Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 24th July)

Best Days: Monday afternoon protected spots, Tuesday, Wednesday morning south swell magnets

Recap

Tiny levels of leftover windswell yesterday and today that wasn't really surfable.

This week and weekend (Jul 23 – 26)

The surf will remain flat until Monday, when a vigorous but weakening low pushes across us.

A fetch of weakening S/SW tending SW gales are due to be aimed through our southern swell window early Monday and through the rest of the day, producing a pulse of S'ly swell, reaching 3-4ft or so across south facing beaches with SW winds.

Tuesday looks to be the best day to surf as a fetch of S'ly winds wrapping around the back of the low, produce a reinforcing S'ly swell for the morning to 3-4ft+ at south swell magnets, before easing into the afternoon and down further from 2ft Wednesday.

Winds should be great and offshore from the W/NW Tuesday and Wednesday.

Longer term there's nothing too major on the cards besides a possible small refracted S'ly groundswell Thursday mixed with a small N/NE windswell. More on this Monday though. Have a great weekend!
