By itself, the clip looks heavy handed. No context to what really happened in the lead up and during the confrontation.
I have no problem with cops being charged with assault and causing injury when the force used is unnecessary…we do need all the details before judging tho.

Cop approaching a calm man from behind and trying to break his neck by violently pile driving him head first into a concrete floor= Not worthy of mention.

Hard to argue with that, on that surface and with that force a head knock could even result in death.

Surely this cop will be put on leave while the incident is investigated and possibly lose his job or even have charges laid.

Unless we are not seeing everything and he is armed ad a threat to the other officers.

Im all for cops not being soft cocks and being able to use some force, but judging from what we can see here thats way over the mark.

That footage was on ABC news tonight and VicPol are asking for witnesses to come forward.

On what we know (very little) /see it looks bad and no doubt that cop will need to answer to the law. That wouldn't be standard procedure.

I worked for their super fund for awhile and too many police each year are disability retired with PTSD, anxiety and depression or a combination of all 3 illnesses, to the point where new recruits are now subject to strict psychological testing to help them cope with the daily stresses of the job. Massive divorce rates among police along with huge drinking patterns. You can't pay them enough money to deal with the shit and shit people they're required to deal with everyday and every time they put on a uniform. There are some police stations / regions where over 60% of all police work is dealing with domestic violence before drugs and alcohol are factored in. Each day, every day, every week, each year the same issues and the same shit headed people.

Modern policing is very very accountable to itself, to the community and the law and if any police step over the line there are consequences.

I’m well aware of the demographic of locations where DV accounts for a large percentage of police time. Ive spent much time in these locations. It’s the “Who shall not be named” of the domestic violence action groups. Most of these locations have inadequate police numbers to support the rates of crime which occur in parallel to the DV incidents.

Billions and billions of dollars and endless social welfare programs and community aid have been directed at this particular demographic. The reduction in the ability of police to oversee crime will not assist in diminishing rates of DV in any way whatsoever.

The government just gave $13B in Jobkeeper cash to many companies who deserved not a cent. Perhaps defunding the police should be somewhere well down on the list of generating even more funding to fight the scourge of DV?

Calls to defund the police in Australia are ridiculous. I can see less need for the tools of widespread oppression and military hardware the police have accumulated but the act of everyday policing is probably underfunded.

Its pretty scary, yeah lets defund a police force that if anything needs more funding, its worked out well in the USA.

You don't actually understand this topic do you indo. Why am I not surprised.

As for you blowin, why would you go straight into a diatribe about domestic violence in a "particular demographic"? A large percent of police time is wasted on shit they don't need to do, or would escalate problems in every demographic.

You appear to hate cops, except the one nice man that you surf with and some other random cunt that used to be one, you point out that they've been given a stupid amount of funds to accumulate unnecessary military hardware, and rant and rave when they use it, but hell no. Don't defund them. The current system is working just fine. In fact, lets throw more money at everyday policing!

defund the police

I just think its all kinds of dumb from a marketing perspective

maybe it's designed to fire up the foot soldiers, or to sort out the opponents from the 'allies'... the old 'us and them'... which is very vogue at the moment...

but in terms garnering any wider support and actually winning any political argument, it's a tragic own goal...

I think it is just a prime example of how distamt and bubbled up the political extremes have become, because if you're throwing around terms like 'defund the police'...

you're either so deep in the ideoligical bunker you cannot see the light

you spend too much time on the internet

or, you just don't even care about political arguments and you're just sending smoke signals to your tribe

but carry on...

I honestly think the founders of groups like BLM and many other social justice type groups are just smart in making money from basically nothing.

The founders most likely went to uni did some irrelevant degree, entered the real world didnt want to get a real job cause lets face it most jobs suck, so they start up a social justice type group they have interest in hoping they can at least get by on the income that they grift.

Then the ball starts rolling and they see the opportunity to make more money by saying things or slogans people want to hear or gets them razzed up (the whole system is this or that and needs to be rebuilt thing)

And if they are lucky they end up rolling in cash with a nice real estate portfolio etc

I think it would be a bit like starting a band up thinking you will be a big rock star though, im betting for every one of these groups that get big and rich there is a million that fail or only remain a hobby.

Its pretty rare, even individuals YOU might see as grifters for example Avi provide a service an alternative take angle on news, plenty on the left do the same for example, friendly jordies or far left Tom Tankui

Most of the social justice type thing organisations are a grift, even if it starts in a good place, it follows the money, they play on your emotions to give them money, you pay up on the hope it makes some difference when 99% of the time it doesnt, it just provides some people jobs often well paying for doing nothing of any real substance.

