The current large swell will ease rapidly overnight but conditions will clean right up and there's fun surf days from the weekend.
That system will drive gales across various area of the Tasman Sea, initially out of Bass Strait and adjacent to the Southern NSW Coast, then extending southwards to form a long fetch through the lower Eastern Tasman Sea.
A poor couple of days so rug up before conditions improve later week with swell from the south to south-east.
There are windows of cleaner conditions and fun swell this period but you'll have to be on the pulse.
So with offshore winds expected and no tradewind or E’ly winds in the Coral Sea, expect tiny/flat surf to extend through this week and likely into next week too.
Another dynamic week ahead but a bit more straightforwards in the sense that all the incoming swell will be from the S- once the current E swell pulse peters out fully through tomorrow.
Cold, stormy surf over the coming days, with one good day of surf later week. Workable weekend waves.
