Swellnet Sessions
Recollections Of A Summer Swell
It's hard to believe that just a week ago, the Queensland pointbreaks were starting to fire on all cylinders, in what would be a three day extravaganza of crowded but near-perfect December swell. Pearce Leal took these shots of the inner Noosa points on Christmas afternoon. //BEN MATSON

Pirates of the Kirrabean
Yeah, I know it's a terrible title for a Sessions piece. But this is the sixth gallery of perfect Queensland waves we've run this week, and I've exhausted my limited supply of adjectives. I'll let bRAD Nielsen's photos do the talking instead. //BEN MATSON

Pleasure and Pain
The surfer getting slotted in the first sequence here is Central Coast fella, Peter Hayes. The surfer getting pumped in the second sequence is the same bloke. That laughter you're hearing is Jughead Allport's, the fella behind the lens who is usually the one going over the falls at this spot. It's good to see someone else bring the pain.

Bump and Grind
An unidentified surfer pumps and grinds his way through a racing Coolangatta tube. Check how many full body speed pumps he gets while trying to keep up with the lip.
Sequence by Terry Kavanagh.

PNG Exploring
Rounding out a year that saw his frequent flyer points travel sky high, Sydney photographer, Joel Coleman from Saltmotion, boarded the boat PNG Explorer for a bit of exploring...in PNG. The trip was put together with the help of The Perfect Wave travel company and they surfed around the New Ireland region off the north coast of Papua. The photographs tell the story of the waves the crew scored.

Shelf Life
Tassie ain't all Shippies madness and isolated west coast reefbreaks. Despite the cold and the relentless Roaring 40's winds, Tassie can often be fun. In this session, Tassie photographer, Nicholas Green, captures locals timing their run across a shallow, barrelling shelf.