THE MAN IN THE STAND
There’s a man in the stand, and he’s looking at you
And he’s wanting to know if you’re feeling it too -
The pride in the guernsey that means so much more
When you wear it for all those who’ve worn it before.
There’s a duty that comes with the honour bestowed
To respect the ideals of the MFC code;
So with the passion and courage of teams of the past
Play each quarter, each minute, as if it’s your last.
There’s a man in the stand, and it shows in his face
He’d give anything just to be there in your place
To lace up your boots, and to feel what you feel
When you pull on the armour of red and blue steel,
To be able to tell the young boy on his knee
Of the day that the fans roared for him at the ‘G.
So one thing you must say as you walk from this shed
Is you’ll never let this privilege go to your head,
You’ll never take for granted what you’ve been allowed -
The chance to play footy in front of this crowd.
There’s a man in the stand, but he’s not on his own,
There are thousands beside, and behind, and at home
Those who wear the Club colours, and whose welfare depends
On whether their team is in front at the end.
And though between them they haven’t a stat to their names,
They are the very heart and the soul of this game,
And the question those people are asking of you
Is “If you get cut today, will you bleed red and blue?”
It’s a Grand Old Flag, but in this brave new world
If you want to see another flag being unfurled
Then don’t waste your time on the papers or news,
Because games aren’t determined by media views
Nor do crowds or the umpires decide who prevails,
It’s young men with big hearts just refusing to fail
With heads over the ball, and their bodies on the line
Who when knocked down get up again time after time
And who know that there’s always some more they can find
Even when the board says that they’re five goals behind
Winners don’t play three quarters, or give into fear
And they don’t play for money, or backslaps or beer
No, they play for each other, standing shoulder to shoulder,
When the other team’s brave, then you have to be bolder
And the thing you’ll reflect on one day, when you’re older
Is the man you became as a red and blue soldier.
There’s a man in the stand, and like those who surround him
He smiles as he turns to the faces around him
He smiles in the knowledge this team shares his pride
That this is a group who will not be denied
And he roars himself hoarse as he cheers for that team
He believes that these men can deliver that dream
And he knows that the prize they have sought all these years
Will be well worth the blood, and the sweat, and the tears.
Go Dees

As per normally you are full of it, he never faked any arrest and any money raised has been for real court cases that i believe are still ongoing.

Throwing a chopping board at anyone especially a women not something to be proud off, but its also misleading to label it wife bashing, and give the guy credit he admitted his actions and took the punishment handed down, could have easily denied the incident..

As for his family relations, Avi comes from a big family 17 kids, he might not get on with some of his siblings or parents, but he has had a few of his brothers and sisters on the show.

According to his website, he got kicked out of home at 13-years-old, spent time on the streets, in group homes and foster care. His teens spent mostly addicted to heroin and often in trouble with the law.

Many people like that continue on a life of poverty, drug dependency and crime, but he picked himself up kicked his drug habit joined the Israel Defence Force for a few years, can home started a chain of gyms, sold his gyms to do what he does now.

He is still young but obviously has much more life experience than most, and as we have seen recently actually gets out there and reports right from the coal face, opposed to drop kick like Tom who sit in their bedroom giving their two bobs worth that is worth nothing more than any other randoms opinion..

Riot news out of Melbourne today. It's all quiet on the Western Front folks.
After days of dog kicking, pissing on the shrine, blocking freeways, and spitting on Vaccine workers, the anti-vax / anti lockdown cookers have been utterly destroyed.
Their main methods of communication have been hijacked by the dreaded "left wing activists" and there's utter chaos online.
The meeting places have been shifted, rescheduled, ridiculed, and reset. People are accusing others of being plants, and nobody trusts anybody anymore. Some of the "leaders" are live-streaming videos abusing their ex-mates. Oh dear.
So far only 1 muppet has shown up and he was promptly arrested.
Bad luck to all the alt-right rabble on this forum. Your side has lost and the good people of Melbourne are glad the scum are off the streets. And Melbournites will long remember the LNP and associated turds who encouraged and excused these violent morons.

VicLocal - It has been done many times before . It is from the government playbook .

"This is why a considerable portion of establishment money, energy and propaganda is directed at defusing or sabotaging any semblance of conservative organization. This includes engineering false flag events and creating potential terror attacks from thin air so that they can be blamed on constitutionally minded groups. The strategy is called “4th Generation Warfare” and it is not conspiracy theory, this is conspiracy fact.

For example, as we now know according to court documentation, the supposed scheme by a Michigan “militia” made up of anarchists to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer and “try her as a tyrant” was heavily infiltrated by at least a dozen FBI agents and informants. The group was so infiltrated, in fact, that the entire plot for the kidnapping was essentially planned out by the FBI. This is the very definition of a false flag. The corruption and entrapment involved in the operation was so egregious that even the leftist media has reported on it."
