Watch: Albee Layer // Opinionated Passion
Albee is the kinda guy that acts first and thinks later. The first sequence in this film will convince you of that: pulling into a doomsday closeout section in front of bare rocks.
It serves as a metaphor for Albee's behaviour, online and in real life. He's outspoken, talks and types during the heat of the moment, and deals with the fallout later.
In this case he cops a few bumps and scrapes as the people around him - particularly old mate with the annoying voice - lose their shit.

His big wave paddle in board looks just right in length, not so long that it becomes a straight liner and short enough to hook up into the bowl on those really big ones. Also his stringers on one of them "v" in the opposite direction to Mitchell Rae's, which doesn't mean much but it would be interesting to know why his shaper does it that way.
He's a unit, got all sizes covered with absolute style.

That 40ft+ Jaws day, comp ends but they keep filming. One nutter on a red and black board paddles over from all the skis at the end, no one else paddles over, he's really deep, cops a couple of waves on the head (!), keeps going. It was Albee, he was surfing an 8 footer under the lip while everyone else had been on 10ft or so. And included up there with Kai's towed airs, Albee's is the approach that stands out on that day.
Had no idea he had such depth to his shortboarding, or was a great shitposter. A+.

Saw 16 minute clip I was like ohh too long then it ended and I was like uh already?! that was sick, it's true skating has so many variations in charisma and surfing seems to be "one laned" as he put it, inspiring, I just felt the passion for surfing itself less all the bullshit that comes with being a pro

Refreshing to hear an individual voice willing to express their opinion. Plus Albee seems to back it up with some real surfing in waves on consequence. Guy has balls.
