Updated: 2017-10-22 07:52:00 Surf: bumpy 3ft S Winds: Fresh SW Weather: partly cloudy Rating: 3/10

Protected spots are tiny this morning, not really breaking. And south facing beaches are picking up 3ft of leftover surf but they're wind affected with breezey SW conditions. It's a real challenge to find somewhere worthwhile this morning, but there are rideable options if you're keen.

2017-10-22 06:09:00: peaky 3ft S, Fresh SW, partly cloudy 3/10

Dawn Report: Not a good look this morning. The east swell has eased right back, and although there's still plenty (though easing) south swell in the water in the 3ft range, it's only getting into exposed northern ends - and they're being buffeted by gusty SW winds. You'll have to look for a compromise between size and quality, neither of which are in great supply this morning. Protected southern ends are very small and weak. Tune in to the updated photo report around 8am.
