Thanks for your reply samerubi.
Im 90kg myself so I definitely get the larger than most.
How do you rate the scarfini - obviously you rate them seeing you’ve ridden them for 5 years.
Also might be a stupid question but is it implied that if they are from the same factory they are a similar shape/design?

Endorfins:
The FCSII compatible base will require two screws that will come with the fins. Endorfins with FCSII compatible bases will not click in and click out.

95-100kg and really happy with the scarfini twins.
they are not too stiff or flighty and have good drive/connection.
looking at the shape the scarfinis will behave differently to the endorfins.
probably more drive as the whole meat of the scarfini fin is set back by about 0.5cm.
twins especially are strongly influenced by the fin.
i would take your new board and ride it with a variety of fins until you find your happy place.
if it is bigger/longer you may be able to get away with smaller fins. the converse is true.
if the board is pinny you may find upright fins work better. again the converse is true.
at the end of the day you are on a journey.
it should be fun - enjoy it.

those vector fins look good udo.
if you have shallow fins like them, you could ride very shallow reef or sand bottom breaks. also you could ride over other people & surfers in crowded beach situations. even with normal fins you can ride incredibly shallow section's, it's mind blowing sometimes how you avoid hitting fins on some waves that seem to go dry!

I had a set of those AU fins a couple of years ago. They worked and made the surfboard feel a little different, but I couldn’t really say they were better or worse than the Shaper’s Shaun Cansdell fins I was using at the time.

^^ Reckon those Carvers are a fairly extreme template. Not so much that they're not worth trying, however it pays to know what style of surfing you have and what you need from fins.
Last Friday I was digging around the shed and came across two little quad nubsters that were laid up, cut, and sanded by Johnno, the last of the Jetty's knuckle men. Great to screw in to add a bit of twinny spice to a quad but still have the turning range and extension.
They're only single tab, and at first I rode them in the front tab before putting them in the rear which felt best.

simba wrote:Stu how do you find the long webber fins?
A heap of fun in small waves and a good change of pace for when the C-Drives are too 'sticky'. I usually only ride them as a quad, the rear set is a similar template to the front only smaller.
I think, overall, I'm looking for a twinny feeling, or something close to it, but without the shortcomings.

Might have something similar in my log and 8'1... it's a big circular plastic base, with a thin tube that goes through to the deck (laminated in on both sides = strong) where the allen key goes in, tow-in is adjustable. Fins plug in from thick central tab with inlaid single metal thread doing the holding.

after a bit of your vast wisdom here , got myself a tiny 5'8 fish for small mushy waves , in 78 kgs and currently have fcs g'3 s in it but find them to lack drive and speed anyone have any suggestions on what would be more suitable fins for speed / drive in small waves , old school fcs plugs in the board tri fin .
help would be greatly appreciated .
