Best Days: Saturday, Sunday south magnets, later Monday and Tuesday protected spots, Wednesday

Recap

A small kick in S'ly swell yesterday was the precursor to a stronger S/SE groundswell today, though winds from the S/SW are favouring protected spots.

This weekend and next week (Jun 1 - 7)

Today's S/SE groundswell will ease slowly over the weekend, though reinforced by a secondary S'ly swell tomorrow, produced by a good fetch of polar S'ly winds pushing up in the wake of the S/SE gales linked to today's swell.

South swell magnets should still be around 4-5ft tomorrow morning, easing from 3ft to possibly 4ft Sunday morning, down to 2-3ft into the afternoon.

Winds tomorrow should be good and offshore from the W/SW, giving into N/NE sea breezes and then W/NW-NW winds on Sunday.

Moving into Monday and a stronger and deepening low moving east across the state and then projecting north towards NSW will generate a fetch of strong to gale-force S'ly winds off us Monday. The low will then track north, directing the fetch away from us resulting in a drop in swell Tuesday.

A windswelly increase in strengthening mid-period S'ly swell, biggest up the northern end of the coast and likely reaching 6ft at south magnets into the afternoon, smaller to the south.

Winds will be strong from the S/SW, shifting to the S'th through the day, with Tuesday seeing persistent S'ly winds, tending S/SW through the afternoon as the swell slowly eases from 4-5ft at south magnets.

As the low moves over towards New Zealand on Wednesday a great SE fetch will be generated on the edge of our swell window, generating a small E/SE groundswell for the middle of the week, but we'll have a closer look at this Monday. Have a great weekend!
