.
Just how many times are you going to Admit that you Lied Under Oath at the Criminal Trail
Fck Me
Staggering stuff. Very murky carry on

+1. Very courageous under what were always going to be distressing circumstances.
yep. It's good to tell the truth. We all agree on that fact.

This inference that Ms Higgins deliberately lied in court is more than just a rich; you do realise that as she alone had the guts to expose every minute detail of her life in the criminal trial, and her alleged rapist didn’t see fit to defend himself by taking the stand in the same trial, it is Lehrmann’s lawyers that are now able to (re)prosecute Ms Higgins’ criminal trial evidence alone in this civil court while her alleged rapist gets off similar grilling
Girl has ovaries!
Reckon a lot more to this case than just Bruce n Brittany.
Whole thing stinks.

haha, shit, Supa, that's like a bad spoof, with the pedestrian signal going off at the lights, love when clowns give us free entertainment. Especially when they have clearly naffed about organising coordinated outfits and choreography like it's a Mardi Gras float. The effort is appreciated!

Hahahaha nice one Guy. How good was that scene?!!
Geez what a bunch of pathetic individuals.
They should be wearing rainbow colours instead of black...as they only want white men in Australia
another day of brave honesty ahead
I think "honesty" disappeared from all parties involved a long long time ago
I wonder if brave dishonesty is a thing?
Roady - I have NO interest in this issue but will try and answer the question .
Definitely !
Tony Abbott was asked by Someone to Knight Phillip .
An easy Captain's decision , so he thought .
When asked Why he made the Captain's call , he was dishonest .
He kept something to himself that maybe could have Saved His Bacon .
That is brave imo !!!
I have found , that by not being completely honest , I can feel dishonest .
If done for the right reasons ( as defined by me ) , I feel good about it , mostly .
Gee , I like TA .
He will eat a bloody onion to promote an Ozzy farmer :))) , did U know ? Really !
Here's a good one on iron ore pricing, geopolitical squabbles, and the race for independent rare earths and lithium. Australia right in the middle of it.

I find the fact she admitted to having a legal advisor with her now, (her words) "to stop her saying dumb things."

Haha well there ya go .. :)
Barnyard also had form when it came to being on the sauce and acting inappropriately with female colleagues; just ask the former head of the WA Nationals who was also highly critical of how her supposedly confidential complaint was handled by politicians

That’s pretty repulsive.
2.3 million and so much more exposed.
If your mind is made up already, or was about two years ago, and you know it was, I’m not sure why you’d jump on certain points of evidence as somehow corroborating your biases.
Perhaps you are unsure of yourself, and need a bit of propping up, playing Sherlock Holmes on the internet.
Whatever amount she was paid is largely irrelevant to what actually happened.
If there is any inference to be made from the size of the payout, which is seriously large, it would probably be that the employer realised they had messed up bad and had no defence.
If you were going to make any inference.
Just a thought.
I listened to the court this afternoon, Lehrmann's lawyer was on such a fishing exploration with Ms Higgins asking her so many irrelevant questions that the judge constantly had to ask the relevance of his questions and excuse her from the room while the judge schooled Lehrmann's lawyer on relevance. It is relevant how much she was paid but it is important to note (1) that Commonwealth accepted that they had failed Ms Higgins in the duty of care to take her allegations seriously (2) the figure reflects a view at the time she would not work in paid employment for 40 years (effectively her life) and (3) at the time of the settlement Ms Higgins mental health was so bad (suicidal) that she had been hospitalised.
So Roadkill unless you have anything of substance to say instead of these grubby innuendos fuck off,
Jeez
Trail by media is horrendously bad.
Trail by social media is ten times worse.
Just shut the fuck up.
Two peoples lives are on the line.
Unless you have delt with family members in this kind of situation don’t upload crap.
My heart goes out to all involved.
seems to be quite a concerted push for nuclear energy in oz atm...
little people firing up everywhere, obviously dutton and the lnp as well
this little preppy getting some air time, not least on the project where it seems the little shit went down largely unchallenged, no one saying who's paying for his flights etc. (...he's such a cookie cut out young liberal, i think its pretty obvious... bad form project...)
now he's quoting unions who are on board
if labor don't win next election, i reckon its a given...

I agree, we need nuclear. It is being seriously looked at COP28 and many countries are building more reactors. China alone has 21 in the pipeline.
I dont think we NEED it at all...
that's without even considering the super long roll out to actual operation
big $$$ establishing an industry
security risks
the waste...
what to do with the waste for 1000's of years? ....that's gotta be the most irresponsible legacy ever to pass on to future generations... way worse than what we are doing now...
the fact we are a renewables gold mine
apparently its uneconomical for a small population like oz anyway, especially when so widely and sparsely dispersed...
and, new tech. will probably supercede it before it even gets going I reckon... (see first point)
it might make sense if you already have an established supply / industry... but appears dumb and totally uneccesary for oz...
and on top of all that, it seems 80% of advocates couldn't give a shit about climate change... its just a shoehorn to wedge in an ideological position that likes to burn shit with reckless abandon...
The "I can't believe it's not politics" thread.
